Founder/CEO LawStriveNigerian startup LawStrive has launched a platform that aims to make legal service accessible in a faster and cheaper way.
Launched in March, LawStrive provides a single platform where users can connect with lawyers almost instantly, get answers to questions, and get their jobs done.
The startup was formed after co-founders Odunayo Adesokan and Samuel Olabamiji realised the convoluted means by which most Nigerians went about obtaining the services of a lawyer.
“You would have to ask someone, and that person will ask another person and then they may finally get a phone number to call. This may take between two and three days, and we thought if we could make people talk to lawyers instantly, yeah, that would be nice. So, we started LawStrive,” Olabamiji told Disrupt Africa.
“We also observed that several people are not sure what the law says about certain situations and they would love to understand the facts, but they don’t have anyone to ask. Now they can.”
LawStrive has not received any form of funding as yet, but is open to investment.
“We have crossed the early adopter lines and we are hoping to growing rapidly, we now have lawyer from all the major business hubs in the country,” Olabamiji said.
“Startups and new companies that cannot afford to employ a lawyer internally are coming to us to get lawyers to assist them with registration and legal documents. Law firms are also reaching out to us for partnership. Right now, we have about 50 lawyers with varied areas of specialisation.”
LawStrive has so far served clients in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Oyo and Ekiti states, and plans to have lawyers working with it in every state.
“We also plan to expand to other some African countries, especially Ghana, Kenya and South Africa,” said Olabamiji.

Oresegun Olumide is a Nigerian hyper-realistic artist. On 8 March 2016, he received media attention in Nigeria and beyond after he posted some of his oil on canvas paintings on social media website Facebook. Born in Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos, Olumide's love for drawing and painting started when he was 4. He is an alumnus of Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos where he graduated with a distinction in Fine Art. He cites Pablo Picasso and Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni as his role models.
These hyper-realistic photos are actually oil paintings By Esra Gurkan, for CNN.
Nigerian artist Oresegun Olumide is taking the internet by storm His artwork is so realistic that it's hard to believe they're not photographs He uses water as a recurring theme and paints people from his local community
Water droplets slide down the faces of children as they stare directly at what you could easily believe is a camera. In fact, they are all paintings by Lagos-born Nigerian artist Oresegun Olumide. The hyperrealism created in the oil paintings makes his work seem so life like that it is hard to believe they aren't.
With over 18.7k followers and counting on Instagram, his work is fast gaining momentum online. Read about Nigerian breadseller turned supermodel Water is a recurring theme in his art because according to a popular adage in his native Yoruba language, "water has no enemy," Olumide told CNN.
The use of water gives a translucent effect and, he says, is "why it's difficult for many people to do." Olumide pushes himself to create art that his community hasn't seen before and that is challenging for him. He became interested in art at the age of four and started professionally creating art in 2005, Olumide said. The 35-year-old majored in Fine Art at the Yaba College of Technology , Lagos, graduating with a distinction. Drawing inspiration from his community, he is creating pieces that reflect the lives of those around him. His work, he says, is "a gradual process," taking around two to three weeks to create individual pieces. "And depending on the intricacy I want to achieve, it can take a couple of months," he added. https://sundayadelajablog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Oresegun-Olumide-2.jpghttps://i.ytimg.com/vi/a1VIQDaGa7M/maxresdefault.jpghttps://venturesafrica.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/sane1.png |

https://venturesafrica.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/kola.jpgCo-founder and lead engineer at FundaAt Funda, we develop learning management systems and provide content development services to higher institutions to take their courses online so that the general public can access them at a cheaper price," says Nigerian-born Kolawole Olajide, one of Funda's founders. The flexibility that comes with e-learning is just one of the many reasons Olajide says the online education tool has found success. Where electronic waste becomes art
"It's responsive to the students' schedules," says the 22-year-old entrepreneur. "But also managers who want to do courses but are too busy to do them can now use [Funda] and sign in when they get back from work and access the resources online." Olajide came up with the concept for Funda -- which means "to learn" in Zulu -- at university when he found he couldn't take school home. He had hoped to start the company in his homeland of Nigeria, but the obstacles were too great. "It was very difficult because they were not digitally ready," he recalls. "They did not understand what I was trying to do. The second problem I faced was internet penetration in the country. I thought South Africa was more stable so Funda had a higher chance of success there because many people already have the Internet." Alongside four other young entrepreneurs -- Kennedy Kitheka (Kenya), Jason Muloongo (Zambia), Sameer Rawjee (South Africa) and Kumbirai Gundani (Zimbabwe) -- the e-learning portal took shape and each founder provided a different perspective for the startup. None are over the age of 25, yet these innovators are simply doing what is natural to the millennial generation -- using technology to find solutions to problems they've experienced. "We bring together the problems we've seen in different parts of Africa and we are all trying to create together solutions to the problems we have experienced in different parts of the continent," says Olajide. He adds: "I was aware of user experience because user experience of technology in Nigeria was not very good. One of the other partners was keen on developing the mobile application because he said in his area of the world, there are more mobile users. So we are bringing together solutions made by the problems we've faced in Africa." Olajide explains that Funda offers a free mobile app that can be downloaded to a user's smartphone. Students can access the e-learning portal via a keycode provided by the university they are registered to. "At the moment, [mobile] is very limited. Mobile phones are good for getting your results, educators checking attendance reports and all that stuff. But the real core experience is from the desktop machine." Since its launch in 2009, Funda has been recognized by several international bodies, including the United Nations Development Programme and the World Economic Forum. It has also received a number of accolades, including the "Best Tech Innovation and Education" award at the U.N.'s World Youth Summit in 2012 and Mazar's "Best Sustainable Business Model" prize. Looking ahead, Olajide has big plans for the startup. "Our major goal is to be a major education technology provider in Africa," he says. "So we're just trying to strategically position ourselves, so when Africa is ready we would also be ready." For the time being however, the company's main focus is creating sustainable growth before proceeding to roll out the platform across the continent. As for Olajide, the passionate Nigerian says he is determined to keep on working to help increase accessibility to education in the continent. "The future of the continent lies in how educated people are," he says." All the major problems can be solved with education -- education is the key to the future. |

If this is your idea of a yeroba start up, then over 10,000 fast and more successful selling drinks joint in Aba should install a wordPress website and throw in some bottles as a homepage. Some things are rather disgraceful and shameful to present as a counter to the igbo thread.
Such a wasted tribe... Osunbade what do you have to say?? Drinks.ng records 105% growthNigeria’s first online one-stop shop for beverages and alcohol drinks, drinks.ng has said that it has recorded 105 percent growth within one year of operations. Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Drinks.ng, Lanre Akinlagun stated this while speaking with Vanguard on the operations of the online drinks portal and state of e-commerce in Nigeria.
According to him, “We have generated over N65 million so far this year. This represents about 105 per cent of our growth and we still have the festive period to come. This has been achieved through key partnerships with the likes of Diageo, Guinness, Pernod Ricard and Moet Hennessy. Our next day delivery service has proved popular with consumers.” Akinlagun explained that Drinks.ng is an innovative tech solution which helps beverage owners who are bringing new drinks into the market; give them easy platform to get their products visible to a large amount of people all at once. “We have also provided a platform that allows consumers to find easy way to find transparency while searching for products. People know a lot of drinks but they don’t know the prices or where they can get it. With drinks.ng, you don’t need to worry about that. You just let us know what you want and they will deliver it for you,” he said. Explaining further, he said: “The opportunity is really there for all three tiers of the beverage and alcohol business. The consumers get accessible way to make choices from a variety of products. We have over 1,300 drinks and they get to pick through all of them through the categories. “The manufacturers and the importers on the other hand get an opportunity to display their products in a biggest landscape where more people can see them.
If you go to the market, the problem that you have is that everybody displays the common drinks, the ones that they think everyone wants. These include the Red Label, Hennessy, Jack Daniels, Remmy Martins etc. The smaller and obscure drinks are not seen, and that is where we come in. So the opportunity is really a partnership between the manufacturers, importers, and also a social agreement between us and the consumers, to help them get what they want.” Akinlagun said the opportunity in online dinks market is huge as its values runs into billions of dollars, adding that with the necessary support, e-commerce should acquire reasonable stake of the industry. “The complete value of the beverage industry in Nigeria is $8.8 billion a year. The alcohol industry alone is about $5.5 billion and the soft drinks industry is about $3.8 billion. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/09/drinks-ng-records-105-growth/lmao @ 2x2 dirty aba beer parlor ignorant and unintelligent mentality. Your lazy and backward mentality is still all about beer and Guinness to your village isi ewu people while Omo Oodua deployed high tech to sell over 1000 different products to high-end consumers, clubs, and ballers all over the country and raking in tens of Nmillions in the process. With his 9-year experience working in digital marketing at various international establishments, the marketing and multimedia expert said he was exposed to lots of technology. But that wasn’t enough.
It took the plight of his friend who had issues with ordering drinks at his wedding for Lanre to realize that there is a great challenge in Nigeria’s drinks supply chain – something that is also an opportunity for a smart businessman who has no experience in selling drinks; the only link he had then with drinks was as a consumer buying his own drinks, and maybe tipping the barman
