onegentleguy: A very blissful weekend to everyone in the house. ...and may God be with us all !!
Regards. Peruse and comment. I found this very interesting. From the write-up: ''It would appear that there are clever and creative ways to deploy IFRS in order to improve income statement results by front loading provisions in the balance sheet and then releasing it through the year to allow for improved profits while the revenue growth remains static or perhaps negative (and in this case - 1.1% or negative using the NAFEX exchange rate to calculate the results for Nigeria). The market reaction says a lot, and experience would indicate that knowledgeable and discerning investors around the issue of NAFEX and reporting understand what is going on; and are selling off Ecobank shares (ETI @N16 yesterday and today after trading as high as 22.15 in August 2018) as the underlying business performance is not sustainable. Using IFRS to increase revenues will work for 2018, but what is the plan for 2019?'' .... https://www.proshareng.com/news/Stock---Analyst-Updates/Unravelling-The-Ecobank-Q3-2018-Results-/42407 |

onegentleguy: Slightly improved performance given where they were as at Q2... but its clear that the bank is still seriously struggling !! The poor financials with most of their KEY drivers of revenue and earnings line describes an inefficient and clueless management at the helm of affairs. They are unable to think outside the box with deriving benefits from both their core and non-core line of business. But for trading income proceeds which helped save the day, their performance either side of their investment and loan/interest drivers was relatively poor. After 2 quarters since their offshore asset divestment, the group still recorded a negative PAT btw July to Sept 2018. There's still a worrying ROAE, ROAA, EPS, GROSS MARGIN, NET MARGIN, EBITDA MARGIN, RE and EM. This coy is in need of solvency to boost their WC. ...but before then, the current management needs to go !! Otherwise shareholders might be in for a long thing.
Let's hope that the new management that will take over in the near future will help turn things around.
Will I buy DIAMOND BANK? ...No. I'll prefer to wait and see how things play out in the coy with the release of their 2018 AFS. Should u sell if u hold a stake in the bank? ...well that would depend on ur personality, strategy and investment horizon.
DISCLOSURE: I currently do NOT hold any stake in DIAMOND BANK.
CAVEAT: NOT to be reckoned as any sought of recommendation. ...when in doubt, pls do well to indulge the services of a reputable investment manager/adviser for guidance. DEADMOND BANK... 80 Kobo. |

mendes911: LOL.
Same way the MM was constantly closing the share price at ₦1.70. I will NEVER jump the gun here, I know the caliber of guys I am dealing with. No good stock makes the entire gains for a year in one trading session on NSE.... Better to lose some percentage on the uptrend than to keep vigils for market to open after a shock treatment from their MM... FCMB is NOT an ordinary stock.... It is not about fair price now. Scan the entire market and see food everywhere for vultures, yet they are not descending, still awaiting bigger carcasses of animals that are alive. |

onegentleguy: Report reaching me from a very reliable source has it that CAVERTON OFFSHORE SUPPORT GROUP had in the past few days acquired a helicopter PTS for €8M, through a bank facility from BPI FRANCE. ...provision was made by the THALES GROUP, and secured by the ECA branch of France.
The management of the company has also concluded and signed a new lease agreement with MILESTONE AVIATION. There is also an expected upcoming deal with the THALES GROUP.
The breakdown to these reports and more shall be made public in due course.
