African artists are doing big things for themselves and this is no different with young Nigerian artist Holyson. Read more about him below… Born Ifeanyi Holyson Ekwune, stage name Holyson, is a singer-songwriter, trumpeter, flautist, a varied instrumentalist, script writer and a qualified Psychologist. Holyson was introduced to the flute and trumpet by his music teacher, Marley Hanks, With Holyson’s love for music being greater than his parents’ medical aspirations for him, he never the less did not struggle for his parents’ approval; this can be best heard through his new single track, “Anthem of a champ”. As a tribute to his mentor R.Kelly, Holyson brings Afro-beatto life and into the 21st century with breathless enthusiasm as well as a good dose of humour. His songs are based on his life and his experiences often hilarious but with a deeper meaning which documents the struggle of a young African trying to achieve his dreams. He performs in English and PidginEnglish. His songs were sorely produced by Zimbabwean’s bestDj Galid, except “one for you” produced and co-featured by SA’sBongani Fassie, Brenda Fassie’s son, and “Mama’s little boy’’ produced by Nigeria’s best Clefman Steve. Holyson’s debut album, Back to Jesus, was released in 2005, yielding several singles, with over comer as the lead single. This proved to be his breakthrough single and a hit. It also provided his Holyson persona, with the term, as a gospel artist turned to RNB. THE ALBUM Holyson in his 16-tacks forthcoming album ‘’King of your Jungle” has made it clear that he has come to take over. The album consist of hit singles like Skipani feat Pro-kid, Naija Girl feat Angola’s best Jaye, Mama’s little boy, Sunshine in rain amongst others. In his work throughout the album managed to combine a blend of pure Naija RnB and Pop with South Africa’s indigenous Hip-Hop styles. ZIKHIPANI (1stsingle) The deliberate collaboration of these music scenes is made event evident in this first single, Zikhipani (Zulu for ‘what going on) featuring South Africa’s biggest urban Hip-Hop artist, PROKID. This is a deliberate move to bridge the already brewing fanfare between Naija music and the South African scene. This Holyson album will be as accepted in the mains of Lagos as it will be in the Jo’burg urban scene. Press Release |

Afam4eva: I don't know why despite Nigeria's huge population in London, our fans have difficulty making their presence felt when we play in London. I remember when we played ghana some years back in London, there were more Ghanian fans than Nigerian fans yet we have more population than them in London. If it's Nottinghill festival now, they'll attend.Don't mind em mate. Great observation from you. I'm proud to say I'm amongst many nigerian that cheer the golden eaglets to victory in the U.A.E |

Uruguay re enjoying their time. Be strong Eagles we shall fly higher in this game. |
Diasporan: Football is not like that.Weaker teams tend to go stronger as a tournament progresses.Mark my word Nigeria will be the only team in the group that will beat them with that huge margin.Spain might not score more than 4 or 5 goals.I can bet my next salary on thatBROS u re very intelligent. Tahiti will gather .ore confidence and fight harder against Spain and uruguay. Bless. |
