Came in via dulles on 31st Jan, was a breeze. Less than 5mins. Was not asked for any doc. Only question was why i chose to birth in the US. I told the guy better healthcare and he frowned, i then said i had my 1st in the US and she enjoys dual citizenship then the guy nodded and wished us a nice stay. Did not even check food. The guy was really nice. quote author=semilore12 post=65198043]Thanks to everyone that has answered my questions. God bless you all. Please any fresh POExperience at Washington dulles airport. Biko help oh[/quote] |

Please o any Maryland mama's for March 2018, abeg let's hook up to avoid boredom. I will be leaving in January. |
Bcpump:@Bcpump. Ok. Am due 1st week in March. Will be using Dr Moore and Holycross. What of you? |
Good day. Any Maryland mama's due in March 2018. |
So sorry Nerf it is well @dserious i told my obgyn dr at Holycross that i wanted one day stay cos i was a self pay patient and she agreed. she spoke to the paediatricians on my behalf and they agreed to discharge me the next day but after all tests run on baby came out okay. Infact i left the hospital around 11pm. Had my baby 9th sept and got discharged 10th sept. Obgyn dr's fee - 2500 was 3000 got a discount mother's delivery fee 3650 deposited 4000 Baby 850 Paediatricians bills vary, lowest is between $75 - $100 depending on baby's need Am yet to pick up the bill, just called the hospital, will scrutinize well when i see it. I chose Maryland cos my uncle here and his wife are so accommodating and have a big house. I also don't have to pay for food (very important). |
thanks to everyone who contributed, i had my baby on the 9th at holycross hospital in maryland. pls i need info on getting baby's passport and SSN. Maryland birth certificates take about a month to be ready, what do i do? do i need my birth certificate to apply for baby. |
hawtmum: I was gonna leave Maryland for Arizona too. But i decided to take d risk, n stayed back. D trick is, make sure u don't spend more than one night n continue to emphasise that u're self pay, there's nothing to be shy about. In fact a lot of d nurses that were present @ my delivery are nigerians. So i kept telling them u know as e dey go, I'm self pay. So any service that is not so necessary i can avoid. And again if u have an uneventful delivery, ur bill is gonna be low. NICU is another thing that can raise one's bill. As long as baby is fine n i mean fine (doesn't need any treatment or extra service whatsoever) n ure fine, ur bill is gonna be low. My cousin had her baby in July n her bill was within d same range as mine. Thanks Hawt mum, how much was the initial deposit you paid? I think I'll apply the same method at HC, will tell my dr ahead that I want 1 day hosp stay. |
hawtmum: Hi people. I thought i should share this info with d house, for those considering Maryland. I had my baby at PG hospital in June and i used Dr A.G Chaudry/Dr Akoda.@ Hawtmum, I went to PG and they said the bill is 10k without doctor's fee and anesthesiologist (if needed). When were you there cos I went there last month |
I finally got into the states on 15th July through Dulles Washington. The officer at the POE kept asking for drs appointment on letter headed paper, I had only a verbal one. Anyways he finally sent me to the customs office were I was warned of the consequences of not paying my bills and sent on my way. Am in Maryland at the moment and would commence hospital runs next week after I have rested. Thanks to all whose contributions made it easier for me. |
