DanjaNinja:Thanks Danjaninja |
sabiguy:Danjaninja, please invite me to the GRE facebook group. My email is dkuti2002@yahoo.com. Thanks |
Obiwannn:well, i wouldn't tell you to do that. Sufficient practice is key to getting a high score and for you to get enough practice, a mixture of materials would help. For quants, nova, manhattan and gruber plus the official guide would give you enough practice. For verbal strategies, barron, grubber and the official guide should be sufficient. Also, ensure you write timed practice tests to simulate actual test conditions. |
Obiwannn:The first guy who did his back when the new revised test was just introduced and the official guide was the most reliable material scored 160 in Quants and 161 in Verbal while the other guy who recently did his first scored 160 in quants and 155 in verbal and wrote it again and scored 168 in quants and 159 in verbal. As for your mistake in choosing business as your occupation, i don't think it will affect your chances. Worse case scenario is that you could be asked what business you are involved in, just be ready to answer smartly and you would be fine. |
Tekecoms1:If you are looking to write GRE in February, your studying should be in top gear by now. The official guide is even small compared to other materials you would find and the official guide should be enough for you except you need an understanding of the fundamental principles. I know a friend, even two friends, that used only the official guide and scored even higher than me that used other materials. Just ensure you do a lot of practice. |
tunesoft:Don't be sad, you can still dedicate the remaining days before your exam to intensive practice. And don't bother yourself with those words, rather focus on the reading comprehension. |
wow! $700 monthly for GA, that's high ooo....i really don't much about GA and all that but i hope to get one if it's that high. I also plan to study petroleum engineering at fall 2015. Pls can you share the GRE scores that got you admission into university of louisiana at lafayette.....and why did you apply to only one school in the US? |
congrats haffikem, the only hurdle left now is getting a visa. Just follow this link to get information from people who have gone through the processhttp://www.nairaland.com/1869186/general-u.s.a-student-visa-enquiries-part/160 By the way, when did you write the GRE, what was your GRE score and what school in the US did you gain admission? I guess you are for spring 2015 admission. quote author=haffikem post=27935302]i want to use this means to say a very big thanks to DanjaNinja & crew, i actually used the Grubbers guide to self study for the GRE and i got a good score in record time. The initial time i wanted to say a shout out thank you, i was banned for reasons best known to the moderator. The one and only school i applied for in the US just gave me admission of my course of study : Petroleum Engineering Masters concentration even though i didn't have a degree in chemical Engineering/ Geo sciences or mechanical. i actually had a first degree in Electrical Engineering. If not for anything the courage and can do spirit that being a popular viewer of this forum has developed in me. I did everything by myself : from application to submission of transcript and i always used nairaland as my reference. i say a big thanks to again to Danjaninja & crew, You will always be remembered by me. Baba Seun, Tuale as you are the brain behind this entire setup.[/quote] |
please pardon me for my ignorance but i don't understand a word of what's being discussed here and i know i'm not dull. please someone help the likes of me out- what is rooting? why should i root? a step by step guide on what to do before, during and after rooting is needed. i recently scanned my R7 with 360 security and below is what i get afterwards. The question now is how do i resolve this issue as my phone is now slow and it just closes any app i open eg mozilla. Thanks

@danjaninja, thanks a lot. Would i need to know the names and codes of the universities of my choice by heart on the test day in order to select them at the test centre? |
@danjaninja, thanks so much for this insightful information. I'm writing the GRE this month and i just want to ask if you used the gruber GRE 3400 word list for the verbal because you didn't write it in your strategies that got you your verbal score. Thanks |
