The Management of the much awaited indigenous Satellite TV, inaugurated on Oct. 1, on Friday said the TStv decoders would be in the market from next week. Mr Ernest Essien, the TStv’s Public Relations Officer, made the disclosure in an interview with the to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja. Essien said the company had concluded arrangement to roll out its commercial decoders from next week after the successful test run of its promo decoders distributed before Nov. 1. He said that the service provider was committed to making sure that all the intending customers should have their decoders before Christmas. “We are almost done with our test transmission and we are just putting some finishing touches and hopefully by the grace of God, between now and next week the decoders will be out for sale. “We are informing Nigerians that they must enjoy their Christmas with their decoders. So before Christmas, the decoders will be everywhere in the market. “Everything is in place we have done everything we needed to do before coming out and I want to let you know that TStv is still on course.’’ Essien reiterated that the price of TStv decoder would remain at the initial N5,000 with all the packages promised, adding that there would be additional surprise packages for its customers. 1 Like

A 33-year-old man, Chima Njoku, who allegedly used his roommate’s phone to transfer N100,000 from the latter’s bank account into his own, on Thursday appeared in court. Mr. Njoku, who resides in Gbagada area of Lagos, is facing a two-count-charge of breach of peace and stealing, before an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos. The prosecutor, Lucky Ihiehie, told the court that the accused committed the offence between Sept. 5 and Oct. 6, 2017 at his residence. He said the complainant, one Samuel Ogundipe, a military personnel, reported the matter to the police on Oct. 7. Mr. Ihiehie said the accused took the phone of the complainant, when he was asleep, and used it to steal from his (complainant’s) account. The accused used the complainant’s Guaranty Trust Bank application to transfer N100, 000 into his own personal GTB account without his consent, he said. The prosecutor said the complainant noticed that for a month, money had been getting missing from his account without any alert on the transactions, so he went to his bank to check. Mr. Ihiehie said the complainant discovered in his bank account statement that the accused had been stealing from him through his phone. He said that the name of the accused appeared on many transactions that the complainant did not know about. Mr. Ihiehie said the accused had been using the complainant’s phone to make transactions while he (complainant) was sleeping. He said the accused got to know the pin number sometime in January when his roommate lent him N200, 000. The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 168 (d) and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised). The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Magistrate, O. Sule-Amzat, granted the accused a bail of N200, 000 with two sureties, whose addresses must be verified. She adjourned the case until Dec. 13.

FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has revealed which four countries he fears facing with Argentina at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Messi has spoken about who he thinks are the favourites for the tournament next year, and named three European giants plus Argentina rivals Brazil. "I would prefer to avoid Spain because of the way they play," Messi told TyC Sports, as quoted by Sport. "They would be a tough rival. The favourites are Spain, Brazil, Germany, France... they're the countries in the best form." The Blaugrana talisman will turn 31 during the tournament next year, which means he will be 35 when the next World Cup in Qatar comes around. "For now, I am thinking about Russia, which is closer. I hope we can achieve what we want, it's everyone's dream to win (the World Cup)," Messi said when asked whether or not he thinks could still play at the tournament in 2022. "Afterwards, we will see how things unfold. This time passes quickly and there's not much time left, we have to take advantage to keep growing." Messi is his country's all-time record scorer, having netted 61 goals in 120 games so far, with five of them coming in his three previous World Cup participations in 2006, 2010 and 2014.
