Good morning everyone. I am a newbie just joining this thread. I will ensure to read up to bring myself up to speed but I would like answers to these questions below: 1) Heard Canada has put a halt on the express entry immigration route. Is this true? Can someone still apply?
2) If I did a medical course in my bachelors and I’m about to start working in a different field. If I have a year work experience in this new field, can I apply? Or should I get work experience in the medical field I did my B.Sc in and then make the career switch when I get to Canada. Which one is best?
Would appreciate quick responses. Thanks so much! |

I’d like to apply to Sheridan college, same course you applied for and you’re probably already doing now. Could you please give me your contact (could be an active email) so I can ask my questions? Would really appreciate that. |

Ketima: You came to one of the best forums you can gather plenty of information.
Kindly wait for our walking google( he knows himself ) to be online, he will surely give you the best details of courses and schools offering the courses you want.
Now as regards your education and work experience which are in different fields. if you want to further in anatomy and with 2.2, your best plug is Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate as the case may be as it will hard to get into Masters unless some schools that accept a 3.0/4 in last 2 years of undergrad. This is to show academic progression. Now, for career progression, what is your job duty in the bank, this will enable gurus in the house to guide you accordingly.
When you refer to a good school, do you mean in terms of ranking? if by ranking you mean, mind you it will be competitive and as well could be expensive.
Again as regards your statement on the province that will you likely get a visa, a study permit is not determined by the province or school you applied to ( even though some schools tends to have high study permit approval nos) but is determined and judged by individual applicants submission and as deemed to have passed the eligibility by the VO.
But start doing your own research while you wait for gurus to give you proper guidelines on how to go about it.
Just my humble opinion. All the best Sir, a post graduate diploma in Canada is only offered at universities right? I just want to be sure, sorry if it’s a silly question |

makano: Hello Decluttergirl
Before applying for a Canadian Study permit Visa, you must have an LOA from a DLI. An LOA is one of the major documents required to apply for a study permit application. So in your case, for the school to issue you your LOA, they require you to pay $1000CAD, after which they will issue you your LOA and you can then apply for your Visa with the LOA..
Why go for a Diploma when you can go for a Masters's program(1st class, 2nd Class Upper) or a Postgraduate Program(2nd class Lower, 3rd class).. Yea, some peeps have gotten their Visa with an Advanced Diploma LOA, but as a BSc graduate, you have more chances of getting your Visa if you either go for a Masters program or a Post graduate Program..
Peace Thanks for the advice, can I do postgrad in something totally unrelated to what I did in my bachelors? |

When filling an application form for school and they ask “Is English your first language?” Please what is the correct answer to that in order to not make a mistake. When I clicked the ? Button to read more info. They said “First language is the primary language you learned from birth” |

Omiinii: You're overqualified for a diploma. Why lower your visa approval chances? The course I did in my B.Sc is not a professional course in the health care field and I want a professional course which is why I’m switching to nursing. I have read here that as long as you can explain the switch, it shouldn’t be a problem. Also, it’s not a switch that is completely off base. It’s from Human Anatomy to Nursing. Thanks for your response sir |

kennyjoy: NSCC non refundable $1000 CAD is for your tuition deposit to secure your seat after you’ve been admitted, so it left for you to decide if you want to pay your first semester or first year tuition fee. They are going to minus this 1000 CAD from any of this fees.
To your 2nd question, the gurus will have an answer to that. Peace Thanks for your response sir. |

Hi everyone, happy Sunday. For Nova Scotia community College (NSCC), do I have to pay full tuition ahead or half? I saw something like a confirmation fee of $1000, is that what I have to pay before I can apply for a visa?
Also, what are the chances of a 20 year old with a B.Sc in a health related course getting approved for Practical nursing Diploma from a 2 year college?
Would really appreciate responses to my questions. May God bless us all. |

Good morning everyone. Good job you are doing here! Please I would like to ask if I can get my school that I finished from here in Nigeria to write a letter to the school I’m applying to that I’m proficient in English language? Or is it a must I write IELTS? Would going the proficiency letter route limit the number of Canadian schools I can apply to? Would really appreciate a response soon. Happy new month. |
