It is sad that we really love taking risks in this country, this is not the first time boat mishaps have been happening in various rivers & dams in Nigeria and the passengers die while some go missing due to negligence of life jackets. Why would school children like this be taken on a boat ride excursion without proper arrangement of life jackets for the pupils?

While some self appointed spokespersons of the north are online spearheading a smear campaign against Peter Obi’s kind gestures in the north, the real northerners influencers are full of praises for Obi for bringing such intervention from his private purse.

When I say real northern influencers, I’m talking about opinion shapers. Men who sit on same table with men that matter in the north. Men who get invited by Television and Radio stations to share their views on socio-political issues.

First it was Shehu Sani who came to Obi’s defense. And now Mahdi Shehu.

For context purposes, Mahdi Shehu was one of Atiku’s foremost campaigners in the last general election. He went on TV to call Peter Obi so many unprintable names including accusing him of pursuing IPOB agenda.

That Mahdi Shehu is praising Obi while threatening the current crop of leaders from the north is a wonder to me.

But it can only mean one thing - the north is realigning.

So, while you sit on your keypad and criticize, the real men of the north are saying thank you to Peter Obi.

The FCT police command has apprehended a notorious armed robbery kingpin named Chukwuemeka Oputa, also known as Pounds and Dollars, along with four other members of his gang. 100%. I haven't seen an hospital with free Parking in all the provinces I have lived in Canada. Even the ambulance people talk about is not free. An ambulance ride would cost around 200 - 400 dollars.

People should just protest that government bring the subsidy back and development can be pushed back to the next government like we have always done, but all these comparison of wages and bills from different countries doesn't make much sense to me.

I tire for some Nigerians o. They want to eat their cake and still have it..

Even transport being subsidized that he talked about would likely be for the extremely poor people in the society, and they would still pay a significant amount.

Parking at Public hospitals is free in Nigeria, in some of the countries like Canada, you pay for parking. So how can Nigeria develop like Canada when we want most public utility and facilities free? We have to chose one, either freebies or underdevelopment. We can't have both.

Apart from this emotional blackmail that some Nigerians are known for, what is the sense in this? Is Dublin subsidizing their Education, healthcare and other things too? You get many Public services almost for free, yet to pay for it will result into abuses, curses etc as if abuses and curses will provide necessary development.

Can't the govt find an alternative route for the road? Spending 200 million dollars in one single compensation for a road that will cost a total of 841 million dollars in my opinion is not a wise decision.
