Dude,I dunno of how this India ink you talk of. Never heard of it. Ojuelegba isn't close to me either but I go there. Distance isn't an issue when I need something, brov. So it's left to you to do the needful, best regards... Millex: |
Nobody said art materials come that cheap*lol*hehehe*200 or 500 ke you're joking for real*lmao*lwkmd*Visit the bookshops more often please wake up that's the reality of our exchange rate... Millex: |
You're the one that said buy Illustrator but it rarely comes alone like Photoshop or LightRoom. A DualCore pc of 4GB RAM or less can take the Design or Master Suite CS3 easily. If you let the economy determine everything you do creatively won't get anything so leave that one aside. Millex: |
Ok. You said buy Illustrator when there's Computer Village to buy either Design Suite or Master Collection asap or via torrent downloads online. When I have a company that's when I plan to buy not solo as I'm now Millex: |
Prices change I can't tell you anything fixed just the range,it's best you visit the bookshops yourself. *I recommend the sakura pens instead but you need to order them via Amazon. Check for Micron Sakura pen set of 6 *Rotring pen set of 8 is now 26k *Clutch pencils vary between N900-1k *Coloured pencils & pastel - Maybe 2-3k each That's all I can estimate for now... Millex: |
Yeah,it sure has & Nigeria has the fastest growing industry in comics which actually inspired other African countries to begin their own ComicCon. Lagos ComicCon 2016 marks the 5th edition & 5th anniversary of the awesome event. Visit www.lagoscomiccon.com & it happens between 16-18th of September in Ikeja. Follow social media for venue details. Millex: |
Rotring pen set available in Ojuelegba,Lagos,Nigeria for years(I studied architecture) & the sakura pen set isn't available in Nigeria ordered via Amazon here. For pencil sketches I prefer rotring clutch pencils also known as mechanical pencils (0.5 & 2.0mm thickness) available also in Ojuelegba or a good bookshop that stocks up well. Then colour up with coloured pencils & pastel.
|
Good attempt. To create good ink outlines get a set of rotring pens or sakura pens (used by Japanese manga artists & made there also). Biros don't just cut it when transferring to Photoshop,Illustrator or SketchBook Pro. |
Ok,no pictures showing here,brov,best regards... Millex: |
Well you right without the digital tab not so easy. Digital tabs of Wacom(which I use) & Ugee are available in Lagos. If you are looking for something cheap then that would unrealistic because you need to budget between 30-50k because of the present foreign exchange rate not smiling on anyone. Am a retailer of both brands so send me a PM asap...stocks are limited. Millex: |
Ok,it's really all about balance though... That's if you stay in Lagos, visit Computer Village,Ikeja they sell video tutorials on any topic you need. Search on google/youtube for free stuff & for premium stuff on programming visit the following: *PluralSight Tutors (www.pluralsight.com) *Lynda (www.lynda.com) Hallack: |
Amazing & this sculpture blew me away. This dude most have grown up on comics...geez...it really tells the story of mankind. The age of Man Vs Machine...ghen ghen...Nollywood+Hollywood soundtrack in the background... Emmykego: |
@HALLACK: I know you meant no harm with your post but in a way it's harmful. Look at this way,you have a great skill some people have bought books & watched video tutorials endlessly still didn't get the desired result though they tried very hard. In the advertising & media industry of Nigeria, being a graphic designer doesn't cut it anymore you need to be a hybrid draw/illustration even to 2d/3d animation. I'm an artist/illustrator & I studied architecture. I would not give out my illustration skills for anything but I'd rather share my knowledge. You got talent & it's a shame you don't really appreciate but make jokes about it. best regards... Hallack: |
Actually there's a software it's called "brainware" & "thinklogic"*lmao*lol*lwkmd*rotflr*get it?!! ![]() khassy: |
Good work with pencil, keep it up & just pushing your ability to score more details in while blending shadows with highlights, best regards... Sammycute: |
I answered the question based on the need to put it out there;the apps needed in each category & the recommended minimum is based on the user's budget. It isn't compulsory to use the latest versions, the lower versions of Autodesk app say as far back as 2009 will still do the job. I'm a fan of 2d/3d modelling & animation so I experiment between the 2types as a hobby/freelance to get paid but don't offer it on fiverr as I have a 9-5 job to balance. So illustration, rapid concept art & graphic design is safer for me there. Cool, that you learning Maya though on the side. Learning more about 3dsmax & Maya in terms of modelling, character design & animation...work in progress... Singapore1: |
Visit OrangeVFX Studios in Lagos, they are behind the viral video "Wale & Ovie characters dancing -E don Show" www.orangevfx.com They are on facebook, twitter, instagram, google plus, youtube so check them out... stingermania: |

Dude,it isn't for you to say it looks nice that for us the "viewers" to judge. It's a very average attempt which shows you have potential if you pay attention to adding more details to your sketch before coming here to post seriously. My score is a 4.5/10 or 45%. Please get back to the drawing board & practice a lot harder, best regards... Cyb3rtr0n: |

Congrats,brov,warmest regards,keep it up... abeynoni: |
I know Collyde in person & a big fan of his. Most of what you see on IG is posted on FB 1st though. If he can't add you as a friend(like me) follow him still. Join the Association of Comic Makers of Nigeria(ACMON) & Nigerian Comic Artists Group(NCAG) you will see it going down live, best regards... |
Bro,it isn't about it being a lower version or not. PS from version 7 through to CC "Save As" is always the same. CS4 notoriously has a lots of fakes,if you check your C: Hard Disc>Program Files or Program Files(x86) & there's no Adobe folder within it. That means your PS desktop shows like an installation shortcut with the blue/yellow shield instead of just simply Photoshop then it's an imitation not the real copy... Always download from Adobe's site then activate Joe171: |
@FRANKICIENT: Dude, questions that have been discussed over & over like yours can't be answered again because @BEATZONE & etc have answered it on this thread. If you had just read the thread extensively as advised you wouldn't be asking that again seriously, shikena. It isn't just about peeps answering questions it's also about you guys taking the time out to read up,best regards... Frankicent: |
I replied your DM with a reply & some drawing samples of mine. cornelin: |
Then your Photoshop version may not be as original as you think. This is the screenshot of my pc using Photoshop CS6 so it's definitely your app misbehaving
