I watched this event live because I was genuinely thinking of upgrading (looks like it's going to be a downgrade ) to the iPhone X from my S8 but I'm not impressed.

The iPhone 8 should've been called the 7s. But they're playing catch up with the S8's model number.

I'm only impressed by the A11 processor, slayed the S8. Unfortunately I won't be rendering 3D content on my phone so that kind of performance isn't necessarily a plus (good for future proofing though)

It's well explained how the Faceid utilises projector beams and illuminators with a failure rate of 0.0000001%, 20 times more secure than TouchID. And it's compliant with Apple pay, apps same as the TouchID

And Apple is playing catchup with Samsung's model number? What does that even mean? The flagship is iPhone 10 not 8. And last I checked S8/S8+ is still playing catchup to iPhone 7 in sales

Kawahi needs to expand his offense and that includes creating more scoring for his teammates. I look at this way, if both players switched teams, which player has the probability of doing better? Would Kawahi's offense trump Curry's if he played for played for the current Warriors? Would Curry's scoring help push the Spurs farther than they have done in the post season? Can Cury win an MVP playing for Spurs? Absolutely!!! Can Kawahi win an MVP playing for the current Warriors? I honestly doubt.

Take nothing away from both players, they are great.

These are players that besides low number of MVP titles have proven themselves time and time again.

Sony didn't want carrier phones in US anymore but still had a legal contract with a company. Most people say it's Verizon cos of the news with Xperia Z4V. Anyway, for Sony to start selling international phones in U.S., there was a deal with that company to not sell fingerprint phones. So they disabled the software.

Sony can start selling fingerprint phones later when the contract is no longer binding. Why? cos of LG v20/G6 and Nextbit Robin have fingerprints on their power buttons and there were no patent disputes in U.S..

Besides, Cupertino did file those patents Q2 of 2015, way before Sony's first fingerprint phone. And lastly, patents are not really about "what" but the "how".

Huawei can't overtake Samsung. The most likely reason is they don't have the market penetration and their ads are slouchy at best. They have the Asian population and competitively priced phones that attract that market but it isn't enough.

Considering Huawei makes Android phones that make up virtually 70% of smartphones, it isn't a surprise they passed Apple. They also produce about 20 smartphones a year unlike Apple that produce only 2. It still wouldn't be a surprise if Oppo also surpasses Apple.

One thing is Apple iPhone 7 and 7 plus are still the best selling phones in the world, 1 year after production. They sell better than all flagships this year including S8 and S8+ combined. That's what's keeping them at the number 3 spot. They dominate profits and flagship smartphone sales.
