This EE online profile is a total bullshit. The website was carelessly built without any consideration for proper validation checks, especially when users want to make changes to their profiles. I just renewed my passport and I wanted to put my new passport details in my application. How I ended up withdrawing my EE submission remains a mystery to me. A simple google search reveals that it has happened to many other people. I am sharing this for the benefit of everybody swimming in the pool. Always double-check before you push any button. Press the wrong button, then you are out!! I will recreate my EE profile anytime they start giving ITA to 390 and below, which I strongly doubt. Happy swimming to all still swimming.

Hello all,
I just started following this thread again yesterday. Even though I have done my WES and IELTS since last year, I decided to wait for the EE instead of FSWP. I just created my EE profile yesterday and I started swimming in the pool few minutes afterwards. I have been encouraged by all the contributors to this thread and I also want to render the little help I can. I have a very good IELTS material (which I used myself). Its The Official Cambridge Guide to IELTS Student's Book with Answers. All the audios for the listening tests and 17 sample videos from live speaking tests are included. You can PM me if you need the materials and I will send you the download link (1GB approximately). Its now your duty to find a way of downloading it. Cheers and goodluck to all.

Hello All,
In reference to my quoted post above, I got a lot of PMs and emails from the members of this forum and I sent the download link to the study materials as promised. Unfortunately, Dropbox blocked the link due to very high traffic from the downloads. I kept getting more PMs and emails even though I posted that the link doesn't work anymore. However I told you all in my replies that I am currently working on another solution to make the materials publicly available to all the people that need it. I have found a temporary solution but the problem is that the files will only be accessible for 10 days. Within 10 days, I hope many people would have already downloaded the materials and can share them with others that need them later. You can as well PM or email me after the expiry of the links in 10 days time. The files are now publicly available in the links below. Hope this helps. All the best to everybody. One love smiley

Hi User,

This email is an automated notification from Dropbox that your Public links have been temporarily suspended for generating excessive traffic. Your Dropbox will continue to function normally with the exception of Public links.

Hello guys,
Even though I did not post the IELTS link publicly, I still managed to get the above message from Dropbox. Unfortunately, the download link to the IELTS material has stopped working. The people that already downloaded the materials can as well create a public link and post it here so that anybody that needs it can download it. It will be nice if the link can be made public in some other ways. Goodluck all.

Hello moderator,
I think it is better to create a dedicated thread for Express Entry. I can see that someone tried to achieve this in this thread:
https://www.nairaland.com/2064942/canada-permanent-residency-express-entry but you redirected the individual to this thread, which is originally for FSWP. Since both FSWP and EE are entirely different, I think it is better all the information relating to each are placed in their respective threads.

Below is my IELTS result for August 16th, 2014 which was written in Sweden:

Listening: 6.5
Reading: 6.5
Writing: 8
Speaking: 7.5

Overall Band = 7

Thus, I just raked a total of 21 points.

WES assessment is also completed. Thus, I have satisfied the minimum requirement of 67 points. However, I am not in a hurry to apply. I will wait for the Express Entry in 2015.

All the best y'all

shekone: bro tnks for this post. I wud lik to apply. Can I get or email I'd. Or anyways my email samueljoshua03@gmail.com.

I wonder why you are still asking for his email address after the loads of information already poured out on this thread. Read the thread from the first page to the last page. I am sure any question you intend to ask is already answered on this thread. Most of us did not get detailed information like this when we applied. We acted upon the little information we got and we did the research ourselves. Luckily for you, someone has done the research for you and compiled all the necessary information on a thread. Nobody will do the application for you. You have to do it yourself.

How can I get admission for PDG there in Finland ? I have a HND Certificate here in Nigeria

Did you have to quote everything before asking a line of question? If everybody did just that, this thread will not be as organized as it is undecided

Back to your question. You cannot get admitted to a masters programme with an HND certificate. You can only get admitted to a bachelors programme. Even, you might not need your HND certificate to get admitted to a bachelors programme. All you need is your WAEC or NECO result and pass the entrace examination.

@OP,
Thanks for this thread. I have recommended it to some few friends. I only hope they make use of the opportunity and the loads of information you have already given in this thread.

@Potential Applicants,
Just a tip of advice to y'all. What is worth doing at all is worth doing on time. I am fortunate to be among the last beneficiaries of free tuition in Sweden. Presently, I won't advice anybody to study in Sweden because of the outrageous tuition fees being charged (around 2.8M tuition for 1 year masters programme and another 1.5M for 1 year living expensis. In total, you will need around 4.3M for 1 year masters programme in Sweden. It is times 2 of that "i.e. 8.6M" if you intend to study a 2 year masters programme and times 3 of that "i.e. 12.9M" if you intend to study a bachelors programme). Sweden started charging tuition fees in 2011 and Finland is most likely to follow the league sooner than you think. Trust me, if Finland implements tuition fee, it will be equivalent to what Sweden is presently charging. This might be your last chance! Waste no time.

One love from Sweden.

@Topic,
The reason is that you are one of the common losers who is discouraging people from traveling abroad. How many instances do you have? The fact that it happened to your dad does not mean it is like that for everybody. Do your research properly before you come here to spit out sh1t. By the way, why should stup1d and idiotic posts like this make the home page?

Like I said the hard way is the only way, na the same way them born those people them tk born una, I'm not encouraging criminal activities of any type o so you people should not get me wrong.Just try to make it in your own country instead of going to another where you would be a second class citizen all your life no matter how much money and fame you acquire.If you won,congratulations, my advice , go there and exploit their country's resources as they are doing ours and bring the returns to your motherland as they do too.that way your children children would not ever think of going there because you would have laid a foundation for them here.Googdluck to those who havnt checked till now [/b]

From you post, it is obvious you have never stepped out from the shores of your village. Do you have to go to maitama before you see good things? How come you don't see anything like maitama in your village? Try and visit any developed economy that you can think about. You will realize that things look the same everywhere. Stop discouraging people from traveling out. If the country is good, nobody will apply for the lottery in the first place.

Education / Re: The Nigerian Standard Of Education Is High by deoyel25(m): 11:51am On Jun 30, 2011
Nija4Life:

First let me thank the poster for opening this thread, because education in Nigeria is an issue very close to my heart. However, I'm going to have to disagree that standard of education in Nigeria is high unless it was a poor attempt to sarcasm.

Anyone who thinks the standard of education in Nigeria is even remotely adequate let alone high, is either naively patriotic or living in denial or even both. The sad reality is that our education system has reached a state of emergency if we don't act now.

Having read all previous posts on here, the common theme with some of them seem to be the fact that since our students do well when they study abroad then surely the educational system in Nigeria should be high in standard. However, what we fail to understand is that individual ability which is a consequence of intelligence is not necessarily a product of an outcome of a good educational system.  First let’s define intelligence, which in simple terms is the ability of the brain to process information quickly. Different factors contribute to intelligence of an individual; they include genetics, working memory, environment, motivation etc. As a people we are never lacking in motivation but this is heightened when we move into an environment that is very conducive for learning in comparison to what we have always been used to. This in itself brings the best out of us and that could explain why we excel when we come over to the west to study.

You can measure standard of education in the following ways and I speak from personal experience having been educated up to university level in Nigeria; also from the point of view of someone that has undergone and still undergoing post-graduate education, currently doing an MA dissertation and I also speak from the point of view of an educational professional here in the UK.

A good standard education can only be achieved with huge investment; there are no hard and fast rules about it. Education anywhere in the world is expensive to run and maintain; high quality education means even more money but we spend more in paying our legislators than we spend in educating our children, a scandal if you ask me.

Secondly, high quality education is synonymous with high quality teaching and learning. You can only get high quality teachers by being able to attract the best brains to the teaching profession through competitive remuneration and a rigorous and high quality teacher training programme with a good complement of educational theory and practice. Sadly in Nigeria the teaching profession is not very attractive as a career because of historical poor pay and trainee teachers suffer from the negative perception as people who ended up in Colleges of Education because they weren’t intelligent enough to go to university. The way teachers are currently trained is shambolic with too much emphasis on theory and less time spent in the classroom to observe other professionals and to horn and develop their skills.

The other point to consider is the fact that a good educational system is driven by good and adequate educational policy. This is an area which we don’t seem to do badly, going back to the days of 6-3-3-4 to the current Universal Basic Education. However, money meant for its implementation is at the centre of alleged misuse or diversion by the Director of the Commission and also the alleged misuse or misapplication of funds allocated to state govts.

A good educational system needs to be resourced with learning materials such as books, journals, with access to virtual libraries but need I say this is in short supply and where they exist, they are just out of date.

Also of significant importance is the lack of research in our universities; an educational system that fails to research, will fail to develop. Then there is decay in infrastructure, a weak pool of able students to recruit from by universities judging by the abysmal recent poor JAMB results.
Seriously, our educational system is in dire need of reform, investment and failure to recognise this fact is just living in denial of the problem. The future of our country largely depends on the ability of our children to develop the dynamism and ideas for new businesses, entrepreneurial skills and new technology that will create wealth in an ever changing world.
