Kobojunkie: I am afraid your understanding is not from the Bible but from the many doctrines and traditions your Mogs have fed you regarding their churches instead.
Jesus Christ never asked any man to build churches in His name, nor did He ask any of His followers to "worship" in such assemblies as is your churches today
. Instead, Jesus Christ said that the Church that belongs to Him He builds - by His own hands and not the hands of men. So, whatever you do in your man made structures have nothing to do with God or God which God in fact commands.
The church started in the new testament when the disciples of Christ began to gather in one accord in a place. If you read the epistles of apostle Paul well, you'll see that the church was a place where Christians gather to worship and apostle Paul gave different orders as to how we should worship in the church.
It's all in the new testament, if you have time try to read it and also believe the Bible.
Kobojunkie: who told you that story about early churches? Your pastor, right?
Stop letting them decieve you with their lies. The Church that belongs to Jesus Christ is built by the hands of Jesus Christ, not your pastors hand. What you call church there is nothing but a glorified social club.
My understanding is from the Bible. The church are the sacred people of God who have received Christ into their lives as Lord and saviour. It's the same people that build the structures we worship in today and our worship must glorify God which doesn't include bring comedians to crack jokes in the church. God is not a joke.
livette: Some churches do stand up comedy. They invite comedians from outside, and possible within the church to crack some jokes on the altar.. To me, stand up comedy in church is ungodly and a sign of disrespect of the sacredness of God's altar. It is a mockery of the sanctity of God's altar. You don't tell jokes with some lies on God's altar. The altar of God is not for caricature, but for holy things that are pleasing to God.
What is your view?
It's very wrong. All they did in the early church was: pray, read and study the scriptures, preach, sing spiritual songs and show love.
Alot is wrong these days. The church is the house of prayer according to Jesus the Lord and we should not make it a den of thieves.
KEVIND: Popular social media influencer and radio broadcaster Daddy Freeze has reacted to the absenteeism of top Nigerian Pastors at the funeral ceremony of late T. B. Joshua, who was the senior pastor and the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).
Recall that the televangelist who passed away on 6th June was finally laid to rest on Friday 9th at his church in Ikotun Egbe, Lagos.
At the laying to rest of the late clergyman, many dignitaries, home and abroad were seen present at the funeral ceremony to pay their last respect to the one many referred to as a great philanthropist and kind-hearted man of God.
Daddy Freeze, who, like some other Nigerians on social media noticed the absence of some top pastors or founders, expressed his disappointment in the development, as he believes that the single display of such action at that moment showed there's lack of true love among some Christians.
Talking of how the relationship of Christians nowadays, should be among themselves, Daddy Freeze, who also said he was disappointed at how pastors could not even commensurate with the family of the late T. B Joshua said that as true Christians, every church should have at least sent a delegate to the funeral service, even if they wouldn't be attending.
2 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Questions: 1) If there is a lawless one, doesn't there have to be a Law ? 2) If the lawless one is also referred to as the man of sin, doesn't that mean sin equates with being lawless ? 3) Using Bible Scripture only, what is the definition of "sin"... and be exact please.
My question is won't she get pregnant again? I think if I were in his shoes I'd feel like having sex with my wife after like 1 or 2 months of normal delivery but the question is won't she get pregnant making the age difference between the children very short. For me, I'd like at least 2 years age difference between my children.
familier: Good day RomanceLanders I just clocked 20 today
what are those advice you'll render to us in our Early or mid twenties...What are those mistakes or bad decisions that you'll never want us to make so as not to have regrets in life... I'm currently doing my ND2 in a state polytechnic with the thought of dropping at this level, I'm interested in leaning building construction.
You're advice and insults are welcomed
Have a good life plan. For example: where you want to be in the next 5 years, 10 years and your old age.
Work towards achieving a degree, skills and knowledge in a specific lucrative industry.
Work hard towards achieving it and depend on God only.
This happened in my LGA, in Delta state. The man died and his children took his body to the mortuary... This man, will leave his body to a nearby shop, buys drink and tell the owners that his son will pay.
On the day of his burial, when they came to carry his body, the shop owner came to ask the children to pay that their father has being buying drink in their name.
Also, my own Dad, died last year... We took him to the same mortuary, the mortuary attendance were telling us to come and take our father that he is disturbing them.
So all this dead and judgement matter, no too dey straight forward.
obonujoker: This question goes to study what happens to the soul after the last breath of life on this physical Earth.
1. The first school of thought tells us that the soul goes to heaven or hell immediately depending on the choices made while on Earth citing Hebrews 9:27 "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"
2. Another school of thought tells us that the soul doesn't go to heaven or hell immediately, but all soul is resting either in Abraham's bosom or Hades pending the rapture of the saints. It is said that if souls were already in heaven or hell, why would they need to rise up to reign with Jesus, or why will the bad ones rise up to the great white throne Judgement?? This school of thought believes that no one is in the lake of fire or heaven yet.
3. This school of thought believes the dead is dead and gone forever... There's no heaven or lake of fire.
Which do you believe??
Is heaven for humans?? Or a description of what the new Earth will be after the removal of this present Earth?
Give scriptural references too if you have... Thanks
This is what the Bible says: Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
After a man dies, he is judged according to how he lived, whether he lived in Christ or not and he's taken to either heaven or hell.
Also in the book of Luke: Luke 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; Luke 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
The rich man wasn't in Christ and he was taken to hell.
So in conclusion: after a man dies, he's taken to either heaven or hell.
essenjack: Please I need a spiritual/Biblical answer to this question, cos in a society like ours, most Christians tends to judge and condemn smokers. I smoke (only Marijuana) for obvious reason(s) known to me.
Romans 14:21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
philanthropic: In the Bible, we saw God's people who were in the government. We have countries whose political system is not as complex as that of Nigeria. Now, can a Genuine Christian be a politician in Nigeria? with this corruption is it possible, and how?
Yes. With the help of the Holy Spirit a Christian politician can avoid sin.
