The strikes against Iran (joint US-Israel military operations, codenamed Epic Fury/Roaring Lion) began on February 28, 2026.

This triggered major disruptions to Middle East oil infrastructure, tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz (which handles ~20% of global oil flows), and retaliatory attacks on regional energy sites. As a result, global crude oil prices surged sharply: Brent crude rose from around $71–72 per barrel pre-strikes (late February) to over $100–110 per barrel by mid-March 2026 (a ~40–50%+ increase, with peaks higher amid volatility).

PMS refers to Premium Motor Spirit (i.e., gasoline/petrol), a term commonly used in Nigeria and a few other markets. In oil-producing countries overall, retail PMS/petrol price trends since February 28 have been mixed but predominantly stable or upward—driven by each country's pricing mechanism (market-linked vs. heavily subsidized/regulated). There have been no notable decreases reported anywhere; prices either held steady or rose in line with (or lagged) the crude spike.


Data from Global Petrol Prices (tracking ~150 countries, comparing February 23 to March 16, 2026, with ongoing effects into late March) shows this pattern clearly for major oil producers:

Nigeria (Africa's top producer, market-liberalized pricing via Dangote Refinery and import parity): +48.7% — the sharpest among oil producers (and one of the highest globally). Retail prices jumped from below ₦1,000/litre (Dangote gantry ~₦774 pre-war) to ₦1,200–1,500/litre or higher in many areas (e.g., reports of ₦1,330+), with further hikes like ₦875–1,175 gantry prices in early March. Nigeria's rise outpaced most others due to its reliance on global crude/refined product costs despite local production.

Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Angola, Libya, Iran: 0.0% (no change). These rely on heavy government subsidies or price controls, so retail PMS prices stayed fixed even as crude soared.

Russia: +0.4% (essentially stable).

United Arab Emirates (UAE): +6.4%(modest pass-through).

Qatar: +2.7%.

Other producers for context: USA (+23.6%), Canada (+17.2%), Mexico (+3.5%), Norway (+8.6%), Brazil (+2.5%), Indonesia (+2.8%).


Globally, at least 85–95 countries saw petrol price rises (world average ~10% up), but oil producers with subsidies (common in OPEC/Gulf states) largely shielded domestic consumers in the short term. Market-driven ones like Nigeria transmitted the crude shock fastest.


Summary of trend: Since February 28, 2026, PMS/petrol prices in oil-producing countries have increased significantly in liberalized markets (especially Nigeria, the standout case) and remained stable in subsidized/regulated ones (most Gulf and other OPEC members). No broad decreases occurred. Prices remain volatile and could rise further if disruptions persist, or ease if the conflict de-escalates—crude has shown swings (e.g., brief dips on talks rumors) but stays elevated overall. Nigeria has faced the most acute domestic impact among producers.

Even dangote and Joe Biden are not using iPhones. iPhone is a spy! People also don't like stressed. Many people having iPhones is for show up including celebrities. If they're holding the phone or making calls, they have to turn and show you the camera lens it's iPhone I'm using. That's rubbish.
