Despite the many problems Nigeria is currently facing, popular musician Davido still has faith in Nigeria and he has urged other Nigerians to do the

He made his thoughts on president Buhari’s government known in a recent interview with ThisDay Style magazine.

“I believe the country is going through a lot of reforms at the moment. I certainly don’t believe that two years is enough time to fix Nigeria considering all we have being through. All President Buhari needs is a lot of time, dedication and most importantly, support from the people and God willing he will succeed in making Nigeria great again,” he said.

Politics / US To Host Northern Nigerian Governors In Washington by deadkiss: 6:26am On Oct 18, 2016
Governors of all 19 states in northern Nigeria are expected to spend three days in Washington DC next week at the invitation of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP).

They will be participating in the Northern Nigeria Governors’ Symposium from October 18 to 21 with civic leaders from the Senior Working Group of Nigeria and representatives of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Organized by the institute with support of U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations, the upcoming Symposium is the second such event in as many years.

The first one which held in May 2014 discussed security challenges caused by the Boko Haram insurgency and strategies for stabilization and development in northern Nigeria.

Speaking on Tuesday at the pre-symposium media briefing, USIP Senior Advisors and former ambassadors, Princeton Lyman and Johnnie Carson said the institute’s Northern Governors’ symposium was designed to bolster Nigeria’s commanding stature in Sub-Saharan Africa by addressing causes of instability and seeking opportunities for durable peace in the north.

Describing the country as “a significant powerhouse”, whose position in Africa compares to that of India in Asia and Brazil in South America, Mr. Carson said Nigeria also became “one of the world’s premier democracy” after the epochal election of 2015.

Mr. Lyman, who was U.S. ambassador to Nigeria 1986 to 1989, said Boko Haram insurgency opened “new frontiers for engagement” and opportunity to address the “disconnect between political power and development” in northern Nigeria.

While all 19 governors got invitation to the Symposium, as of last week, only Governors Abdullah Abubakar (Bauchi), Kashim Shettima (Borno and head of the Northern Nigeria Governors Forum), Bello Masari (Katsina), Bako Lalong (Plateau) and Waziri Tambuwal (Sokoto) have confirmed their participation.

Minister of the Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, and Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Kayode Fayemi, have also confirmed their attendance.

The governors and other participants will meet with officials from U.S. government, public agencies and corporate bodies.

USIP’s Senior Program Officer for Nigeria, Oge Onubogu, said the visiting Nigerian governors will also meet with Steve Hayes, chairman of the Corporate Council on Africa and Gayle Smith, USAID director, to discuss project priorities for northern Nigeria.

USIP officials are confident that the upcoming Northern Governors’ Symposium will build on the tangible successes of the first symposium which, according to Ambassador Carson, include the growing confidence of democratic governance as evidenced by the laudable outcome of the 2015 elections and improved governance environment with lessening of the “disconnect between northern governors and the federal government”.

Crime / Breaking News: Man Exchanges Two Siblings For Bags Of Rice by deadkiss: 3:14pm On Sep 02, 2016
LAGOS—An unidentified middle-aged man, Wednesday, abducted two siblings, who were returning from extra-moral class in Satellite area of Lagos. Thereafter, he exchanged them for two bags of rice in a shop at 63, Marwa Road, near Chemist Bus Stop. The children are aged eight and 13. It was gathered that at the shop, the abductor told the sales girl that he would like to take two bags of rice to the mother of the children, whom he claimed owned a restaurant close-by, to ascertain whether the rice was the brand she needed. Speaking with Vanguard last night, owner of the shop, Mrs Silverline, explained that “he (the abductor) told my sales girl that the mother of the children needed Indian rice, but my sales girl told him that what we had was Brazilian rice and that it was good. “Thereafter, he made a phone call to someone he claimed was the mother of the children and at the end said he would like to take the bags of rice to the woman. But my girl insisted on following him to collect the money for the bags (N40,000) should the woman agree to buy them. “The stranger said he would ride on a motorcycle with the bags of rice, while my girl followed with the children on foot. But on reaching the purported restaurant, the owner said she never saw any one with bags of rice, neither did she admit knowing the children. “They walked to Ijegun end of Satellite without any sight of the abductor. When we asked the children about him, they said that the abductor was not their father.” An eyewitness, Ifeoma John, said that immediately the abductor left with the bags of rice, a man who claimed to be the biological father of the children, arrived, alleging that his children could have been hypnotised by the abductor. He contacted policemen from Satellite Division, who took everyone involved to the station, from where the children were released to their parents.

Politics / Operation Crocodile Tears: Again Militant Group Blows Up Agip Pipeline In Imo by deadkiss: 10:07am On Sep 01, 2016
Three months after it attacked its first target, Niger Delta Red Squad (RDRS), the new militant group operating in the oil bearing communities of Ohaji/Egbema council area of Imo State, said it has blown another facility belonging to Agip Oil Company at Umuonei in Awara community.
The group, which announced the attack in a Facebook posting, warned Agip personnel to keep away from the pipeline, as anybody found within the vicinity would be beheaded.
The group in the post by one General Don Wannie, claimed it struck because it has nothing to show for the operations of Agip, and other oil companies in their community since the creation of Imo State. “We have seen enough marginalisation and it has to be stopped,” he said.
The militant group said it was forced to resume hostility as a result of the continued criminal neglect of the oil-bearing communities by oil companies.
“We are not happy with Agip because they have continued to neglect our communities. Since they have refused to change, we have equally resumed the attack on their pipelines and we are going to blow until they do the right thing. “
The group, which vowed to chase out the oil company from Ohaji/Egbema council area said if the state government failed to compel the oil company to do the right thing, it would have no option but to also attack the offices of the Imo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ISOPADEC), the Niger Delta Development Community (NDDC) among others in the state.
It also threatened to attack Governor Rochas Okorocha’s Ogboko village if government deployed any military to their community.
“To Imo State government and their security agencies, we ask you to give our people what rightfully belong to them. You think the best thing you can do is to plan how to deploy security men to our area. No problem… we are assuring you that no security agent will come to any part of Awarra and go without being beheaded,” it threatened.
After it hit a facility operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company in Awarra, Ohaji/Egbema local council area of Imo State in June, the group vowed to inflict maximum damage to oil facilities, if Ohaji/Egbema communities were not given due benefits from their oil resource.
Following the initial attack, the group said: “Oil companies started operation in our community since 1957, but up till date, we have nothing to show as benefit. For Imo State government, we will make sure you make no further gains from Ohaji/Egbema. “Since God’s creation, neither Imo State government nor oil companies have remembered us. We have been neglected and abandoned. No electricity. No tarred roads. No drinking water. No hospital. No youth employment or empowerment. We shall destroy everything in Imo State that was built with our oil money.”
Neither the state government nor the police was willing to confirm the attack, at press time.

Pets / Breaking!! Man Who Named Pet Dog Buhari Rearrested, To Appear In Court On Monday by deadkiss: 12:09pm On Aug 20, 2016
*Suspect being held in CID cell *We arrested him to save his life — Police *I’ll not forgive those that killed my dog — Suspect By Daud Olatunji THE Ogun State Police Command yesterday, said it had rearrested Mr. Joe Chinakwe, who named his pet dog Buhari, noting that the suspect would be arraigned in court on Monday. It also stated that Chinakwe, who was earlier released a few days ago, was picked up again based on its belief that the suspect’s action was capable of provoking an ethnoreligious crisis. The embattled trader, Chinakwe. Saturday Vanguard had exclusively reported the three-day detention and subsequent release of the 30-year old after the intervention of the Serkin Hausa and President-General of non-indigenes in the state. He was taken into custody after one of his neighbours, who was later found out to be a Nigerien complained that the dog was named after his father, Alhaji Buhari. It was learned that the prompt intervention of the elders made the complainant to withdraw the case at Sango-Ota Division. Police sources had earlier told Vanguard that upon his release, the father of two, who hails from Ukwunzu in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State and the complainant were made to sign an undertaking not to cause any breach of peace. In the light of these, the suspect’s arrest yesterday opened another page on the matter that had aroused public interest. However, the state’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen that Chinakwe was rearrested yesterday to prevent the state from being plunged into crisis, adding that the complainant and his sympathisers had threatened to kill the suspect. He further stated that the suspect was being held at the Criminal Investigation Department of the command, noting that the arrest was done to save Chinakwe’s life. In addition, the Police mouthpiece said the suspect, had confessed that he named his pet dog Buhari and had the name written on the body of the dog. His words: “The man is here with us. He is at the Criminal Investigation Department. The charge will be prepared here and he will be arraigned at Sango Magistrate Court on Monday. “He is going to court on Monday because what he did was highly provocative. It can cause an ethnic and religious crisis. We have to be proactive, we cannot fold our arms and allow the state to be plunged into crisis. “In fact, the arrest was made to save the suspect’s life because the complainant and his group have threatened to kill him if he comes back and this may trigger violence”. Further investigation by Vanguard showed that the Police had not recovered the dog which may likely serve as evidence. Chinakwe was arrested last Saturday after one of his neighbours complained that he named the dog after his father, Alhaji Buhari.

Crime / Severe Hardship Under Buhari As Women Sell Unborn Chiild For 100,000 by deadkiss: 8:02am On Aug 05, 2016
A 29-year-old woman from Amasiri, Ebonyi State, Miss Chidimma Okorie, yesterday, stunned people at the headquarters of the Anambra State Police Command in Awka, when she admitted that she had already sold her unborn child for N100,000. The mother of five, who said she had never been married, also admitted stealing two three years old boys at Umuoji in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, with the connivance of two medical doctors operating private hospitals in the area. The two medical doctors, Emmanuel Tobechukwu and Cosmos Ugorji, who the police described as accomplices in child trafficking, were also helping the police in their investigations. Chidimma said she had sold two children since she was introduced into the “business” by a woman she identified as an Evangelist. According to her: “I sold the two children for N50,000 each. I am pregnant and the madam (Evangelist) said when I deliver my baby, she would buy it for N100,000. I have five children, but I am not married. I have not sold any of my children, but I have sold two children, starting with the child of a pastor last month.” She said the two medical doctors were helping her in the trafficking because they had a ready market through a nurse, still at large.

She alleged that the Evangelist brought her along with two other girls from Ebonyi State to Anambra State and took them to a shrine in Asaba where, according to her, she collected their blood samples for a ritual so that they would not reveal to anybody the type of business they were into. We just did blood tests—DOCTORS Dr Ugorji, however, insisted that he had neither seen her before, nor done any transaction with her. He said one nurse, now at large, was coming to his hospital, located at Awada, Obosi, near Onitsha, for blood tests, adding that he was surprised police stormed his hospital and started talking about child trafficking. On his part, Dr Tobechukwu, who said his hospital was at Nkpor, near Onitsha, admitted that a woman brought Chidimma to his hospital for blood test. He said: “This woman (Chidimma) has a medical condition, which I would not want to discuss here. She was brought by one woman, who said she was a nurse. I did not document their addresses because we did not do any treatment. What we did was blood test and they left.” The doctor, who said he was from Enugu State, said he had nothing to do with child trafficking. Anambra Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Nkeiru Nwode, said the suspects were arrested on Wednesday, after a tip-off. She said Chidimma had come to Idoma village and stolen the boys, but luck ran out on her as people raised alarm and she was apprehended. The PPRO said before the latest incident, Chidimma had stolen a child belonging to a pastor in the area. Nwode said the doctors were accomplices, who were linking the traffickers to ready markets.

“Out of the blue, a group calling itself the Niger Delta Avengers, NDA spouts. They kill soldiers and policemen. They kidnap and kill oil company workers. Piracy on the high seas. They asked oil companies to stop operations and pack out of the Niger Delta region.
They blow up oil pipelines, power and other infrastructure. They attack and kill prominent individuals, ransacking homes up and down the coastal areas, including lately, Lagos and Ogun states. All these for what”. Garba Shehu (The Tribune online, 2016).

We want Garba Shehu (Senior Special Assistant to the president on Media and Publicity) to go and get his record straight. Niger Delta Avengers have not killed and kidnapped oil workers, we are not into sea piracy, and we have never killed Policemen. The Buhari led Government knows the people attacking soldiers and killing policemen. It’s their sleeper’s agents that are doing it, so they should stop tagging Niger Delta Avengers to killing, kidnapping, ransacking of policemen, soldiers and individuals in the region

On Negotiation

We the Niger Delta Avengers have not negotiated with anyone. So we don’t know where Mr Garba shehu and General Babagana Munguno, the National Security Adviser are getting their information from. If they have been negotiating with any body it clearly shows they had been negotiating with fraudsters and their (national security agency) created militant group.

Politics / Niger Delta Red Squad Threatens To Destroy Imo Govt House, Oil Companies (photo) by deadkiss: 6:02am On Jun 27, 2016
The new militant group believed to be operating from the Ohaji Egbema axis of Imo State has threatened to destroy all government assets in the state built with ‘oil money’ from their community, citing neglect and gross marginalisation of their oil bearing communities.

The group, Niger Delta Red Squad, listed the Imo Government House, Imo State Secretariat, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC) buildings among others as assets they have marked for destruction.

In a post signed by one General Don Wannie, the group vowed to cripple the activities of Agip, Shell and Waltersmith oil companies operating in their area for allegedly exploiting the community without living up to their responsibilities to their hosts.

The statement read in part: “Oil companies started operations in our community since 1957 but till date, we have nothing to show as benefit and for the Imo State Government, we will make sure you make no further gains from Ohaji Egbema.” Continuing, he said: “Since God’s creation, neither Imo State Government nor oil companies have remembered us, we have been neglected and abandoned. No electricity, no tarred roads, no drinking water, no hospital, no youth employment or empowerment. We shall destroy everything in Imo State that was built with our oil money.”

The group alleged that Imo State Government and the oil companies are marginalising and denying their community of the derivable benefits from their land. Following recent upsurge in militant activities in some of the oil producing communities in Imo State, social and economic activities have been drastically affected. In the Awarra area, homes and villages have had to be abandoned for safety. Presently, schools, markets, small businesses, farms, churches and social activities have effectively been shut down in the area as lawlessness and anarchy looms.

There is also the potent danger of famine and hunger in the next season as the farming season was largely spent on the run by indigenous farmers, which make up the bulk of the Awarra and Assa communities. In an earlier post on their Facebook page, the group, which had claimed responsibility for blowing up two Shell pipelines, promised to inflict ‘maximum damage’ if Ohaji Egbema communities are not given their due benefits from their oil resource. The group, in a post, further warned Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited of their imminent attack.

In its words, “Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited should get ready to observe our witch play. We will let them know that the security they claim to have is insufficient so they should go and hire more because we are coming to ‘launch’ them any moment from now.” The group, however, asked the Federal Government to immediately redress the situation and not make the mistake of taking them for granted. “If Imo State Government and Nigeria think we are joking, to God, we will ‘shock’ them well,” the post read.
