Fulaman198: Is this a joke? I will have to pardon your level of naivety. There are so many instances in which America has wanted Nigeria to fail. They attempted to sell Nigeria broken-down crop duster planes for war much higher than market value. Planes that are worth no more than $40,000 USD and they attempted to sell it to Nigeria at $5 million dollars per plane. I have to be honest with you, but your naivety is exactly what Rossiki is referring to.
They created this country and? What did they do? They stole valuable possessions that have still not been returned to Nigeria to this day. A lot of Nigerian money was taken to the U.K. and still has not been returned to this day, and we can expect never to see that money in our lifetime.
The United States have sent over economic frauds during the time of foolish Babangida to further devalue the Nigerian naira.
I'm sorry but if you do not see the reason why a Western nation wants to usurp power only for itself, then you are completely unaware of what is going on. Western nations do not help others, that is all false propaganda which is what people like you and many of the women in Nigeria have fallen for.
Why have an African nation rise? That would be the biggest nightmare for a Western nation. Something they do not definitely want to see. You really believe that white nations which refer to you as "monkey" want to see you succeed? Wake up! Baba mi, you are a funny man. You are still blaming the wjites for your problems. Why are the Asians developing? Why is India poor? Is it because of the whites? Let me ask you a simple question. Do you support Nigeria to go back to regional system of government? Yes or No |

Fulaman198: India whilst to many still considered a third-world nation is doing better than many Western nations. They have the 3RD largest GDP in the world (only after China and the United States). They are doing much better than Nigeria.
Sure there are still undeveloped regions in India, but that is also the case with the United States and China. There is not one country (except maybe Switzerland, but come on it's a small country), that does not have underdeveloped regions. See this ignorant man! India is shit compared to European countries not to talk of its fellow Asian countries like Japan, south korea and even North korea. India does not have the 3rd largest GDP in the world. Japan is the 3rd, followed by germany and then the U.K. India has a lot of poor people. When i meam by poor, i mean Extremely poor!!! GDP is not one of the criteria that determines a country's standard of living; It is GDP per capita. It is expected that withtheir large population, their GDP should be higher |

Fulaman198: This is nicely said, I suggest that Nigeria stop trying to corporate with countries like the U.S. and England (Kenya did and see how far they have come along). Many of the Western countries genuinely want to see Nigeria fail! This is not a lie, they have deceived a lot of our useless leaders over the years.
Another thing is just getting better leaders who do not deceive the people into this ethnic hating and religious bigotry. The leaders are largely to blame.
If you have been following the news, Russians have been supplying Nigeria with good weaponry and China in a way has developed quite a lot of nice things for Nigeria. I'm not saying to trust these nations, but they sure as heck are more trustworthy than Western nations for trade. Stop saying bullshiit! Why will the white want Nigeria to fail when they are the same people that created the country? You use their language as your official language. The same white people will not want Nigeria to disintegrate, why is that so? Are the whites the reason why you have bad system of government? Why are some Nigerian's against restructuring? Is it because of the western countries? Let me start from you. Do you support Nigeria going back to regional system of govenance? Let me see your reply |

Fulaman198: Singapore does not have anywhere near the amount of diversity Nigeria has. I guess a better comparison would be to India as they have various ethnic groups as well. Indian is not developed also. So why should we continue to be underdeveloped like them? Nigeria will be better disintegrated. |

Igbos claim yoruba people dont produce anything, but we have all seen in Yoruba thread that they are lies. There is nothing you claim you have that Yoruba Dont have more. Yoruba people are blessed. The only thing holding the Yoruba people from progressing more is this useless country. Nigeria will be better disintegrated. Shalom!!! |

naturalman: Can any yoruba man manufacture fighter jets parts....
Igbo's are not your mate
As part of efforts to improve local content and engineering, the Nigerian Air Force and Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company have recently signed a Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) that would see the company produce spare parts for the air force fighter jets. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the move is aimed at intensifying the campaign against insurgency especially in the North Eastern parts of the country. The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who made this known to pressmen in Nnewi, Anambra, explained that the MoU helped the air force to keep its jet fleet running for months. Abubakar, who was represented by the Chief Of Policy and Plans, Air Vice-Marshal James Gbum, said that the MoU would further solidify the collaboration, improve local content and engineering as well as save the country a lot of foreign exchange hitherto used to import expensive spare parts. He said the war against the terror will be in vain if something is not done to ensure that spare parts are made available. He gave an example of a situation when some fighter aircrafts (Alpha Jets) were down; and they were considered to form the backbone of the struggle against Boko Haram. “Due to lack of spare parts, mainly the break assemblies of these aircrafts,” He said. “The Chief of Air Staff (Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar) immediately ordered our research and development cell in Ka’inji to start to research into this break assembly overhaul. “They went ahead, carried out the research, (however) the first proto-type they brought couldn’t pass the test. “The Nigerian Air Force later discovered that Innoson Vehicle Maintenance Company at Nnewi is very capable of collaborating with the Nigerian Air Force to achieve the required standards of overhauling our break assemblies. “The company was invited to headquarters Nigerian Air Force for discussion and thereafter went into research and development collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force and the result was successful. “To this effect, we have reasonable number of these Alpha Jets serviceable daily to fight the war in the North East. “So, today we as representatives of the Chief of Air Staff are here officially to sign a Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with Innoson Vehicle Maintenance Company. `”The Nigerian Air Force considers this co-operation with the indigenous company as very important in producing some of the spare parts locally. “This is in-line with the change agenda of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) and it is also in line with the vision and key-drivers of the Chief of Air Staff.’’ The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, said the company had the human and technical competence to sustain the collaboration. “When they (Nigerian Air Force) came to me, I developed it the way they wanted it and they are happy with it and that is why they are here again.” He said. He added that the MoU will move Nigeria forward because the country cannot continue to depend on imported items and that the company will always strive and remain committed to do anything the Airforce wants. Chief Chukwuma, said that if things move on very well, Nigerians will see reason to always patronise Nigerian products and services. Earlier in his comments, Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra, said the company had been a veritable tool for technical and engineering advancement of the state. Obiano said this when the Nigerian Air Force team paid him a courtesy call at the Government House, Awka. “This great initiative of yours to partner with Innoson Motors in helping you to get some spare parts to service, I believe it won’t be only aircraft, as times goes on you will be able to buy the four-wheel (drive vehicles) that would replace the Hilux (pick-up vehicles) that are imported. “The beauty about Innoson is that they always have the parts and are a phone call away. “I am confident that he has been able to get this big deal,” he said The Governor said that 500 youths in the state who are doing automobile engineering, are now taking their practical in the company’s factory at Nnewi. He also commended the Air Force for its decisive blow given to Boko Haram and the recovery of virtually all the lands the terrorists have taken. He added that all that is left now is a mop-up operation. Highlight of the event was the signing of the triplicate copies of the MoU by representatives of the company and the Nigerian Air Force. Show us the fighter jets you manufacture. |

forgiveness: Meet the Boss: Tunji Olowolafe, chairman, GZ Industries
by Dinfin Mulupi on '28 March 2014' Tunji Olowolafe, chairman, GZ Industries (Nigeria)
GZI chairman Dr Tunji Olowolafe GZI chairman Dr Tunji Olowolafe Meet the Boss is a How we made it in Africa interview series in which we pose the same 10 questions to business leaders across the continent.
1. What was your first job?
I was a medical doctor. I decided to stop practicing medicine in 1988 and I went into private equity just out of interest. I found it interesting.
2. Who has had the biggest impact on your career and why?
My grandmother. She lived with us and she always told me about hard work and ethics. Actually, the way she said it was three H’s: hard work, humility and honesty. She could not speak English so she said it in our local language (Yoruba) all the time. She sang it in different ways and told it in stories in different ways. She brought me up and was my role model.
3. What parts of your job keep you awake at night?
Trying to achieve what I want to do tomorrow. I am always awake because I want to achieve all the time.
4. What are the top reasons why you have been successful in business?
Honestly, I am not sure. I just do my best every day. Honestly, I have not discovered myself yet. I don’t even know what my talents are. But I just know that… most people that I collaborate with are smarter and deeper than me.
5. What are the best things about your country, Nigeria?
Vibrance. Nigeria is the best place to be in the world. There are very creative and sociable people. They understand life and they live life.
6. And the worst?
We have not taken our potential to where it should be. That is a pain but it will happen.
7. Your future career plans?
I want to continue to invest in Africa. Nothing more.
8. How do you relax?
I do exercise. I jog. I do yoga. I run and I read.
9. What is your message to Africa’s young aspiring businesspeople and entrepreneurs?
Hard work and diligence are standards they need every day. They should collaborate with others to accomplish their goals. They should pursue what they find interesting, not what parents think they should do. They should also be diverse and open-minded to embark on different things when opportunities emerge and the call of nature beckons.
10. How can Africa realise its full potential?
By ensuring we have democracy, rule of law and quality education. We need to educate all our people. That way we will achieve true freedom and prosperity.
Dr Tunji Olowolafe is the chairman of GZ Industries (GZI), West Africa’s only aluminium can manufacturer. The Nigerian company manufacturers 1.2bn cans annually for sale to Guinness, Coca-Cola, Heineken and SABMiller. Olowolafe quit medical practice to venture into private equity.
http://www.howwemadeitinafrica.com/meet-the-boss-tunji-olowolafe-chairman-gz-industries/. 1.2 billion cans? That means his company makes billions per year. This is lovely. Yoruba are industrious! We need to have more like this and teach our children that making money alone is not the koko, but making money through legal means is. Oodua a gbe wa oo! |
