David Silva: "You can stop Messi by working a lot. I am of those who think that the best way to stop Messi is to stop the others: Iniesta, Xavi... Messi is capable of deciding a game alone, but if you make sure he has less support, it is better. He is the best, but he has the best behind him, alone he would do nothing."

Silva Just did a Kompany@the emboldened

I pity them. cry grin
david silva definitely has not watched a barcelona match in a long time.

Lol. that means she probably didnt go to no church earlier. she probably only ran to get the church garments and then took those photos after her dad had ordered her to post the church photos. lol.

Lol. na im good for her. even for the church picture, see as she do her mouth like pig. There is nothing embarrassing about what she did, only immature minds would think that. Infact what i love and respect most about Boma is the fact that she obeyed her dad.

Masche keshocked

Abeg o..make en no even near touchline..we need him against Madrid.

I was expecting Xavi to start alongside Rakitic and Rafinha.
lol. you definitely didnt learn anything from the shockers in this week's champions league. the best team available must be selected for city. if the result is favourable after 70 mins, then the guys could begin resting. anything elclassico MUST be forgotten until after the city match. lets not get c0cky now.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 5:56pm On Mar 14, 2015
i expect the city game to be; alba, alvez, pique, mathieus, rakitic, mascherano, iniesta, MSN.

SO WHY IS XAVI NOT STARTING AT LEAST SO THAT RAFINHA CAN COME IN LATER! TOO MANY CHANGES TO OUR WINNING TEAM, I DONT LIKE THIS ONE BIT!

Unexpected midfield.
it should be mascherano, iniesta and rakitic for city. so why rest xavi today?

Barcelona , we can learn from all these. What happened to Madrid and Chelsea. We have a 2-1 away lead. IT IS NOTHING!

How could one man possibly be the highest goal scorer and highest assist provider AT THE SAME Time? Forget world cup trophies, forget champions League trophies, forget league titles, Messi is the pound for pound best footballer in the history of mankind.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 6:35pm On Mar 09, 2015
The following 5 players should be missing against eiber next week. Busquets (injured), alba (suspended), alvez (suspended), Mascherano (4 yellows), mathiues (4 yellows). Extra caution is required.

How? We are playing Valencia at home, so are they. We are playing Sevilla away, so are they. Just Atletico that we play away; well, they have Malaga to contend with at home. It's balanced.
there are 11 fixtures left apart from the clasico. 6 of them fixtures are identical. The remaining five are as follows : barca have eibar, cordoba, athletico all AWAY, and Sociedad, deportivo home. Real madrid have levante, Grenada, eibar, Malaga all HOME. Only rayo away. That's barca 2 home, and 3 away while madrid is 4 home and 1 away. Trust me eibar and cordoba away will be very tricky.

We finally have what we have always craved for, top 9. There were so many debates in the past as to if there could be any centre forward(no 9) that could succeed in the Barcelona shirt as long as there is a certain Messi who has always occupied the 'false nine' role. Ibrahimovic, Villa were all brought in at one point or the other, and their inability to live up to expectation was easily attributed to having Messi on the pitch with them. But in contrary, the arrival of Suarez (a proven 9) has proved beyond doubt that Messi can play with anybody on the pitch and still get same results. Messi now combines both his and the great Xavi's roles together.this has made Barca more less predictable as we now have good individual players that can score any time any day unlike those days when we had to rely solely on Messi. The telepathic understanding between Messi, Ney and Suarez is something to cherish. In all this, we can not fail to give it all to the best player ever, his commitment to helping the team is second to none, his good spirit in helping the new guys to settle should be applauded. Now we have the top 9 scoring while Messi is still doing what he does best. There can't be a better time to play a team like Chelsea who have over the years proved a tough nut for us because we only had Messi running the show. Messi is Messi and no one comes close.
the best thing that has happened to barca over the past 3 months is MESSI ON THE RIGHT

Been going through the remaining fixtures. We got more difficult fixtures than Madrid. To win this LA liga, we must collect all 3 points against Madrid at the camp nou. We need that 4 points cushion to guarantee the title. God help us.

Xavi and Iniesta starts alongside Mascherano in what I'd call a static, lethargic midfield! Rakitic should have replaced Iniesta or something. undecided I hope it works out alright though. grin
rakitic our best midfielder in 2015 should be on. Enrique smoke the new year's day joint again?

Yeahh I have my misgivings about afternoon matches undecided But I know the boyz would be up for it. We're playing at home and Rayo Vallecano are not renowned for their defensive solidity. It would be an open match and our boyz would make the best of it. undecided grin

Neymar would not be playing though, due to accumulation of yellow cards while Alba and Mathieu are both on the brink of suspension having gotten four yellows apiece. The duo, if selected, must be careful, now El classico is few matches away. grin
Mathieu and alba should both play. Alba must play to get an 85th minute yellow card so that he misses next weekend and plays the classico. Mathieu must avoid a yellow, get rested next week and be available for classico. I hope Enrique has it all plotted out.

Messi is Europe's top dribbler for the past 3 seasons with the highest number of successful dribbles. For this 2014/15 season, we have top ten as: Messi 258, hazard 254, firmino 244, raffael 222, bellarabi 206, choupo moting 200, Ribery 175, robben 172, sterling 172, moura 167. The 'best player in the world' does not make top 20. He's got only 99 successful dribbles. But of course he doesn't need to learn how to dribble does he? When he could just wait to get a tap in.

he doesn't need to score in El classico. All he needs to do is loop those balls over the heads of pepe and Ramos in order for his friends Neymar and Suarez to score. Do you read me over.!

That was the worst performance I have seen in at least one decade of watching my team but anyone yabbing them needs to have their head examined. The team has been superb this year. Sometimes you win ugly and ugly we got the whole 3 points at stake. 2 very difficult away trips and 2 victories. Good one.

On a different note, EPL is shiit, shitter, shittest! Jeez! Are they for real? Did you watch the Arsenal vs Monaco game? Gosh! If we catch Arsenal ehn, make MSN no play that match. We go need bring up Sandro, Pedro and Munir. Yet, I will bet a fortune that we would come out tops.

RIP EPL...
i could remember when the draws were made in december. arsenal had avoided barcelona, real madrid, athletico, bayern and gotten monaco. one billion arsenal fans jubilated. at 1-2 they had a very good chance, but 1-3? it's over for arsenal.

You would agree with me that the solution wouldn't be to choose a different penalty taker. Of course it would be a slap on Messi's face to do such. I believe he needs cajoling, because he has become less potent and lackadaisical in taking and converting penalty kicks.

Make them draw him ear. I feel you because it is really worrisome. But then, taking it away from him would bring up more controversies than bargained for. No one wants that anymore...

Plus, @dippssett, you can't say for sure Messi is the best penalty taker in the team. I disagree with that. How did you know other players' potency in taking PKs? Anywayz, I am not saying anyone is a better PK taker than him or vice-versa. I am just saying you shouldn't be so sure as we have not had the luxury of seeing other players take PKs for the most part.
dmcdad:
Bro... You be king of misunderstanding. Where did I state that Messi should be stripped of such duty? On the contrary, I said it would be unheard of to even try. That is in response to Phil 's agitation as regards changing the PK taker.
Let me rephrase so you understand since you misunderstood that. To say that Messi is the best PK taker is why he is still the main PK taker is a cheap way to justify him. Just put, he is the main man in the team, as well as the assigned PK taker. No arguments about that. But really, there is no way to test the best PK taker in a team. I am not sure if such tests has ever been carried out in any team. PK takers are just selected. Of course from proven squad members.
well, i submit that i misunderstood you if you insist. @ bolded above; the bolded was absolutely unnecessary from you in the context of the argument in was having with philfearon. he suggested messi should be stripped, i tried to counter him with the 'messi is the best pk taker' point, (call it an exaggeration if you would) and then you countered me as well! so reading between the lines one would be forgiven to insinuate that you share philfearon's opinion to strip messi. so pls forgive me.

real madrid didnt have to sample the squad of 23, to assert that ronaldo is the best pk man, everton didnt have to sample their squad of 23 to assert that baines is their best pk man, liverpool didnt have to sample their entire 23 to know that stevie g is their man for the pk's. same goes for man u and rooney. heck like someone said, pique might actually be a better pk taker than messi. these guys see themselves in training and they know that messi is their man for p.k's. if not iniesta or xavi would still be taking p.k's till date. is anyone really saying that luis enrique should strip messi of the right and maybe appoint neymar or suarez? lol, where has it ever be done? there'd be a tsunami in the squad. i think messi is a tad casual with his p.ks(just as he does in front of goal when he gets a gaol scoring chance).for instance, a ronaldo picks his spot and then shoooooooots the ball right there while a messi would rather try to 'sell' the goalie and enjoy the sight of the ball move into the back of the net at snail speed, or he would attempt a panenka. messi just needs to be spoken with, let him add more power to his p'ks and stop trying to be stylish most times.

You Are taking this the wrong way bro..Messi was perfect yesterday..He's been since this year...
....
But as regards the penalty taking,Messi is no longer Messi in the penalty taking area..Its a fact...
The consolation here is that we won,but what if that penalty were to be similar to the one against Chelsea? we would crash out.."make hay while the sun shines" is the relevant proverb here...And stop attacking me anytime I bring up anything Messi bro..
a penalty is a lottery. a player can miss at any time. dont be surprised if messi scores his next 20 pk's. lol. that's how guys clamoured for neymar to start taking penalties! claiming he was better than messi and guess what, neymar missed as soon as he had his chance! i put it to you mr philfearon; i swear if neymar hadnt missed his last p.k, your recommendation would have been pique, busquets and NEYMAR. that's the hypocrisy in all of us humans. i quote you and agree with you when i think you're spot on and then i shouldnt quote you when you go over the line about messi? lol. my apologies.

Am serious bro...Messi has missed 3 pks now out of 4 or 5..That's not potency!!
Its time we choose another pk taker...and Pique is a good penalty taker...#check!
this man you've started again. you just wait patiently for messi to have a down time, any down time at all, and then you capitalize on it. there's something with you about messi. this is not your first, this is not your second. guy abeg hush! messi remains our best penalty taker! he gets casual but he needs some serious talking to.
