Agbalowomeri: Next Diamond...... This one should have even come before Skye. Well, no legal time frame between last breath and burial. Skye was given a pseudo-muslim burial, Diamond worshiped at African shrine, so let it keep staying in the mortuary. |

wanaj0: Well, shsreholders of Skyebank will be left with nothing! Hmmmm. Too bad! One trading rule everyone MUST imbibe is to avoid completely any stock that keeps its quarterly and annual results! No matter how tempted, walk away. On NSE, a one night stand almost always end up producing a baby mama. If you expect a baby, why take a woman without a womb to bed? I was severally burnt almost beyond recognition doing that. Fidelity was not a bad buy below N1.59, but I consistently avoided JIJO after I felt their Q2 was delayed unduly and will stay away until they release that result. I prefer to JIJO on a VERY bad result than NO RESULT. When you keep your result, I keep my cash. |

lagbaja: Wondering the bulls on skye bank stocks in the past days, well some people were already in the know. CBN Takes over Skye Bank
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) this evening announced the takeover of Skye Bank, and the setting up of a new Bridge Bank called Polaris to manage the bank’s assets. A N786 billion facility is to be injected into the bank by AMCON, according the CBN. Details later…

Mcy56: Sir, now you are not been fair to me. I wasn't in any way referring to you but those that were name calling MH as monkey hunter without having any cogent reason for saying so. I wouldn't have even hailed your counter argument if it were to be so.
Well, it's one of those things......but I must commend you for your posts meant to inform the forum on why investing in Firstalum is a risky venture at this point in time. I've gained quite a lot within this short period. Thanks sir. I make bold to say he is who he is as you too has just done... Very few people here point out good stocks where they hold no positions, but have seen value! Whenever I decide to pump a stock and dump, I make sure I NEVER call attention to it here (we are a family). P/D or market mechanics is risky! Wanaj0 always bring a microscope to the table. |

wanaj0: I do own First Aluminium when they were 'profitable' and sold leaving a little so as to continue to 'check' what is happening. Nothing has changed in that sector. Competition is stiff. ALSCON is still moribund. First Aluminium is struggling!
So what are the number's sayings? I decided early in my investment life NEVER to romance anyone ( I am transgender.. ) that when the odds take an audit of my clandestine activities, I can not marry... Now that great companies are priced like crayfish, how on earth will I even bother about pricing rotten fish.. Negative retained earnings is like terminal illness on NSE. Even the healthy ones (with cooked numbers) can drop dead any day.. If anyone wants us to do contribution, let it be outside the trading floor, and let us sign terms of agreement, I CANT add my bid! |

MonkeyHunter: I will help out with the assignment.
Issued Shares 2.1bn Market Cap @ 30k N630m Shareholders funds N5.162bn 2017 PAT N209m Total Assets: N9.884bn Retained Earnings (1.5bn) negative
Four year profit history 2017 : N209m 2016 : N175m 2015 : N169m 2014 : N29m
EPS 2017 : 9.92k 2016 : 7.71k 2015 : 5.18k 2014 : 1.37k
Book Value per share EPS 2017 : 244.6k 2016 : 234.3k 2015 : 227.5k 2014 : 219.8k
In my opinion it is not the dead company as previously portrayed. Profits is steadily growing but the negative retained earnings will prevent it from paying dividends for a while. The PE is around 3 so valuation wise it is pretty cheap and if it had sufficient float might make a very good takeover candidate (N31m gets your 5% of the company). Today's trade was like 1.6% of the company. I might study the financials thoroughly over the weekend and provide further info on the company and its prospects. Are you sure you are not involved in the FB? |

onegentleguy: This new deal Honeywell Aerospace Inc. is a double win for CAVERTON !! ...there are 2 clear POSITIVES here:
1) It will boost their earnings through income generated from servicing of helicopter and military avionics within the region. ...the company shall be the sole dealer in west Africa !! 2) It will provide another great means of saving cost as CAVERTON will be hedging against any unforeseen or unexpected rise in annual maintenance cost ...they've already done great on this line (of cost saving), and they're still doing more !!
Expect the 1st positive to aid their TOPLINE while the 2nd shall boost their BOTTOM LINE. ...which should naturally reflect in key indicators like EPS, EM, and ROAE.
However, if u still wish to disagree, then feel free Sir !!
NOTE: STILL NOT a BUY recommendation. I think CILeasing is still better. I view the management here with one eye. Dividend history na comma too. We have a lot of 'maggot managers' in Nigeria. They feed intensively from within and the shell still looks perfect outside. |

onegentleguy: That's a good one my dear !! ...BEST to always try to align with WHAT IS (the present) and NOT WHAT WAS (the past). Current Nos are usually a better guide to drawing true inferences. It's safe to say that the Nos are improving with First Aluminium !! However, I do have my small reservation about the company. I multiply your small reservation by a billion! For me, I have a warehouse of reservations. Na today? |

I was just about to post this (I quoted you so I can extend my greetings):
Remember, TA based trades are short term, in case the trade goes sour, do remember to cut the losses and move on to identify another opportunity... Infinitisi zerodha series
Some people place trades based on TA, follow the trade with FA while forgetting there was an initial TA setup (this is where hope usually takes charge) and exit the market based on GA.
My special greetings to Derugged. My warmest regards. Nice one there, |

Never overtake a long truck at a sharp bend to avoid head on collision. Overtaking to clear some offers with the mindset that a stock is going to be on full bid most times is jumping the gun. Let your charts guide you. Most of such bids turn to FULL GHOST after you are sucked in. Some stocks are still owing the bears and must pay. This was part of currentprice's assertion earlier. Well, experience is most times a better learning tool in this game. |
