lilreese: Can I apply for a visa to join my cousin who is a uk citizen. Do you mean to join permanently or for a visit? Either way, anyone can apply for a visa. It's one thing to apply for a visa, it's another to obtain a visa. |

lexyj123: hello house, good day. Am filling the form for Uk visit untill i got to the section that asked the following questions and how do i respond to it.
1. what is the cost of the trip to you? 2. how much money do you have for this trip
if the two questions are not the same, please how do i respond to them thanks. Let me attempt answering your questions to the best of the knowledge I have gained on this thread most especially from Justwise. 1. If you are sponsoring the trip, this is the cost of flight ticket, accommodation, feeding, local transport and any other thing you plan to do on your intended stay in the UK. 2. This amount can be the same as that in 1 above but it's better to add miscellaneous to it and make it more than 1. In all, you have to consider these costs in the light of your monthly income after tax, monthly expenditure as well as your account balance in order to stand a good chance in securing your visa. |

ecoleco: I have a decision to make and I will appreciate your input:
I got a PhD offer from one of the 'University of Texas' schools and I put this school under my SAFE SCHOOL category during my application.
I also got an MSc offer from Duke University but the funding will come from an external organization. I unequivocally advise you to go with Duke. The opportunities Duke would open you up to is limitless. What I would advise while at Duke is to make the most of your time there by forming strong networks with the students, faculty and the community there and sustaining same thereafter. These will be extremely useful should you decide to return to the US after the compulsory period away must have elapsed. I'm stating these because I personally have a friend whose life has totally transformed as a result of attending Duke. I'm restrained from stating the specifics of what I mean for the sake of his privacy. In fact, I got an application waiver to a program at Duke due to his recommendation. Even though my application this time wasn't successful as I had just about two weeks to prepare and my GRE wasn't competitive enough, I plan to reapply after boosting my scores. Congrats on your admission to Duke and I can tell you that you will never regret going to Duke. Notice I didn't mention the Texas University simply because I don't think it's worth considering even though it's a Phd program. |

isaacosas01: I was in Uyo when a friend went to do her own at Uyo after i told her i had done mine at Abeokuta myself (self processing), she believed it was because "self process" that i didn't get mine so she paid higher and suprising with the non availability of booklet on d last week of January she still got hers after paying some extra money for her own to be printed immediately, it was from her i knew when blooklet is available like now, people pay money to gets their own printed earlier. So there is booklet in Uyo and everywhere in Nigeria i think, so just visit the immigration office and see what u can do.
PS: I don't believe in giving those immgration guys bribe, it was why i did my passport application and everything else myself. Please how did you process the passport on your own and how much was it? Also, please how long did it take to finally get it without knowing anyone? |

friedcorn: Op nice one.
Please people of God, i want to learn the word everyday but am finding difficulty with it. For instance, is it like i will just open the bible and begin to read any book and chapter i see first? Or should i use devotional? Please help me grow spiritually ooo. Tanx Friedcorn, there are so many ways to learn the word of God everyday. You can buy a daily devotional written by a man of God whom you believe or even download a daily devotional app. I personally use the daily devotional from Kenneth Copeland "From Faith to Faith" and I hear it's now also available on an app. You could also buy books on specific subject matter and ensure you read a chapter each day. It's very important to pray to God for wisdom and revelation as you study His word. |

Fhemmmy: Thanks for your time on our thread, you are appreciated . . . . There are more factors that determine the price of a car than just the VIN report: Mileage Style Features and all that and sometimes, when you are picky with colors, prices could be affected.
Give us more information to work with and we will be glad to be of assistance to you. Thanks so much, I'm looking for a car with mileage less than 150,000. I'm not very particular about the other features. Thanks |

Car Talk › Re: Why Do Nigeria Car Dealers Avoid Displaying VIN Information by dcutey: 10:16am On Jun 05, 2015 |
Readonee35L: Because most of their cars are salvages ,flooded vehicles, accidented They buy them at extreamly cheap prices ,Fix them and sell them to unsuspecting buyers... Most of this cars are not properly restored ..some with hidden issues. Empty steering with no airbags. Parts are replaced with fake ones e.t.c buying salavages are not that bad infact in the US Their some cars called rebuilt salvage those ones are properly inspected and fixed to almost factory standards and they are alot cheaper compared to Clean titled vehicles.... You see %80 of cars in the autos section and the nigerian market are salvage vehicles.. they wont show you the vin because they know their cars are not Clean title ... Even with the salvage vehicles self some will sell them with fake custom papers.
Thats why you see A Toyota camry Se With Le Interior remixed The se steering is different its smaller and sportish ,But you find an le steering in an se vehicle so many parts mixing e.t.c even the seats might be that of an le or xle dashboard will be different and so many more ... some Se will even have body kits on the sides and the back but the front it looks ordinary ..
a Guy opened a thread here yesterday or the day b4 about a corolla he wants to buy that one ehn without vin i tell u its salvage interior looks like Le mixed with Ce parts body looks lik Sport..... even the lights and other parts doesnt fit properly and you see gaps...
Thats all i've Got too say Thank You A friend of mine told me this same thing about salvaged cars in Nigeria, it's just so sad to buy a salvaged car for the price of a clean title car. With this information, i think it's better to just buy a salvaged rebuildable car from the US and fix it in Nigeria rather than buy a tokunbo car. |

udeyokay: Please guru in the house. Assuming they asks me this Vo what are u going to do with this certificate Me: I want a career change Vo how? This job is paying you well why would you change? Me: I need to start planning my self, because presently Nigeria govt is on the mission of bringing companies that would start manufacturing vehicles and this would definitely decrease the demand of used vehicles in this country So I will love to complete my education career in the course that I studied then seek employment in any of our higher institutions here as a senior lecturer. you could say physics would help in the understanding of auto crash test in order to ensure safe design standards in crashworthiness because the crash test is based on the laws of physics (newton's second law of motion) since the government is thinking of bringing in vehicle manufacturing companies to the country and you would love to move from the buying and selling of cars to the actual design for improved safety. |

sirRiddy: Ample study time, over three months, lots of advice was sought from past takers, marked determination and I had to shirk girls too.lol The time I had made me have access to eclectic set of resources. 1. For blogs, I was always checking through magoosh and prepcrunch. If I know how good magoosh was, I would have subscribed for the premium package, just 15k. Got to know barely a month to my exam after my first powerprep practice test. Was shocked to have 151v 153q. E be like film. Also, the facebook group was invaluable. I solved questions from various sources there. Try and start practice tests early enough. I took the risk of delaying it due to proscastination which almost cost me. Get manhattan tests for barely 5k and start doing them early, one per month at least. 2. I started out with Barron and Kaplan. I bought both hard copies at cms. During this time, I also had soft copies of Nova and priceton/cracking the gre. The challenge then was there was no stable supply in my area to read the soft copies on my lappy, the cost of fuel was becoming a huge burden. I also used gruber and they have very wonderful strategies. To solve the power ish, I had to relocate to Ife where power dey wella. Nice ambience, superfluous power supply, what else? The king of all materials for me was the manhattan 8 books, which I was only opportuned to go through in about a week, due to time constraints. In addition with manhattan 5lb, these moved my quant score from 153 to 156 when I took the second powerprep. But I was still perturbed as my target was at least 160 in Q. After my second pp, I did not care about my verbal section again. I went to the file section of the fb group and downloaded: ...the official gre guide by ets ....two other books from ets that contain questions for both verbal and quant ....I went through 5lb over and over again. Bought a jotter and wrote questions that were tricky there. This jotter was my companion a week to the test.
Test day: The anxiety before the test day na die. Anybody that says he was not a bit nervous just dey form bravado. I already swore to retake in feb if I had less than 160 in Q. My area is quite far from the central part of lag, na ijegun after ikotun. I had to go and stay with a family friend at lawanson, surulere the previous night. Unfortunately, mosquitoes did not make me get more than 3hr sleep, maybe coupled with anxiety sha. I left home for obanikoro by six like say na by first to reach go determine who go pass. By seven, i had got to JKK, my center. No one was even there. Strolling around, I went to a bus stop and sat with some boys at a motor garage smoking igbo. I returned to the center by nine and I met so many people also there for the test. We were checked in after extensive briefing of the rules. On getting to 38A, my desk, I started my test. Writing was ok. Na the argument task wan tough small. I could articulate the author's conclusion quickly enough. Luckily, quant was the first section I encountered. The questions were quite fair, just lenghty. I rushed through them in less than twenty five mins, making sure I got the three graph questions. I went through each question again, not resolving. I used my calculations on my scratch paper to check and discovered more than 3 silly errors. The verbal na die especially RC. The people wey dey set those RCs na saddist. I just calmly did it sha. I even hide time sef. The next Q section hard die. I just dey sweat inside AC. I tenaciously solved as many as I could sha. The next verbal was ok. Then the experimental section was Q too, that was ultra hard. I just dey laugh sey if they grade me on this last section alone, I would barely make 150. I viewed the scores and I was elated. The verbal scores no too make me happy o but I bone joor. I almost forgot to even send scores sef. Na the examiner talk sey 'will not send your scors?' I sent my scores to my intended schools and left the test center.
My hand don almost break...typing with nokia palasa na die. I hope you intending test takers prepare better and score far higher. I am giving back my experience because I believe it is my duty to do so. Good luck my people. very detailed post and study strategy, no wonder you aced it. Danjaninja posted that he has invited me to the facebook group but i didn't see any invite in my facebook, pls how do i join the group. my email is dkuti2002@yahoo.com, you can invite me to the group but i would appreciate if you could send the materials you downloaded from the group to my mail as well. Thanks a lot. |
