from my own point of view, there are 3 possible reasons why d guys u mentioned are silent, either of d following: 1. DSS has a slogan wch says boldy "KEEP OUR SECRETS SECRET" so maybe they are adherring stictly to d act of secrecy as they have been taught in DSS training school. 2. They didnt actually make it into DSS and hence feel too ashamed to comment on any thing about DSS again. And den d last option is dat, maybe they dont really have any useful info to share here so they chose to be silent. Dis is jst my opinion o i stand to be corrected if am wrong.

Actually my headache is how soon is this process will be over, then successful ones proceed to camp, because by delaying it or elongating the time many things will come in, including the influence of the politicians

boss politicians wud alws want to influence evry job opportunity to favour their close family n friends, but in d case of dis DSS it all depends on D state Director and d ADS A&L whos d head of admin, to either dance to d tune of politicians or refuse them. So pray those 2pple in ur state command are strict and no-nonsense kind of pple den u r safe.

chairmen, for me personally in order of preference, it wud be 1.DSS 2.Customs 3.NIS. Even if customs n NIS pay 1mil monthly, i will still pick DSS cos dats where my heart is and has always been.

sir u are not expected to do any special or difficult thing, just answer any question they ask u regarding ur documents dats all... They may even vet u without ur knowledge by simply checking up on ur schools and referees to see if all d info on ur documents are genuine or manufactured. They call dat one conduit vetting.. Surface vetting is d one u are called and asked to clarify ambigous things on ur documents, u understand ba?

no sir! D person in charge is called LGSC, Local Government Security Chief, and d rank of dat person is PSIO. Dat rank is 3 ranks above d cadet wch is SIO II. Bt a cadet may be his 2 I.C if no oda senior rank is ther above d cadet officer, den about 3 ASOs and abt 10 detectives are attached to d DSS office in each LGA of d country.

The officers at my state HQ were telling my friends that went for aptitude test that they will be hating on the job, immediately they started, even though they seem desperate to get it now. They keep telling that, the SSS is a very difficult work and only few people cope. The truth is; I don't want something that will over stress me, to the extent that I will have no or little time for myself and family.

Alright lemme tell u a bit abt DSS work. Pls be aware dat watever i xplaing here is based on my knowledge of d job thru my dad who is now retired after 35years of working with d NSO turned DSS. D first thing u may not like abt d job is TRANSFER. U may be transfered to any part of d country at any time, and u may be posted to any local government area jst as corpers are posted to interior villages where they dont like but they have no choice bt to go. That said, DSS personel in d state commands go to work 8am n close by 4, 5 or 6pm but nobody leaves d office until SDS, state director of service is out of d office. D primary assignment of all DSS personnel in all d LGAs in Nigeria is to PREVENT crime and chaos BEFORE it occurs. So they must mingle with pple of d locality so as to get information wch is reffered to as INTEL, wch is gathered over a period n submitted to HQ in d state capital to act upon it. Hq shares d intel with other security agencies, and necesary action is taken to prevent any loss of lives n property. Security report is submited to d state governor evry week, briefing him on security status of all d LGAs in d state, so as a DSS personnel u must knw how to obtain useful intel and to write report. Intelligence reports gathered by DSS personnel is what army n police uses to raid and arrest criminals in their hideouts... D secondary responsibility of DSS is to provide security for government officials referred to as VIP. Those are d DSS guys u see with governors ministers senators and d president, u must undergo a special training course bfor u a assigned d role of chief detail to any vip. So, all in all, officers dont have much stress in dss, its detectives ans ASOs dat do most of d stressful daily work in d office. As per d pay, its veeeery good, plus a mid-month payment called incentive, wch is a particular percentage of ur basic salary. I dont knw abt you sir, but me myself and I, am ready to go wherever d job takes me to, and whatever it requires me to do. Its far better n less stressful dan army and military wahala. boss i dont knw hw many they invited i just went to answer mine, and 3 officers attended to me alone in d office of d ADS A&L. So i dnt knw hw many came befor and or after me. As per medicals, i dnt knw wether its bfor or during d training but whichever way they want it, I or rather we are ready!!! Abi Cheers.

boss u knw DSS n their habit of keeping secrets very secret abi? By what i was told at d DSS office during my vetting, a senior officer of d rank of ACSIO who is d head of admin, said d trainin will commence btw march and april, duration for cadets is jst about one year, bt not upto one year, so i guess 9 or 10months is d duration inclusive of d 3month IT and project writing. He said if d cadets are fortunate, we may be trained on shooting n weapons handling at d DSS hi-tech underground range in Lagos. #me dey look forward to dat part!!!

u welcome sir, i also give u chakaboom!!! Lolz. Regarding NCE/OND age limit i think its 25years, am not very certain of dat sha, d correct age limit will be stated wen they start accepting d applications.

no sir, dat too is decided by d DG. My advice to u is, try to beat all applicants from ur LGA, dats d surest way to be shortlisted sir. God gave me d grace to beat d entire 418 cadet candidates in my state, so after u submit ur application start studying hard n God will giv u d grace to com out tops too, cheers.

hello to evryone here, i think its right to share useful and credible info to u all, so here it is...
1. Names of shortlisted candidates for both cadets (SIO II) and SSCE (Detectives) have been sent to d HQ DSS in Abuja.
2. HQ DSS has not fixed date for training at d DSS training school for cadets in Lagos and for detectives in Kaduna. This is because d facilities are currently occupied by officers on course.
3. If you have received any call or text frm DSS since after d aptitude test, den be glad, u may hav been shortlisted. But if u havent received any call or text frm them, it means u didnt do well in d test so pray for God to do a miracle for u.
5. This year's recruitment is entirely in d hands of each state command, unlike 2014 recruitment dat was hijacked by d Yellow house. Cadets per state is minimum of 10, it cud be more dan 10 possibly.
6. If u hav been called, pls do good to inform all ur referees on ur cv, cos DSS will contact them to ask about you, tell dem to expect such so they are not taken unawares.
7. When HQ DSS, has approved for training to commence, all shortlisted candidates will be called to their various state commands for onward journey to Lagos for cadets, and Kaduna for detectives. You will be told on what n what to come along with.
8. OND and NCE recruitment for dis year hasnt been approved yet, so be patient for now.

my nokia asha 200 is my money making machine (MMM), for as long as it is on people must call me everyday for one tin or d other to do for them n they pay me. e.g glo bis n change of imei n others. my tecno c8 is for other things while my asha 200 is for making money! cant afford to leave it off evn for 2mins!!!!
