The United Kingdom parliament is currently debating sanctions to hand out on Nigerian Government


The UK parliament is currently debating sanctions to hand out on Nigerian Government officials involved in the killing of peaceful protesters in Lekki on October 20 and other parts of the country. Members of parliament are looking to impose direct sanctions on government officials, who played a role in violating human rights during the protest instead of a general economic sanction that may affect ordinary citizens. Also, one of the Parliament members revealed how General Yakubu Gowon, during his time, literally carted away half of Central Bank of Nigeria to United Kingdom. He further stated that UK Parliament needs to use their power to stop those who are taking the wealth of Nigeria and hiding it in the UK.

EndSARS VIDEO: Nigeria Army threatens to Repeat Same action at Lekki Tollgate If Situation Arises Again The Nigerian Army has said that it will repeat same action it took at the Lekki Toll Gate anywhere in the country if such a situation arises again. Ibrahim Taiwo, Commander of 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, disclosed this on Saturday while testifying before the judicial panel the Lagos State Government set up to probe the incident. On the night of 20 October, 2020, at about 6:50pm, operatives of the Nigerian Army opened fire on peaceful #EndSARS protesters at the toll gate, killing an unconfirmed number of people. Despite evidence of people being killed and injured at the Lekki incident, the army had maintained that blank bullets were used on protesters. While being cross examined by Olumide Fusika, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Taiwo said given the same circumstance, the army would act in a similar way to that of October 20, 2020. He insisted that there was no shooting of live ammunition at protesters.

VIDEO: Niger Delta Strong Man Dares Buhari, Sends Him Serious Warning Peter Timothy Igbifa, the President of the Ijaw Youth Council World Wide (IYCWW), is furious with President Muhammadu Buhari and his cabinet members for shunning a meeting in Port Harcourt on Tuesday. He grabbed the microphone and addressed a small crowd of eminent Nigerians consisting of all the South-South governors and top traditional rules. He swore that the Niger Delta region has the capacity to shut down the Nigerian economy which is largely dependent on oil. He boasted that the EndSARS crisis would be a joke compared to the havoc the Niger Delta citizens could inflict on Nigeria if care isn't taken. Recall that Governors of the South-South led by its chairman and Governor of Delta, Ifeanyi Okowa, who were in Port Harcourt for the meeting, had informed other leaders comprising traditional rulers, religious leaders, opinion leaders, youth and women from the zone that the presidential delegation which convened the meeting, had cancelled it. Mr Okowa, who spoke for the governors, informed the people that the Presidency gave an emergency security meeting called by President Muhammadu Buhari as the reason for cancelling the Port Harcourt meeting. Irked by the information, the leaders expressed displeasure with the development, describing it as disrespect to the people of the region and called for an immediate public apology from the Presidency.
