elfico: Previous administrations have maintained have signed the order every six months postponing the moving of American embassy to Jerusalem since the 90's when Congress passed it into law. Trump is only doing to please his pro-israeli voters nothing more. All of them made it as campaign promises, trump is the only one with balls to fulfill it... Americans are very pro Israeli especially the evangelicals thats why you have not heard any major condemnation from american senators . |

dimeji877: But i think in a situation like this they will abandon their mutual suspicion to support their fellow Islamic nation. They both belong to the OIC which has also condemned the act. And Saudi and Iran conflict is just a difference in their political ideology which is the sunni-shia stuff, they both hold the holy mosque in Jerusalem in high esteem I doubt it very strongly, they literally hate themselves till death. |

odigbosky: Well there will be uprisings and protest across the Muslim world and attacks in Jerusalem and the west bank itself but it will die down. The Israeli are prepared for the shock, the middle east is not strong enough for that. The government of Al Sisi of Egypt wont do anything because he is from the Military and his government depends on the massive military aid from the US government and she has a peace deal with Israel. The Young Crown Prince of Saudi won't really want an issue with the Israelis because he prefers to have them as allies than the Iranians. The Saudis really hate the Iranians trust me. Syria is in shambles, no hope..right now she is a puppet state for the Iranians. Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza strip are the main threats. once they start shooting their rockets, the Israelis would go on a bombing spree and there will be civilian casualties. Iran would not want to get itself involve with the US in a war because trust me the Russians won't support them and the Saudis would gladly join in the attack. So we are only going to have nothing bigger than what we have had before and sorry to say most of the casualties would be civilians from both sides but majority would be the Arabs....... Abeg tell them, the Saudi prince seems to have taken a liking to Donald Trump sef,and am sure in two days time everyone woud have forgotten about everything and the situation is still going to be the same as it as been, and Israelis still going to have the upper hand. |

elfico: When you think a president cannot be dumber about the fragility of a region, he goes on and do something like this. When the violence starts I hope he has enough brain in him left to realize its on him. Previous administrations have tried other measures and none of them worked because isreal is adamant that there can be no peace deal without Jerusalem as their capital and there are reports he consulted with Saudi Arabia before making the announcement and the Saudis are major brokers in the Arab world,so who knows...might just work |

GavelSlam: No be only CNN na FOX network you for talk.
Your currency strength is proportional to your savings ( foreign reserves) and your debt ratio.
The currency weakened because there was no buffer to support it.
You cannot rewrite history. Jonathan inherited some respectable savings which he not only wiped out, he simply could not point to the benefit of doing so. In fact, since then we've discovered that his wife and many of his cronies became quite wealthy despite not having factories or industry.
I meant CBN smart ass,"auto correct" And on the matter of savings, yes I accept there was wide spread corruption in the Jonathan administration, but Goodluck Jonathan had some of the best economic policies, had technocrats in his administration and was trying to better the lot of the country but he had to contend with so many problems from boko Haram to low oil prices to a host of issues. |

GavelSlam: Who is this one.
If I can save when my income is 30 dollars what stops me from saving when it is 140 dollars.
What manner of Nigerians are we breeding? It seems i have to keep on spelling it out for you,oil prices were low and the naira was losing its value and the CBN had to take money out of the foreign reserve to help the naira. There was a oil boom in the early 2000s,but from 2010 to now due to the Arab uprising and other issues in the oil producing countries,Oil prices went down, and Nigeria which is highly independent on oil was greatly affected and the naira was losing its value which made the CBN spend our foreign reserves, whats so hard to understand there. |
Business › Re: Nigeria’s External Reserves Hit Four Year High Of $38.2bn — Emefiele by deco22(m): 7:47am On Dec 06, 2017 |
TheGoodJoe: Are you serious? Jonathan enjoyed a boom. Shortage in dollars was definitely not a problem during most his tenure.
For comparisons, President Obasanjo met about $5 billion in foreign reserves, and the average monthly oil price for the 72 months he was in office was $38, and yet he left $43 billion in foreign reserves after paying $12 billion to write-off Nigeria’s external debt. In the last five years, the average monthly oil price has been over $100, and the quantity also higher but our foreign reserves have been declining and exchange rate depreciating.
“My calculation is that if the economy was better managed, our foreign reserves should have been between $102 –$118 billion and exchange rate around N112 before the fall in oil prices. As of now, the reserves should be around $90 billion and exchange rate no higher than N125 per dollar,” Prof. Soludo said.
http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/175663-soludo-grades-jonathan-f-economy-says-administration-worst-ever.html Obasanjo did not have to deal with the naira losing its value and falling oil prices, the economy was at its best during Obasanjo last years in office,so its understandable they saved so much money... |

GavelSlam: What plunge from 70 that he met it it grew as far as 140 then went back to 70 is that a plunge?
Abeg park well.
If we ask you to show us what he spent on you would start typing gibberish. You seem to think Foreign reserves are spent on projects, lol,The value of the naira was declining in the reserve market during 2014 or so,and the CNN spent over 5 billion defending the naira... |

GavelSlam: That's what Obasanjo and Yar'adua saved.
Jonathan wacked everything to 28 billion. This was due to shortage of dollar and plunge in oil prices,Buhari made it seem like he was going to reverse it miraculously. PS: Jonathan had to spend to be able to get money back. |
