Its so sad that Wilshere might have to go on loan to Burnley . . .why not AW sacrificed their having enuff playing time by not making sure to field a better team against MAN CITY . . .well Wenger knows !

This discussion about Theo never goes away . .

Arshavin slams Arsenal for being a bunch of midgets
Arsenal playmaker Andrey Arshavin feels the Gunners must sign some taller players if they are to compete at the highest level.

The 28-year-old Russia international had a quiet afternoon last Sunday as his side were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Chelsea at Emirates Stadium, slipping 11 points behind the Blues in the process with a game in hand.

- You need people who play with brains more than brawn as far as Europe is concerned, hence why Arsenal is always stronger in europe so long as they do not meet an English team in Europe.

Christian Nerlinger: “If all you looked at was the name of our opponents, and consider the alternatives, it seems a doable task. Of course nobody wants to play Barcelona. I think our team deserves to be one of the best 16 teams in Europe. The games in the Champions League are always special and we're looking forward to them. The game in Turin showed what we’re capable of, but every game is different, and by February no-one will be talking about what happened in Turin.”

Mark van Bommel: “It could have been worse, and I'm happy we didn't get Barcelona. We know Fiorentina from last year, but they've become stronger, so we're not allowed to underestimate them.”

Bastian Schweinsteiger: “Fiorentina easily won a group including Lyon and Liverpool. If you can achieve that, then you've got to be good. We beat them 3-0 last season, but the game also could have ended 3-3. It won’t be easy, but it could also have been far worse.”

Miroslav Klose: “Of course we’re not unhappy. They aren’t easy opponents, but we have the advantage that we've played them before, and of course we remember some of their players. I'm sure they’re opponents we can beat.”

Daniel van Buyten: “Strong, but beatable opponents. With the performance against Juventus we showed we want to do well in the Champions League , but so do Fiorentina. We have a chance to make it to the next round, but it will be tough.”

If he can't shine in a team of reserves, how does he justify his first team shirt and why exactly should he get more opportunity ahead of the likes of Merida who have never looked so crappy?
Spot on.

If Walcott cant shine playing alongside the reserve team, If he also get owned like he was at the UEFA U21 by his agemates, I wonder what the hype was all about

Cesc Fabregas, Alexandre Song, Gael Clichy, Nicklas Bendtner were thought of highly by Wenger - they are going to the world cup and are almost all prominent fixtures in their national sides.
Cesc and Clichy(if lucky) are permanent fixtures on their National sides bench. Bendtner plays for a Grade C country so If Opabunmi can make the World cup, why wont Bendtner

GAYYners are hopelesly deluded.

Walcot 3 years after a world cup is not up to scratch.

When he was played among his peers vs Olympiakos and at the UEFA U21, He failed woefully

Reaction to the Champions League draw:

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: “It could definitely have been much harder. It’s a winnable tie, but we absolutely mustn’t underestimate them. We’ve basically done well against Fiorentina in the past, although they played extremely well indeed in the group phase this season. They beat Liverpool twice, and they beat Lyon in Florence. We absolutely mustn’t make the mistake of going into the tie thinking we’re overwhelming favourites. Our goal is simply to make the next round, so we can be satisfied with the draw. But we’ll need to play very well in both games. We’d be well advised to take our opponents more than seriously – by which I mean very, very seriously.“

Louis van Gaal: “I’m not unhappy, it could have been a lot worse. Fiorentina are a typical Italian team, well organised, with a good coach and a world-class player in Adrian Mutu. We’ll concern ourselves with them two or three weeks beforehand. Last season’s results against Fiorentina count for nothing now. We’ve beaten Juventus, and I think the players will continue to be confident after that.“
