It's the apathetic attitude of people like you that is plaguing naija. Naija is owned by the people and not the elites. Once we are resigned to the idea That some few own us then the nation is doomed. Also do not let your party affiliation becloud your judgement. This is isn't about A PC or pdp, this is about the travesty you all experience on a daily basis, and the cause of laughter in places like Ghana and Kenya. Even Benin does not have this sort of crisis.
Buhari should just come in and rule by decrees; this nation is clearly not ready for a true democracy and our legislators are incapable of reforming this mess.
Naija is a shame indeed. If Buhari fails to take the drastic steps to remedy the malaise; then we must start preparing for the schism that would lead to the demise of Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: The Old Lagos In Pictures by Daykoozy(m): 11:59pm On Apr 30, 2015
A guy told me it was the Ibo women who destroyed Lagos with their beards and hairy chest

He said their the hair from their chest and beards blocked 60% of the drainage system - and the remaining was done by the Northerners and their homelessness (N/B: someone told me).

I don't know how true this, but I know I've seen a lot of light-skinned Ibo women with beards and hairy chests - and on my last visit to Lagos, most of the beggars by the roadside are Arabs and northerners

I know those Niger/Delta tribes that live on water and in squalor as shown in the "Welcome to Lagos" documentary - also brought slums to Lagos

N/B: I'm not into tribal superiority - I just want my Lagos to return to its old glory,
No need for this BS here. Lets be civil.

Jemiriye was one of the top finalists of the 2012/13 Nigerian Idol musical reality show, distinguished by her unique Afrocentric fashion.

But unknown to many, the ebony complexioned songbird from Osun state relocated to the United States shortly after her participation in the musical reality show, where she has silently been making Nigeria proud.

April 21st was a day of glory for this pretty Nigerian has she was invited to sing at the stadium during The Phillies game, in Philadelphia.

Jemiriye beautifully performed the anthem, "Take me out to the Ballgame" to the crowd of fans live on TV at the Philadelphia Phillies vs Miami Marlin's game at the Citizens Bank Park Stadium, Philadelphia.

It happened to be the Phillies biggest game of the year as it co-incided with Jackie Robinson's day celebration(Jackie Robinson's 42nd Anniversary)

Jackie Robinson was the first black to ever play Base ball in the world

@OP Jackie Robinson was the first black to play in the Major League Baseball, not the first black to play baseball in the world. There had been Negro league prior to and during Jackie's professional career.

We can't even tally our oil production output on a daily basis. What a shame..what a disgrace.

What many observers fail to understand is that the North needs the likes of Tinubu more than he needs them. As a shrewd operator, he already has his ace card ready before his competitors get out bed. PoliticsRe: South-east, South-south Groups Demand Self-determination by Daykoozy(m): 2:11am On Apr 28, 2015
hansad:
Main issue is that Nigeria was politically structured by military dictators to favour far north and to fail.

It is difficult to practice this increasingly over centralized form of unitary government in a multI-ethnic Nigeria.

What suits Nigeria and can guarantee its unity and development is regional government system and fiscal federalism.

But instead of the north and southwest to join to return fiscal federalism or restructure the polity for a better Nigeria, the north and southwest rather made political alliance whose inner motivation was to further exploit proceds from minearal resources in the southsouth and southeast
I agree with your first 3 paragraphs. But The North and Southwest is a political alliance that produced an outcome some didn't like, not a conspiracy. Please go back to the history of Nigeria, revisit the annals and tell me who where the advocates of Regionalism. Those crying foul now we're yet to be admitted in schooL let alone understand what Federalism meant when the southwest leaders foresaw that Federalism wouldn't work. So why now cry when we all know politics is ever-changing. I promise you if the president elect had been ibo, we will be hearing a different tune now.
I am also a staunch proponent of Regional regimes but we're not there yet. If you think we are, then better tell those moving around to fall back and stay put; but I doubt they will listen to you as there's money to be made.
What we can all ask for now is a well run government. The corruption in the delta is so toxic that I will not even let the so called leaders government government my dogs let alone run a region. Will Tompolo be the President or will Patience rule the thing?
look in the mirror and be real!

Although I'm not in support of Nigeria disintegrating but what's your biz if the SS & SE wanna break away? Are they truly the zone feeding you? Why do you choose to hold them against their wish.?
I haven't been a residence since the mid 90s, so the oil money ain't coming to my table. My question is why haven't we heard this clamor until right after the election. The truth is Jonathan set back the Delta region due to his inactions. I for one believe in resources control as it is fair.
if you truly want a Regional Nigeria the score has to be settled amongst its advocates and concerned states; but we all know that is impossible every tribe in the so called producing states put pen to paper then we can say that day is here. Knowing naija this dream Will remain an illusion pursued by those who incessantly pursue the mirage.

You advice A. Briggs do advocacy all her life while you form alliance to exploit her backyard in guise of One Nigeria?

Perhaps you don't know, with or without crude oil and gas deposits, if in the last 40 years Oduduwa had been a country, the whole of Southwest of Nigeria blessed with all mineral and human resources would have been far more advanced than what it is today - forget the glitter of Lagos; the rest of SW has remained thatch and mud houses and under-developed, much even remain like in the Danfodian era.

So use intelligence, stop attacking LNF, A. Briggs, and any thing that can enhance Oduduwa Republic.

But then, if Yoruba so love Arewa that thay cannot stay alone in one country without Arewa, what stops Oduduwa from forming a country with Arewa and leave the LNF alone?
The real question is where were all these folks the last 5 years. I hate to invoke tribes into my comments, but it seems Yorubas are the only tribe that votes based on merits and promise rather than the 'our son' mentality. It is a fact that Yorubas were Obasanjos' biggest critics and we were the one to call for Jonathan when Yaardua was I'll. Stop crying and for once let facts and prudence dictate our thoughts and action.
The A PC alliance is not a tribal alliance. And I already forsee a igbo president as the next president after Buhari. So calm down my ppl it's okay.I f you want to know the next president just holler at me.

For me is just better they divide this country, period. Nigeria is to big to be called a nation. Yorubas should support us so that we will leave their land as they have wished. The southerners have been contributing very well to the economy of this country. Hausas and yorubas are somuch afraid to lose us, if not so why have they not supported us to leave this country called Nigeria? By his grace, one day this country will be divided, Amen.
How a fine babe like you come dey talk like this na cheesy. Don't you understand that the SE east has a lot to benefit from one naija. Your folks venture out more and take more risk for the sake of commerce. So give General Boo a chance to do his magic and the Ssouth and Seast will all say "what were we thinking". Now if you were a benefactor of Gluck's administration then that's a different sTory . Gluck did not perform at all at all, no other way to spin this.
If he had performed the first order of business would have been tackling the environmental crises in the delta, followed by laying a grand plan towards resource control for the oil producing states. I too believe in a true Federalism, but if their own Son failed to lead the way why now whine when there's change.
Buhari could really end up being a game-changer that would take care of business, but if he fails then we all can clamor for regionalism.
