natasha: I will tell you that jobs are hard to come by, so also is keeping a job. There isnt an easy job. Even oil/banking/political jobs have alot of stress attached to it. If you are complaining that you work in the rain and sun (yet you hv a guaranteed income montgly irrespectively of your target met) i am sorry to say this; you are LAZY. Very lazy and a typical epitome of the nigerian graduate who feels the world owes them the right to a cushy, well paying stress free job. Do you know how many hours the kids who hawk water/buns etc put in daily even at the weekends all for a meagre 200# naira at the end of the day? In the rain, sun, cold, they endure daily hazards like people stealing their wares, sexual harrassments from all sorts, injuries from feckless drivers. Let me give you examples of life in d uk, there are people who work odd jobs in freezing conditions (-4 degrees typical weather condition for my city) here and end up sleeping on a couch at the end of the night just so they can save up and send money to take care of their responsibilities back home as well as meet the demands of extended family members/relatives like you. I would advise you to suck it up, man up, stop acting like a spoilt child and learn to be thankful that you have a job despite your little work experience instead of conplaining that they didnt give you a car. Do you think its cheap maintaining a car? You need to stop this attitude of self entitlement and change your mentality. For someone who has already earned 600k in 6 months and cant boast of a 5% savings na wa o. Afraid she is catching me (as sum1 i know wld say). Take what u can if u can from my words and i wish u well. jst shamefuly edit dis post, ur type is kemi olunloyo (madam governor), after deportation, next tin is to scatter mouth in naija.ur nt useful in uk dats y ur scouting nairaland,YEYE FOWL |

indianin9ja: OP, as an Indian living in Nigeria, here's my two cents.
Stop calling it "Slavery". This is very misleading, and may incite hatred. I sometimes experience anti-Indian hatred from Nigerians here, and it is misleading rumours like this that contribute to racism against Indians here in Nigeria. After all, you signed up to the contract. If you had any common sense at all, you'd come to expect that the job is hell or else they wouldn't bond you for 2 years. Why would a great job bond their employees with such a hefty penalty.
Yes, you can try to find if they also breach the contract, in which case the contract would be null and void. But I've come to learn that the legal enforcement of this country really means nothing, and perhaps a bribe by your employer would mean that you have no case against them.
Anyway, best of luck. Stop hating on Indians. by slavery in nigeria we mean domestication, hard labour,no incentive,stingy/low pay even wen dia making millions (airtel), and d list is endless. Ds we know wit indian companies,we cant all be lying na |

sweetcheecks: You people just love to complain. MTN has set the foundation and exparts are expensive as they are paid in their country of origin's currency plus incentive for leaving their place of origin. In Naija it includes body guards, transport ( chauffering, power, phone calls and travell allowances. And it shows more commitment to train locals to run their business enlarging the employment pool in the host country. Exparts always have an end of contract dates as they cannot leave their countries of origin for ever. They are there just to train and set up. yes and dats wat airtel is doing (infact d 1st telelcom) most of the foreigners are managers and d number is reducingwhile naija abt 99%,no wonder dey pay d lowest.bt we tnk God 4 bin nigerians na,d most important tin is employment creatn, dats all, and notin follows, job hazard care and compensation, security (if under attack),job benefits (company product benefits for staff) etc are nt important, jst create or produce employment dats all.dis companies are making money piple and dia countries are enjoying d tax (GNP) if u doubt me,shut mtn down and jacob zuma will b in naija same day even b4 u do say it,same goes to oda foreign companies.if u can rememba boni yayi of benin republic was in abuja wen obj closed seme border.simple tin is pay well.someone once said ''a small scale industry has less dan 20 workers and has d protection govt'' fine and good,bt wen u hear mtn having dat amount of workers because the rest av bin outsourced to dealers and contractors, mayb u will understand beta. |

surugede: What he has not told us yet is how many local staff will cease from being MTN direct staff when the implement their manpower outsourcing policy. When that is done, many MTN personnel would become outsourced mainly to the vendors, that would mean lesser pay. weldone,u av truly spkn well, inface God bles u.dis shows hw ur vast knowledge of nigeria is.omo c as pips dey commend dem,y nt wait an c d type of employmnt b4 commending dem na,am sure mactay and cssnl etc will b organisn a jubulatn party dis nite |

D3xt3r: the truth about SPANCO CHANNEL BPO NIG. LTD
I worked in this company for a few months and i can tell u first hand that it was a terrible experince. read this before u apply
I know many people who will call me ingrate but the company is 7 times worse than i. Your starting salary is 35k (and they dont even pay complete most of the time), net working hours 8hour, and gross working hours 11hours, no public holiday, no weekend, no christmas day, no sallah, no nothing just tedious work all through, u get 2day off after night shift at the end of the a day shift. After 3 months you move from OJT (on the job training) to probabation of six months and ur salary increases to 40k, if u dont make it due to some unrealistic parameter set have to go for another 2 months. If your smart enuff to cheat ur way around the parameter then you move to a six months probation period. After six months ur salary increases to 46k + quarterly incentive of 15k (incentive is based also on some unrealistic parameters, u cannot absent for one day. no not for any reasonable reason. To cut the long story short you get the following benefit.
1. Pension (2.5k monthly paid to ur pension account)
2 Medical ( you pay 7% of ur HMO but u there not fall sick for more that 3 days)
3. staff bus (you and ur colleges would be so ashamed by the way u r sandwiched into the bus like school children and you have to leave ur house at least on hour before ur logon time)
4 work incentive (paid qauterly, u must not be absent for a single day, u must have a quality score above 84% (not so easy to get cos the quality assurance team is full of haters), and ur Average Handling time must 140 second)
5. Many other verbal benefits that never gets implemeted
what u stand to lose
1. Most of what is promised is hardly done with force or strike action 2. your salary never get paid in full 3. your pension is subject to so many condition 4. your medical is useless cos most hospital complain that the company (SPANCO) is not faithful to its words when it come to payment, so the hospital compel u to pay from ur pocket 5. you lost your social life as you r always in the office for very long hours even on saturdays and sunday and christmas and new year and salah and sango the god of thunder's birthday. 6. Your r promo to communicable diseases like tuberculosis due lack of proper ventilation, eye and hear problem due to long hours starring at the computer and headset of your ear. 7. the company is an indian company and they r slave master, full of lie and no respect for Nigerian youths. 8. your can easily get sacked at anytime, especially if u complain about your working condition 9. your have no future prospect as there are currently very few positions in other depertments like hr, accounts, operation, QA, training. There currently over 800 call center agent scrambling for those position. 10 if you think i am lying or foolish then check out their history in the following links you can also do you personal search via google

airtel call centre are managed by spanco bpo (ibadan) and tech mahindra (lag/ogun). dey inheritd from zain a minimum salary of almost 100k but could nt continue with it,labour did nt alow dem to just lay off bt pay off dis call centre agents, their team leads etc,dey did a fresh employmnt starting from 29k cus airtel pays spanco/tech per call received (customer satisfied and documented calls) so d more call processed the more money dey get from airtel. nw i dnt weda ur friend is on inbound or outbound (even d pay) bt one thing is certain ''the indians want to spend very very little to get so much'' dey will lay off dos getting almost 100k that are still remaing and replace dem wit dos that just came in (earning btw 29k and 35k) and raise dia pay to almost 50.my bros was in dia abuja call centre.hp di helps bt if d person is ok wit dem,all d best |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: What Do You Think About Jobberman ? by ddjay: 6:21pm On Jun 01, 2013 |
opeawo: At least 1000 people every month since January 2012. That number comes from the number of roles/slots based on the companies we directly assist in shortlisting. That does not include the many hundreds of companies who recruit and don't give any feedback.
The business Jobberman is doing is unfortunately a thankless job. That's fine inasmuch as a few people come back to say Thank you, Jobberman.
BTW, premium affords you more applications. Being premium or basic had/has nothing to do with getting the job. dis na excecutive scammer, well paid by jobberman,if i see any of ur post for nairaland i go shout scaaaaammmmmm!!! |
