We need to mobilise our human resources and use them to produce, all those people in prison for non capital crimes can be used to work outside the prison walls in factories etc, while those in prison for capital offences should be made to work in their prison to create value and add to GDP, secondly I will have a solid mineral policy and law, the Gold deposits, solid mineral deposits, I will build processing units in Nigeria by working with experts, I will end almajiris on the street, out them into skills acquisition institutes, these millions of energy are human resources capital any smart leader will harness for wealth and prosperity, Our civil service will be smaller but more proffessional and effective, I will strengthen the DSS to a high capacity, highly secretive clandestine organisation, they will be in the shadows...with optimum harnessing of our resources and ending public stealing, and ensuring a lethal secret agency, we will create the right environment for investors and tourists to come into Nigeria. One of the most irritating things on this site are the people that defend subsidy retention. It's like they have forgotten how messed up the last 4-5 decades were for our domestic refining.

It's like people do not understand how a subsidy works. Because of the volaitilty of the oil market it means that prices would always vary from time to time, usually on the upward trend, and the fact that all the oil rigs and refineries are built abroad, and assembled here in nigeria or transported to nigeria to be assembled on site...makes the process of refining fuel expensive.

So, with that in mind, refining fuel is going to be expensive, meaning that at the end, when government has budgeted a sum for subsidy, it would have to add more money for the subsidy by borrowing. Inevitably, the borrowing is not going to be enough, so the government has to choose between refinery upkeep and subsidised fuel, and usually it is the latter. That is the story of how we lost four refineries. And why corruption is a big issue.

But telling people this on this site means that you are a tinubu supporter, and hate the masses.

I mean, something that is simple economic sense, means you support tinubu. Make it make sense. So, in 2012, I was a gej supporter when I supported subsidy removal? I mean, you can support neither gej or tinubu, and i do not support either of them or even atiku self, I am backing obi because he at least talks about reinvesting subsidy savings in needy people, not brining it back.

Honestly, on this site, people, even those who should know better, revel in their ignornance, or are far more interested in pushing their candidate, rather than discussing and accepting sane economics. And yes, most people are suffering...I am even suffering under this economy, but I am not going to support something, even if it is my own candidate, even if na may person that says subsidy should come back...that would put debt burden on us, destroy our productive capacity, and render millions jobless because we must have cheap fuel, and worsen my suffering to the point that I would be saying tinubu time was good time..bleargh.


Like see this SDP candidate? Fuel at N200 is going to cost our budget N54 trillion naira. Our budget this year is 68 trillion naira. Where the eff is he going to get the money? Is he going to borrow?

The problem is the stealing of public funds, and chronic, and widespread non accountability and lack of transparency in public sector spending. We saw on TV how individuals were given up to N50,000 to cast their votes for particular parties, this shows the volume of cash they are budgeting for political campaigns and for buying votes. N200/litre might be a political exaggeration, but fuel price for Nigerians can be drastically reduced, if federal government sells crude at a low rate for Dangote and in turn Dangote will supply cheap for the Nigerian market. Dangote supplies direct to filling stations, so smuggling can be curbed. We have crude oil, it make no sense following international market rates. All over the world government subsidies things for their people, this is the work of governance. Some subsidise food and education, some subsidise fuel...since majority of the citizenry depends on energy or food, it is reasonable for the sake of economic growth and prosperity for the people to subsidise some of these essential goods, to enable the people have more disposable income, for savings, more demand power for the citizens and more investments.
