Anaskie: Wow! Best comment I've read in a looooong while. You can say that again. The yorubas and hausas should know that the average Igbo man is only concerned about his business. I can assure you that they don't even care if an Igbo man becomes president. Even if there is no second niger bridge or no bridge @ all an igbo man will get his goods across the river one way or another. The only reason they are supporting GEJ is to piss off the supporters of APC nothing more. |
Ekiti people don choose them don choose. Make una rest for the matter. What APC did wrong was that they thought that by constructing a few roads and schools that the people will see them as the messiah (because them never see roads b4) and rush to the polls to vote them in again and so they left out the most basic need of the people which is their welfare and wellbeing. All these APC people are thinking that PDP is evil but you forgot that the PDP has produced some of the best governors in this country (duke, Akpabio, Amechi (b4 he went rogue)) it is not about the party but about who meets the need of the people. Asaba might not be a model capital city due to the amount of money. Allocated to the state but the people of delta state enjoy a lot from their government and he (uduagan) has done a lot for his people by spreading the allocation to all corners of the state and all aspect of living. Transport, water, agriculture, Bursery, education etc The duty of a responsible government is to give to the people what they want and need and not what you you want and need for them. Fayemi wanted Ekiti to be in the ranks of Lagos with good double carriAge roads and flyovers and flowers with water founatins but he forgot that these people are super poor and despite the fact that they love to see these structures they also need their daily bread, have money to train their kids and have a place to lay their heads. Believe me If fayose can find a way to provide infrastructure without subjecting the people to hunger and hardship he will have their vote for a second tenure. The same thing is happening in Edo state the governor is busy building roads and gutters but he's gradually reducing his popularity because the ordinary man on the street is no longer happy that he's been subjected to hardship due to over taxation in order for the government to fund these huge white elephant projects. My advice to both the PDP and the APC is for them to go into a more productive means of generating revenue that will benefit the extremely poor in the society building low cost houses, agriculture and manufacturing. Mimiko is using this strategy in Ondo and it is working. Construct a few roads build a few schools provide water electricity agriculture touching all areas. Akure might not be heaven but you will agree with me that the people of ondo love their governor and are satisfied with his policies. The APC is lucky that the Lagos state election takes place the same period with the general election. If the PDP can mobilise the slum dwellers and highly populated but government neglected areas of Lagos they may eventually defeat the APC. |

Our major problem was in the midfield. Onazi tried but after that injury the midfleld was lost mikel waas no where to be found. France was not spectacular they were just lucky |
This man need som serious mental evaluation But he's right about one thing though. There's a serious plot to convert this country to an islamic state just as we have in IRAN and why APC is the political wing, Boko haram is the arms wing. |
BEIJING (Reuters) - China charged four people in connection with a deadly attack at a railway station in the southwestern city of Kunming in March, state media said on Monday, a case that helped spur a crackdown on what officials have called an upsurge in militant violence. The government has said eight knife-wielding militants from the restive western region of Xinjiang launched a premeditated attack at Kunming station in Yunnan province in which 29 people were killed and 140 injured. Police shot four of the attackers dead. China's leaders have vowed to strike hard at religious extremists and separatist groups, which they blame for a series of violent attacks in Xinjiang, the traditional home of the Muslim Uighur ethnic minority. "The Kunming Municipal People's Procuratorate found that the suspects were involved in organising, leading or taking part in the terrorist attack as well as intentional homicide," the official Xinhua news agency said, citing the prosecutor. "The crimes of the four defendants are clear and the evidence is abundant," the prosecutor said. The Kunming attack was one of the single deadliest incidents attributed by the government to militants. A suicide bombing in May killed 39 people at a market in Xinjiang's capital, Urumqi. Authorities had laid out the charges in March, but have now formally filed them, paving the way for an imminent trial. The four surviving defendants, all of whom have Uighur names, are likely to be given the death penalty. Courts in China are controlled by the ruling Communist Party, making it unusual for those accused of crimes - particularly in politicised cases - to have a fair trial. Xinjiang, resource-rich and strategically located on the borders of central Asia, is crucial to China's growing energy needs. Analysts say that much of the proceeds have gone to the majority Han Chinese, stoking resentment among Uighurs. Exiled Uighur groups and human rights activists say the government's repressive policies in Xinjiang, including controls on Islam, have provoked unrest, a claim Beijing denies. Courts in Xinjiang had sentenced 113 people to jail terms ranging from 10 years to life for terrorist activities and other crimes, the Xinjiang government said. The sentences were handed down on Wednesday by courts in 11 counties and cities in the Kashgar region, Xinjiang's official Tianshan news website said late on Sunday. It did not identify the ethnicity of those sentenced, but they had Uighur names. Those sentenced were accused of crimes such as "being involved in organising, leading and participating in a terrorist organisation, inciting ethnic hatred and ethnic discrimination", bigamy, drug trafficking, robbery among other crimes, the Tianshan news report said. There is now a "competitive race" among various areas to arrest and sentence Uighurs, Dilxat Raxit, spokesman for the World Uyghur Congress, the largest group of exiled Uighurs, said in an email. "Uighurs who have revolted and expressed dissatisfaction against China's repression are now accused of terrorism," Raxit said. At least 380 people have been detained in the last month in a sweeping crackdown on violence in Xinjiang. State media last month reported a public mass sentencing, reminiscent of China's revolutionary era rallies, attracting a crowd of 7,000 at a sports stadium in Yining city in the northern prefecture of Yili. Around 200 people have died in unrest in Xinjiang in the past year or so, the government says, including 13 people shot dead by police in an attack on a police station in mid-June. |
