The recruitment exercise was skewed to favour Esso contract staff. I heard from the grapepevine that an additional slot is being considered for some experienced roles ie reservoir engineer, subsea engineer. A glimmer of hope for folks who applied to these roles and made it to the interview stage

Interviews have been conducted for this role(graduate wells offshore operations supervisor). A close friend got an invite

Maybe he or she wasn't qualified for those roles.
Some GT candidates applied for EH roles by filling false information on the application without meeting the minimum requirements. However they were invited for test because they ticked the right responses to the job related questions which the AI system screened solely.
When profile/CV review by Global recruiter commenced they got rejected.

Candidly I had a soft spot for the Graduate Wells Offshore Operations Supervisor role since it dovetails perfectly with my previous role at ExxonMobil QIT/OSO, but was sadly encumbered by Dragnet's technicality from being shortlisted for aptitude test. So I was left with a Hobson's choice of EH roles

To whoever cares to listen,the ExxonMobil Nigeria recruitment exercise is 65% merit and 35% 'connection'.While you focus on the merit angle also try and play the politics involved in their recruitment exercise. As long as you have Nigerians as part of the so called global recruitment team, you can never get a level playing field

It appears all EH have either received regret mails or interview invites.The focus is now on the GTs

Any update about Emergency Preparation and Response Lead role? It appears they're done with EH

Has anyone in your role be shortlisted? What role did you exactly write for ..if everyone has been invited for the role you write for that means you could be a backup candidate, all we needed to do is prepare like you will be invited so as not to be surprised when it comes eventually

Wells Operations Integrity Advisor
Emergency Preparedness and Response Lead

I wrote aptitude & skills test for Wells operations integrity Advisor only.My status for the three roles still shows "Application Received "

@ennyjo1 should be in the right position to answer that. There's Graduate wells offshore operations supervisor and there's wells operations integrity advisor. I don't know the one he's referring to. But I think it's the latter cos it appears they are attending to EH guys first. The whole process is really confusing sha. The HR guys might even be confused sef.

My status for the 3 openings I applied to remain "Application Received " even after writing the Aptitude test and skills test for one of the positions I was shortlisted and no regret email received from ExxonMobil.Could you help interpret my job status

Didyouknow: I talked to someone in nlng hr last friday, and he confirmed that they haven't gotten across to anyone yet because they received so many applications. Moreover, it seems they are more busied up with the entry level recruitment currently going on.

dsaynt: Are you trying to tell me that NLNG pays higher than Total, Agip and Chevron? I doubt that. They pay well but not as much as the IOCs. Don't forget that the staff of NLNG are made up of staff of these OICs.
Can some tell me the highest paying by sector? i.e.
Manfacturing: Top 5
Telcoms: Top 5
Oil & Gas (multinationals): Top 5
Oil & Gas (local): Top 5
Banking/Financial Services: Top 5

for experienced engineering(Degree)positions none of the IOC's can match NLNG in terms of salaries...well may be Total

AllGood: Finally, the application process for 'NLNG Experienced Hire - September 2013' closed yesterday 07/10/13 as evident on http://www.nlng.com/PageEngine.aspx?&id=118. Though an experienced hire, it was noted that there could be a job Test as there was the option of choosing a desired Test Centre.

So while we wait to hear from NLNG on the next step (probably the Test) in the recruitment process, could we please use this forum to share tips, ideas, updates et al. that could aid our successful applications.

I have a feeling that aptitude test might be waived since the positions advertised are for experienced hires
