One report from Statista says Insurance penetration rate in Nigeria is only 0.5% compared to that of South Africa 17%, Namibia 7%, Zimbabwe 4%. Among Sub-Saharan Only 5 countries, only 5 countries (Central Africa, Congo, Chad, Guinea, Equatorial Guinea) are below Nigeria. Nigerian economy is the biggest in Africa, but insurance is last but 5. Large part of 0.5% is made of motor insurance which is compulsory in the country. And it is also notable that even rich people are not usually buying insurance. What are the factors of low insurance rate, do you think? It is also questioned, while low income people have no extra money to pay for insurance, WHY the richer people are not buying insurance? |

Among Nigerian insurance companies, 4 companies are selected to be the most busy in web traffic in terms of number of visits, as at end of December 2019, according to Allexa Web Traffic (from January 2018 to December 2019). https://makers-online..com/2020/03/web-traffic-top-4-nigerian-insurance.html Above is only the web traffic, and am not quite sure yet which insurance company is serving really GOOD. Can you tell Which is the Best Insurer, and WHY? |

Since partial lockdown started in compliance with the directives of the Lagos state government to curb spread of Covid-19, people are rallying into the online markets where they feel safer than physical markets. As we can not expect how long the pandemic will last, it will be good to have ideas about online shopping websites available in Lagos. Online Shopping Websites Available in Lagos It is sure that most Nigerian know about Jumia, Jiji and Konga of which advertisements can be seen wherever they go. But it is also nice to know how many people are buying in each of them because it may tell us how popular the websites are. Estimated Monthly Visits per Website: 1. Jumia: 15,800,000 (online marketplace) 2. Jiji Nigeria: 3,860,000 (online marketplace) 3. Konga: 3,010,000 (online marketplace) 4. VConnect Nigeria: 457,000 (online service marketplace) 5. Slot: 352,000 (Selling Phones, computers, electronics, home and kitchen ware) 6. Kara: 107,000 (Selling Phones, computers, electronics, home and kitchen ware) 7. supermart.ng: 62,500 (Selling Groceries: Mainly in Victoria Island, Lekki, Lagos Island) Other than the online giants above, some small startups also can be found. 8. pricepally.com (https://pricepally.com/) They are selling Food and Foodstuff 9. onedotstores.com (https://www.onedotstores.com/) They are selling foods, confectionery, frozen, fresh, village foodstuff 10. myfoodwarehouse.com (http://www.myfoodwarehouse.com/) They are selling all foodstuff 11. mile12mart.com (https://mile12mart.com/) They are selling fresh foods, fruits, vegetables But to my regret, the number of visits to these small websites couldn't be found. History of Web Traffic It is also useful to see the history of above major online shopping malls, as it may tell us how they have served people in the past and if they are losing or gaining customers.
