I don't know why some people will be hell bent on turning things upside down in the name of criticism. How on earth can a 737 BBJ in PAF cost more or equals 737 commercial variant in operational expenses.
Boeing 737 BBJ was designed as an ER aircraft for private high net worth individuals, needed only 4-8 crew members to operate, can save up to 5 to 10% fuel compared to it's commercial variant, thanks to it's blended winglet and other modifications. It consumes between 2800-3200 litres of jet fuel per hour, it has room for 25-50 passengers. This craft will not gulp more than USD 20,000 in cost for a six hours flight. My opinion though.
One thing I like about Shehu Garba and Femi Adesina is the way they respond to allegations, no matter how trivial or stupid they look, with facts and figures ( though they might be lying) unlike Doyin Okupe and Rueben Abati ( these guys wrecked GEJ) that will respond with insults and childish tantrums.
To me this change is getting better everyday, transparency in governance, plus the fact that I can now buy diesel for #110 to power my gen. set for business. But Baba please sell some of those aircraft on PAF, we need the money now.

A vip aircraft like NGR001 will accomodate for high fuel capacity in case of emergency if need require it to divert and also to get to any destination around the world without need of stopping to refuel on the way.

Fuel adds to the weight and cost of operating the aircraft!

The same jet only as per the fuselage and manufacturer but totally different in class and cost.

By using the operational cost for commercial 737 we can assume that NGR 001 will be slightly more expensive to operate and maintain.

a commercial jet has provisions of more seats from 160 and above while a business jet like eagle one can't have more than 50-60 seats.its inconceivable to assume a business jet costs more per flight than a business jet.its outright false.a passenger flight has to input so many fees into its hour such as hangar fees,pilot and flight attendants fees,luggage per passenger and other fees to regulatory and airport agencies.the presidential aircraft doesn't contend with such.it foesnt pay hangar fees neither does it pay pilots since they are seconded from the Nigerian airforce.there is rarely ever any luggage to carry so I would agree with the cost of operation per hour of 4,404doLlars per hour.

I can understand the frustration of nigerians when we hears billions been expended on presidential crafts and I quite agree the PAF should be reduced to a maximum of 2 aircrafts but that doesn't mean we should turn fact on its head.eagle one isn't airforce one which is supposed to be an office on its own and costs $181,000 per hour to operate.but despite its high cost,it is a necessity for the POTUS just as eagle one is a necessity for the office of the president of Nigeria.
