The youths are running away and not the other way round
Let's really hope they are. Their counterparts in Nairobi, Maputo, China, are acquiring skills and education for the future while our youths are going to night vigils and prayer worships. Trust me, countries like Mozambique, Botswana, Tanzania, and even Ghana have already overtaken us.

Good governance, education and investment in infrastructure between 1999-2015 in some African countries will become evident in coming years(naija is not one of them)Sometimes I cry when I go to these places and see how far they've come in a decade. We may have the most Ferraris but this countries have a better quality of life.
what we don't need is our youths being prayer warriors. Their energy should be channelled into creative ideas in arts, sports and education.
Nigeria is an a perfect example for why religion is a waste. We're the most religious yet the most corrupt.

More importantly, these youths have now figured the game out. They know the system is corrupt in and out of the church and they don't want to hear that sh..t anymore.
Hopefully these youths will revolt against the system, causing mayhem and reordering our priorities. The Agbalagbas have destroyed the youth's future. 2 generations destroyed and another on the way.

This is quite accurate, but Eritrea didn't make the list? Hmm
Eritrea should be number three. They are well organized and they don't run in battle. Nigeria should be no 7, we're not training, and the money for our military-ware is being plundered. Once we start reorganizing then we should be back to number 1.

African Americans are often violent, ignorant, aggressive, uneducated and poor. They can't do without Marijuana and other hard drugs. This tragic news is most definitely as a result of drugs combined with heated arguments. I'll always advice Nigerians to stay away from most of them especially the uneducated ones. Fela the truest truth talker Africa ever had. If only Nigeria had listened to this mad man, we would be a greater for it.
Now back to the matter. When I say Africans are their own worst enemy, people say I'm harsh. I did not realize the ignorant things we do until I left as a young teen. It was after living in the white man's land that I became to appreciate my culture more because I could see clearly.
Even most white people appreciate the black skin better than Africans appreciate themselves.
Bleaching is a consequence of mental slavery. Even our African American s appreciate the dark skin more than we do, this is a shame. I will not give a woman or man who bleaches a job, I won't feed them, I won't save them if they were drowning. If you feel this way about youselves, then how should Hitler feel about you. Embrace yourselves! The biggest problem with Africa is the social and cultural, and once we fix that everything else will fall right in place.
And we whine about what we're being subjected to by the white man. Stay black and proud like Amala iya Foli.

Please leave south Africans alone. We must not forget 'Ghana must go' in the eighties. The truth is underemployed, uneducated zulus are overwhelmed and there is a bit of jealousy involved, but most of the backlash has to do with the lower paying jobs being scarce.

maybe SA should consider stricter immigration reform that will only allow students in SA unis, or professional degree holders. The rest can return to Their country of origin especially my fellow Nigerians.
The outside world keeps relieving Nigeria of its pressure.
its time to deal with our problems instead of crying about what foreigners are doing. The truth is the average Nigerian gets more justice in SA than they do at home.
When Nigerians are ready to go all out like they abroad, that's when things will turn around.

We cannot nationalize DSTV/Shoprite. They are private companies owned by foreigners. If we drive them away, they take their services elsewhere.
Any company can be nationalized. The question is will Nigeria do such? The answer is No. The economic ramifications will be dire. Private investors will shy away from Nigeria. The only thing that can be done is to boycott or patronize Nigeria owned enterprise But I seriously doubt that, since the naija mentality of ' foreign fine pass' will not allow homegrown to succeed as it should.

What these SA brothers need to be doing is learning the ropes of running a business and the art of hustle from the naija brothers. That will serve them well iinstead of this abominable tantrum.
PoliticsRe: David-west To Okonjo-iweala: Buhari Doesn’t Need Your Advice by Daykoozy(m): 2:49am On Apr 18, 2015
Duru1:
The above post reflected the typical idiosyncrasy of most Nigerians when they appear and sound like they know it all yet exude ignorance of unimaginable height. Nigeria had someone named Gen. M. Buhari due to the corruptive practices of NPC led by Bello and Balewa. One wonders how the APC is going to eradicate corruption in Nigeria when the top dog in the party is a product of nepotistic endeavors of NPC and northern region of Nigeria.
The alleged attitude levelled against Boss13 is a farce. You are the one withproblem. It is obvious that a toddler would be able to observe that NOI will go down as one of the world's worst economic managers.
A pig like her would be hung in saner climes. She woefully damaged Nigeria's economy and the future of coming generations.
gej, her boss, was given the silver platter: rising oil prices, mandate of the people, and zero external debt left by OBJ administration. Yet this clueless woman and her boss fumbled the nation to bankruptcy.
Say what you may about Buhari, he is definitely not perfect but I doubt he would condone the BS witnessed the last six years. Buhari is known for one thing; his abhorrence for corruption. If Ngozi had maintained this principle and resigned due to endemic corruption, then the nation would be better for it.
Your obvious display of ignorance is clearly the malaise plaguing the nation and not Bob13's on point observations.
PoliticsWhen Will Africans Liberate Their Minds? by Daykoozy(op): 8:50am On Apr 16, 2015
The sun-god Horus was worshipped nearly 1,000 years before the story of Jesus. Check these parallels:

1.Both were conceived of a virgin.
2.Both were the "only begotten son" of a god (either Osiris or Yahweh)
3.Horus's mother was Meri, Jesus's mother was Mary.
4.Horus's foster father was called Jo-Seph, and Jesus's foster father was Joseph.
5.Both foster fathers were of royal descent.
6.Both were born in a cave (although sometimes Jesus is said to have been born in a stable).
7.Both had their coming announced to their mother by an angel.
Horus; birth was heralded by the star Sirius (the morning star). Jesus had his birth heralded by a star in the East (the sun rises in the East).
8.Ancient Egyptians celebrated the birth of Horus on December 21 (the Winter Solstice). Modern Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 25.
9.Both births were announced by angels (this si nto the same as number 7).
10.Both had shepherds witnessing the birth.
11.Horus was visited at birth by "three solar deities" and Jesus was visited by "three wise men".
12.After the birth of Horus, Herut tried to have Horus murdered. After the birth of Jesus, Herod tried to have Jesus murdered.
13.To hide from Herut, the god That tells Isis, "Come, thou goddess Isis, hide thyself with thy child." To hide from Herod, an angel tells Joseph to "arise and take the young child and his mother and flee into Egypt."
14.When Horus came of age, he had a special ritual where hsi eye was restored. When Jesus (and other Jews) come of age, they have a special ritual called a Bar Mitzvah.
15.Both Horus and Jesus were 12 at this coming-of-age ritual.
Neither have any official recorded life histories between the ages of 12 and 30.
16.Horus was baptized in the river Eridanus. Jesus was baptized in the river Jordan.
17.Both were baptized at age 30.
18.Horus was baptized by Anup the Baptizer. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.
19.Both Anup and John were later beheaded.
20.Horus was taken from the desert of Amenta up a high mountain to be tempted by his arch-rival Set. Jesus was taken from the desert in Palestine up a high mountain to be tempted by his arch-rival Satan.
21.Both Horus and Jesus successfully resist this temptation.
22.Both have 12 disciples.
23.Both walked on water, cast out demons, healed the sick, and restored sight to the blind.
24.Horus "stilled the sea by his power." Jesus commanded the sea to be still by saying, "Peace, be still."
25.Horus raised his dead father (Osiris) from the grave. Jesus raised Lazarus from the grave. (Note the similarity in names when you say them out loud. Further, Osiris was also known as Asar, which is El-Asar in Hebrew, which is El-Asarus in Latin.)
26.Osiris was raised in the town of Anu. Lazarus was raised in Bethanu (literally, "house of Anu"wink.
27.Both gods delivered a Sermon on the Mount.
28.Both were crucified.
29.Both were crucified next to two thieves.
30.Both were buried in a tomb.
31.Horus was sent to Hell and resurrected in 3 days. Jesus was sent to Hell and came back "three days" later (although Friday night to Sunday morning is hardly three days).
32.Both had their resurrection announced by women.
33.Both are supposed to return for a 1000-year reign.
34.Horus is known as KRST, the anointed one. Jesus was known as the Christ (which means "anointed one"wink.
35.Both Jesus and Horus have been called the good shepherd, the lamb of God, the bread of life, the son of man, the Word, the fisher, and the winnower.
36.Both are associated with the zodiac sign of Pisces (the fish).
37.Both are associated with the symbols of the fish, the beetle, the vine, and the shepherd's crook.
38.Horus was born in Anu ("the place of bread"wink and Jesus was born in Bethlehem ("the house of bread"wink.
39."The infant Horus was carried out of Egypt to escape the wrath of Typhon. The infant Jesus was carried into Egypt to escape the wrath of Herod. Concerning the infant Jesus, the New Testament states the following prophecy: 'Out of Egypt have I called my son.'"
40.Both were transfigured on the mount.
41.The catacombs of Rome have pictures of the infant Horus being held by his mother, not unlike the modern-day images of "Madonna and Child."
Noted English author C. W. King says that both Isis and Mary are called "Immaculate".
42.Horus says: "Osiris, I am your son, come to glorify your soul, and to give you even more power." And Jesus says: "Now is the Son of Man glorified and God is glorified in him. If God is glorified in him, God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once."
Horus was identified with the Tau (cross).

Approximately 46 Similarities were identified between these two, however some of the similarities are considered debatable. Although Im not confident about the authenticity of these parallels, I would like to know your opinion.

The REAL TRUTH shall set you free.. in this order:
Spiritually
Culturally
Socially
Economically
As long as we continue to adhere to another man's superstition and live and die by them then we are bound to be slaves.
CultureRe: Historical Facts About Ilorin And Kwara Yoruba by Daykoozy(m): 3:50am On Apr 09, 2015
Crocz:
When people talk about Ilorin in this manner I just laugh cos they have absolute no idea what the place is like. Ilorin is majorly muslim city with virtually every indigen with different ancestral origin. The Emir also has Fulani ancestral origin but he's more YORUBA than anybody. The Emir is just a title to depict an Emirate, an Islamic state. I can categorically tell you the Emir does not even understand Fulfude. You'll see indigens with ancestral origins from Oyo(mostly), Osun (e.g former gov. Lawal), Borno, Kogi etc but still Yoruba!
You've said it best my brother. The Emirates is more Yoruba than Fulani. This Yoruba thing is a Primordial soup that envelopes everything around it. That's why everyone assimilates to it easily Cuz they like it. Yoruba's should be proud of their Diverse history. I have yet to see any

If you still of the opinion that Ilorin is being ruled by a Fulani, just go to the place and see for yourself. The complexity of things there is not as simple as you think.
Preach! I traveled to kwara and I loved it. The diversity is quite unique. No need to change nothing. Perhaps just allow more political and economical inclusiveness.

[quote author=otr1 post=32421211]The Ibos will soon know who owns Lagos in a week time.
The Oba means every letter of his words and his say is final-no apology.

I beg to differ. The Oba clearly owes them an apology. No where in a civilized world should an elder in the community make such a statement In the public realm. As a Yoruba who understands tradition this statement is unbecoming of an Oba.

While I support the APC; this is clearly not the way of a statesman. The Oba can cajole, advice and persuade others how to vote but he cannot make such an hostile statement publicly or privately. There is more to this than meets the eye.
As they say in Yoruba, "the thing whey he go chop no make am well". Clearly the Oba has guaranteed godies coming from Ambode. Even then, such statement from an Oba is clearly unacceptable.

See as Yoruba dey hapi as if say na them produce President? I am sorry for you people. Anyway Asari well done for that one. In the coming days, we will see how things will unfold.
When will you guys learn. when will you all REALISE that Yorubas are not as sentimental as the rest of Nigeria. Our culture dictates that leaders must perform, this is ingrained in our DNA. Did we not criticize OBJ? Have you all forgotten how his own ppl treated him When he failed to perform? And during the Yaradua saga did the Yorubas not pressure the north this making way for the prisms boy. We even voted for him when he sought his first term.
if the rest of Nigeria were as pragmatic as the yorubas then this nation would have long been a great nation.
To my ignorance peeps who keep hating on the Yorubas, you're doing so at your own demise. Stop the infatuation and move on. Should Buhari fail to perform then we'll find an alternative in 4 years. instead of fuming on Nairaland for the next for years start fielding an easterner candidate that can do a good job as president and trust me the Yorubas will judge him/her by measure of his/her mandate and not where he/she hails from.
Stop already, a thread like these for the next for years is unhealthy. Cleanse your mind of the anti Yoruba sentiments and God will bless you.

bdidi:
Its so unfortunate when people come up with all sorts of comments that negates the very essence of what is happening to us as a country especially at these trying times.

Factors making us have these austerity measure are not are fault as a country. People shout corruption....yes there is but what has been done to block the corruption.

I read somewhere in her statement where she said something about e-collect and channeling that to a single account in CBN....my people that is a good way of check mating leakages.

Corruption has been in existence in Nigeria right from when we got our independence but with all the actions geared towards curbing it over the years, has it stopped corruption? Rather corruption is becoming endermic.

So the right way to the curb it just like she stated is to stop people having access to funds directly especially those in government. Make the political position not lucrative. That is a sharp change from the usual norm and you will agree with me that is if you are quite objective to issues like this that people particularly people at the helm of affairs would always kick against it. She (Okonji ) affirms to this pustulation.

To be honest as much as I want more to be done with regards to the elevation of our economy, I will still give it to this woman. She is good.

Can people check out the economy in Venezuela and some other oil producing countries? Nigeria is managing the situation better.

We all have to come together as a nation in love and push this economy forward.

We will not understand what the finance minister is doing until there is a new government
Trust me Venezuela is paradise compared with Nigeria. And I doubt other oil producers are suffering as Nigerians are now.
In regards to the e account solution she espoused, believe me there will be a way around it if the same corrupt and compromised Players are left at the helm of government.
Only an original sufferer will claim this woman is doing a
good Job. The fact is Nigeria has always been corrupt but GEJ and his cabinet took it to an astronomical level.
This woman and most of GEJ handlers deserve hard labor in prison. I will pardon GEJ because the guy is truly clueless and nice.
One cannot expect a 2yr old to run a country. That is what we did when we elected GEJ.
Apologist such as yourself need to do time for being ignorant.
