So are we not crude producers? Why can't we sell to dangote refinary crude at reduced price for local consumption? Ie just as paying dangote to refine crude for our own use, abi what is the advantage of being a crude oil rich country?

Selling to Dangote below market rate means we are subsidizing the product. We all agreed that subsidy has a crippling effect on the economy. Nigeria simply cannot afford to be borrowing to support fuel consumption for 220 million people.

It is not so much about the price, it is the purchasing power. How many people can afford the N1,080 then?

Do you know that oil extraction is a business by private companies in Nigeria? They price the crude based on cost and going market rates. Oil business is not charity . Buying in Naira does not mean you will not buy the naira equivalent. The price keeps fluctuating. Never static and that is what you see all over the world. You need to get out of the mindset of govt fixing prices of petrol, dollar rate etc.
