It all depends on your pickup state. If your pickup location is Lagos (Alausa), within a day or two they will respond, either as registered or queried. It varies around states, but a 5 days should be the limit.

What and what documents do I need to download here and what will be the next step to take? Do I still need to submit the print outs to the State branch of CAC in Osogbo? What you are to do is to download the form, sign and upload back to the CAC upload portal. When it has officially been approved with RC No, then you can move to collect it in the pickup station you chose.

I'm in the process of registering a business name, but there's something I don't get:
Is it compulsory to fill the box for APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION OF BUSINESS NAME
- And CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION ?

If yes, how many copies? I had thought that that the certificate comes with the standard registration fee. . .

What's the APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION OF BUSINESS NAME
- exactly? Is it the same as the approval for registration of business name I got earlier?

I'm really at a loss. . . Will appreciate a clear explanation.. .

Firstly, It is not compulsory to fill it, because when you do, you are simply asking for more copies and that comes with more extra charges. Just ignore it and move on.

Secondly, approval for a business name is different from the application for registration of business name. When you conducted search availability with one or two proposed company names, then CAC approved and reserved one of the two proposed names, that process is called Name Availability Search Approval.

When you proceed or continue with the process, by inputting all your details and making payment for the registration, this process is called Application for the Registration of Business Name.

When the company that you applied and paid for have been duly registered by the CAC and issued a BN/RC/IT Number, this process is called Approval for Registration of Business Name. Apparently, this is the concluding part of the registration process, the next thing is to go for collection.

It was a very easy and seemless process. Just want to know when I can go to Lagos island Cac office to pickup??

You can go on Friday this week. I normally use Ikeja Alausa as my pickup state and it is usually a week or less. So Island shouldn't be an issue.

Pls how long does it take, for business name application to get approved, bc I av uploaded the document since last week Wednesday, till today (Tuesday). it has not yet approved, it keep showing pending approval, and I saw on their webpage that business name timeline is 3working days

Firstly, you have to be sure that you properly uploaded all the necessary documents in a proper manner.
Secondly, it depends on your pickup state, if it is Lagos Alausa, then they should have responded by now.
Lastly, the normal time range based on experience is 1-3 working days.
