Calculator = 4
Clock = 10
Bulb = 5

4 + (10 x 5) = 54

Correct

From the image:
⏰ + ⏰ + ⏰ = 30
→ Each clock = 10
⏰ + 💡 + 💡 = 20
→ 10 + 2 bulbs = 20
→ 2 bulbs = 10 → Each bulb = 5
💡 + 🧮 + 🧮 = 13

In a busy campus town, there was a small shop just outside a tertiary institution called “Corner Store.” Students passed through it every day—morning rush, afternoon hunger, evening exhaustion.

One afternoon, Tunde walked in with full confidence.

“Ah yes, I know what I want,” he said, already halfway to the snack aisle.

He picked up noodles, paused… and stared into space.

Amina, the shopkeeper, smiled. “You’ve forgotten again, abi?”

Tunde laughed awkwardly. “No, no. I remember. I just… give me a minute.”

He stepped aside, checked his phone, replied to a message, scrolled briefly, then returned to the shelf.

“Okay… I wanted… something small. Something I saw before I entered here.”

Amina raised an eyebrow. “What did you see?”

“I don’t know o,” he admitted. “I just know I wanted to buy something.”

This wasn’t new. Every day, students came in like that—entering with clear intention, then suddenly losing it the moment they crossed the doorway.

Some would even insist they knew what they wanted, but when asked to explain, they would struggle. If you said, “Show me the picture,” they’d laugh nervously or say, “I’ll remember it now,” and then stand there blank.

It became so common that Amina started calling it “doorway forgetfulness.”

One evening, a final-year psychology student, Zainab, came in observing the pattern. She didn’t just buy her items—she watched people.

Later she said, “It’s not magic. It’s overload.”

And she was right.

---

### What is really causing this in tertiary institutions?

This “forgetting in the store” problem is usually not a memory failure in the deep sense. It is a **working memory and attention breakdown**, made worse by student life conditions.

Here are the main reasons:

**1. Cognitive overload**
Students juggle lectures, assignments, finances, relationships, and survival thinking (“what will I eat?”). The brain keeps too many open tabs at once, so small intentions—like what to buy—drop off easily.

**2. Digital distraction**
Constant phone use trains the brain to switch attention rapidly. So even a simple walk into a shop is interrupted by notifications, scrolling, or messages, breaking the original thought chain.

**3. Transition effect (“doorway forgetting”)**
When people move from one environment to another (outside → shop), the brain treats it like a scene change. Sometimes it resets short-term intention storage, especially if the intention wasn’t strongly rehearsed.

**4. Stress and mental fatigue**
University life often comes with pressure—deadlines, exams, financial stress. Stress reduces working memory efficiency, making it harder to hold even simple intentions.

**5. Sleep deprivation**
Many students sleep poorly. Lack of sleep directly weakens attention, recall, and decision stability. A tired brain forgets “small intentions” first.

**6. Habitual multitasking**
Students often try to think, walk, chat, and browse phones simultaneously. This weakens focus encoding—so intentions are never deeply “saved” in memory.

---

### The simple truth

Most of the time, people didn’t truly “forget” what they wanted.

They never fully *stored it strongly enough* in the first place.

It was a fragile thought, passing through a distracted mind—and the moment something else competed for attention, it vanished.

That’s why in places like tertiary institutions, where life is fast, noisy, and mentally crowded, even a simple trip to a nearby store can turn into:

> “Wait… what did I come here to buy again?”

illicit:

The answer is 70

Yes

Try again

You can do better

If you think fragrance is just for covering bad smells, this will change your mind.

But if you want to understand how scent can transform your space and mood, you are in the right place.

A good air freshener is not noise.
It is atmosphere.

Products like Aer Air Freshener don’t just spray scent—they create a consistent, inviting environment through slow, lasting fragrance release.

Here is what most people don’t know:
Smell affects emotion, comfort, and even how long people stay in your space.

A fresh space feels:
Calm
Clean
Welcoming

Whether it’s your home, office, or shop, the right fragrance quietly tells people:
“You are comfortable here.”

I don’t recommend overpowering scents.
I don’t recommend quick fixes.
I recommend balance, consistency, and quality.

Because…
A space that smells right doesn’t just look good.
It feels right.

If you care about comfort, mood, and first impressions—
Fragrance is not optional.

It is essential.
