CBN, pls face your work and stop meddling in activities that's unrelated to your scope just because you're perceived to be autonomous!
I am sure you didn't read the story before this comment. A unified card system is good for the banking industry. The current card u have also gives network issue and thats an infrastructure issue not the cbn's fault. So let's embrace this.

Business › Networking For Success At The 2019 Wimbiz Annual Conference by designguru(op): 9:30am On Oct 28, 2019
Sometime in May 2019, I met a young man at an event I had been invited to speak at.

The Moderator of the event had asked that we network for about 10 minutes. This young man walked up to me at the back and introduced himself. He told me the industry he was working in, described what he did in a summary, gave me his card and went back to his seat.

This young man stood out because he had emphasized what he did and that stuck with me as his field was something, I was working on within The Smart Investment Club (a platform where we teach about Investment and practice what we learn by seizing credible Investment opportunities).

To cut the long story short, I called him a few weeks after and till date, we have transacted in mutually beneficial businesses with the monetary value running into tens of millions.

Often times, we read a lot about Emotional Intelligence, Financial Intelligence and more, but Connectional Intelligence; what you may call Networking Intelligence is relatively unknown. The proper art of Networking which is the enabler of successful social, financial and economic relationships has not been properly mastered by a lot of us.

Technology has changed things and networking with the aid of technology has taken new dimensions. It is possible to be in business transactions with people you have never met in person and have no inhibitions about dealing with them because you have gained confidence through your interactions with them. Given the same set of circumstances, some people fare better in closing out deals and prospects than many others because of their ability to "connect" well.

What is Connectional Intelligence (CI)?
According to Erica Dhawan, "it is the ability to create and drive greater value by effectively harnessing your networks and relationships". She goes on to say that CI is the next, greatest trait or skill that leaders will use to bring change to their workplaces and the world.

Connectional Intelligence is the ability to combine resources, people, tools and technology in relationships with an end result of wealth or value creation. It is about sharing mutual value with the person you are connecting with.

Everyone meets a lot of people at different events and collects loads of cards (I have lost cards and sometimes shredded some when decluttering). Hardly would anyone remember you if you don’t leave a succinct, lasting impression on their mind. What value can you bring to the table for them?

Remember, everyone you meet is your potential business partner, enabler or collaborator. When you meet with people and exchange contacts, you must have in mind three Ws
The "Who" you are
The "Why" you are talking with them
The "What" matters to you both.

The secret to doing this effectively is Mastering an Elevator Speech which should contain no more than 5 sentences that summarizes what you do. In 5 mins, you should be able to “sell” yourself and engrave a lasting impression about you in the mind of the listener.

My pitch would go like this for an example:
“ My name is Sola Adesakin I am a Multi-Passionate and Multi-Talented Finance Coach I help people and businesses identify what their financial capabilities and how to scale it up. I help them Make, Manage and Multiply their money. I have helped many individuals and businesses bounce back from stress to wealth”

Erica Dhawan goes on to mention the 5 Cs of connectional intelligence which are: curiosity, combination, community, courage, and combustion My relationships and networking skills have taken a great shape ever since I got deliberate about getting more connectional intelligence.

At this 2019 Wimbiz conference and just anywhere you get to meet new people, be deliberate about how you network with the people and what you do with their contacts details.

I am grateful to Toyin Ademola who created this awareness about CI to me.

Business › Asue: One Of The Few Good Men…a Silent Achiever @ 60! by designguru(op): 7:22am On Jul 21, 2019
Barack Obama has achieved things that most people can only dream of. He was the first African American president to assume office and served two terms. From humble beginnings he rose to become one of the most powerful men in the world. As a young person he was a skilled writer and a hard worker, he recognized he could be a successful journalist if he worked his way up the ladder he however also knew he could make more of a difference through politics, so he set his eyes on the White house for years. We all know how that ended.

For Asue, we may have to give his father the credit. He wanted to become a banker but his father encouraged him to study Law as that was more of ‘a profession’. To please his old man Asue went to the London School of Economics to study Law after his first degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan. After Law school, his attachment at the renowned firm of Chris Ogunbanjo & Co, where one of his first tasks was serving on the committee that drafted the new Corporate & Allied Matters Act (CAMA), he was convinced his dad was right after all. From what we know now, one thing is clear, no matter his profession Asue would have made a success of it.

Following a few years of experience with Chris Ogunbanjo & Co, he partnered with Olufemi Olubanwo to set up what is now one of the leading corporate and commercial law firms in Nigeria – Banwo & Ighodalo. Nurturing this firm from scratch to the behemoth that it is today, 30 years after, may be considered the least of Asue’s contributions to the nation. Like Barack said ‘ When we don’t pay close attention to the decisions made by our leaders, when we fail to educate ourselves about the major issues of the day, when we choose not to make our voices and opinions heard, that’s when democracy breaks down. That’s when power is abused. That’s when the most extreme voices in our society will fill the void we leave…..because none of us are there to speak up and stop them.’ Hence Asue finds fulfillment in his contributions to nation building, a firm believer in good governance he is at the forefront of the agitation for sustainability in the private sector. He insists, as the engine for economic growth and prosperity, businesses must put structures in place to ensure they outlive their owners. He teaches company directors to pay attention to risk management by reminding them they could be jailed if they do not follow corporate governance ethos.

The Nigerian business and political landscape may be considered to be littered with people of low discretion, but the burden corruption and bad governance have laid on Nigeria is such that being able to stand against those vices shines through. While many are quick to sink in the mud of despair, there are a few shining stars. This leading light that has sailed through the tough terrains of the Nigerian economy, an avowed corporate governance icon may have ventured into law by parental nudge but with personal ambition he has become a success story with eloquent testimonies

Asue Ighodalo is today a boardroom czar of repute, as a member of the board of at least 10 major corporates and Not-for profit businesses, where he notably chairs Sterling Bank Plc, Dangote Flour Mills and the Nigerian Economic Summit group. He is one of the few Nigerians deemed worthy of membership of the Board of the Christopher Kolade Foundation and Fate Foundation whilst also constantly sharing knowledge at the Lagos Business School and mentoring entrepreneurs at the Ausso leadership Academy. He is today a well sought-after repository of knowledge, which he generously shares as part of his contribution to strengthening corporate governance and instituting the culture of good governance in the private and public sector in Nigeria.

His appointment late last year as the Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit group speaks volumes on how trusted Ighodalo is on his advocacy for a sustainable private sector. As an active member of the group for many years, he believes the interface between the NESG and the public sector has been extremely positive for the development of the Nigerian economy. As he has posited in recent interviews, the non-oil sector has the potential to expand and increase share of revenue and export earnings for Nigeria.

Someone once said ‘the biggest challenge after success is shutting up about it.’ In today’s Nigeria, it is even more of a rarity considering the extra privileges mundane or otherwise that come with being considered one of the high and mighty yet Asue prefers to quietly impact humanity. After all, as another famous person said: Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised ones, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not the great goals achieved. The real milestones are less prepossessing. They come to the door of memory unannounced, stray dogs that amble in, sniff around a bit and simply never leave. Our lives are measured by these.

As Asue attains his milestone 60th year, this July 19th, 2019 I reckon that posterity will record and recount his journey especially as an advocate of good governance, a successful entrepreneur, a legal luminary, a gentle giant, great yet humble, a teacher, mentor and motivator, a loving and devoted husband and father, golf-lover, avid traveler and an apostle of a better Nigeria and one of the few good men. Nigeria and indeed the world is proud and grateful for you.

Business › Wealth Drive Group Africa: Liberating Africans Through Investments by designguru(op): 4:36pm On Apr 16, 2019
For centuries, the African continent has grappled with financial snag amongst other issues blighting the glow of its full potentials. While the African governments busy themselves with policymaking and the onerous task of governance, some brilliant minds perceived the vast void of opportunities that could be tapped to create financial freedom for the people.

That thoughtful moment of sheer ingenuity became the foundation on which Wealth Drive Group Africa was birthed. It was no fluke for the fountainheads of this great company to connect the missing dots and conjure something of great value that soon changed the fortunes of many who took the bold attempt to trade with the firm. Their productive alliance occasioned financial boom in the continent with copious testaments from different corners to validate their profound business acumen.

The company, which was established in 2009, was founded on the basis of providing a risk-free leverage for Africans to gain financial freedom and liberate themselves from the long-drawn-out trammels of poverty. With an inspiring vision of expanding forex to the whole African continent, the company further partnered leading trading empires with impressive track records as a classic measure to creating a profitable and sustainable forex trading business in Africa - void of double-dealing.

With consistency, hard work and a team of trading experts, Wealth Drive Group Africa outclassed several competitors and became a brand to beat in the trading circle. Their outstanding accomplishments gave forex traders the impetus to muscle in on their services against a background of lucid operations that guarantee maximum return on investments.

This great feat was never a sudden flight; it was competence at work, coupled with a brilliant mix of clear-cut objective; driven by passion, dexterity and dedication to change the narratives of Africans in financial difficulty.

On this laudable account, it would not be out of context, to state emphatically, that the financial savvy of this great firm has enriched the lives of well over one thousand independent clients – clients who have built confidence in the company to the disappointment of many observers.

These clients are no doubt, the crowning glory of Wealth Drive Group Africa’s financial management capacity, which also speaks volume of its faultless integrity – an uncommon trait in today’s trading institutions.

Going by the words of British author, Richard Templar, “If you’re going to invest in shares, look for value. Look for companies whose share-price doesn’t reflect their worth; look for companies that make or do something that people will find more valuable in the future, and look for companies whose value is appreciated by the investment funds.”

Templar’s words steadily exemplifies the culture and philosophy upheld by Wealth Drive Group Africa, wherein it has incredibly fared well in surpassing the expectations of clients and delivering satisfaction on every investment.

With its unusual knack of excellence, Wealth Drive Group Africa is well on course to becoming a preferred choice for many seeking to win big in forex trading.

Politics › Hon. Mojisola Alli-macaulay (mama Amuwo) Defiling The Odds by designguru(op): 10:45am On Dec 04, 2018
The Nigerian woman still grapples to make her voice heard in the country’s political scene which is largely dominated by the male folks. Even the privileged few who make efforts to get their voice heard get drowned by the heavy political torrent with little or no impact. But one woman has continued to fan the embers of innovation within and outside the political terrain with her laudable works of ingenuity and empowerment programmes - all tailored towards changing the narratives of the nation’s helpless citizens.

Unknown to many, the name Hon. Mojisola Alli-Macaulay with the sobriquet, Mama Amuwo is one that invokes some romantic images of progress, ambition and possibility. These rare qualities define the personality of Mama Amuwo and the ideals that she stands for.

A woman of impeccable intelligence, Mama Amuwo has earned for herself an impressive track record of success in different managerial positions. She cut her teeth in History and International Relations at the Lagos State University (LASU), where she bagged her first degree (B.Sc.). This fearless reformer has walked her talk in Journalism and Marketing, and her penchant for learning has propped her to master the tenets of legislation at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) where she is currently studying Law.

To the chagrin of many observers, Mama has defied existing norms and stuck out her neck for the struggle for a free and fair internal democracy on multiple fronts. She is a shining example of Mother Theresa, the selfless amazon who dedicated her life to serving the underprivileged people across the world.

Without mincing words, Hon. Mojisola Alli-Macaulay has the cognate qualities and experience to match any female leader on all standards. She commands such admirable poise and confidence that can be likened to world leaders - in the class of Barrack Obama and Hilary Clinton.

The crave for active women involvement in the nation’s politics and female representation are some of the founding inspirations behind Mama Amuwo’s decision to serve the people. Her thoughtful decision to delve into politics is a signal of imminent prosperity, victory and opportunity for the youths, the women and the Nigerian people at large.

Mama Amuwo is no doubt beyond the class of your average woman, as she does not pander to sycophancy, which has become the stock in trade of politicians in the Nigerian polity. She is a doughty reformer committed to changing the status quo, breaking barriers and building a better future for generations to come.

If history serves us right, then Mama Amuwo, some day, may yet become the harbinger of hope for the Nigerian women.
Vote wisely, Vote Hon. Mojisola Alli-Macaulay for effective representation

Phones › Swift Networks Launches Free Broadband Wi-fi Service In Lagos. by designguru(op): 4:52am On Mar 20, 2018
SWIFT Networks, Nigeria’s leading broadband service provider to enterprise and residential customers is partnering with leading global brands to offer free broadband Wi-Fi service in Lagos. This service, Red Cheetah, a new brand under the stable of Swift Networks will start with an initial 10,000 hotspots distributed all over the state, supported by advertising revenues from leading global brands and partners. Red Cheetah is expected to help deepen Nigeria’s broadband penetration and aspiration for universal internet access for greater social equity and inclusion.

“The Red Cheetah service model once more follows in SWIFT’s tradition of demystifying and making technology to work for Nigerians so that they can hook up to the digital world to explore, work and entertain more efficiently” says Charles Anudu, the entrepreneur behind SWIFT NETWORKS. “We are excited to pioneer this cutting edge service model and will rapidly extend it to more cities in Nigeria and the continent. The security of every user’s access is enhanced by the Red Cheetah App which establishes a distinct and secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection to the internet for each device on the platform. I strongly believe that this dogged work of over two years is the ideal model that will empower Nigerians to live their most productive lifestyles in a digital world. I am extra proud that everything about Red Cheetah is Nigerian and shows what we can achieve when we commit to solving the problems of our society taking our context into consideration”.

“Our plan is to roll out an initial 10,000 Red Cheetah hotspots in Lagos which will be the largest Wi-Fi footprint of its kind anywhere in Africa and will cover many verticals including schools, airports, buses, taxis, shopping malls, bars, clubs, restaurants, open markets, hospitals and in fact any place where Nigerians need to research, catch up on work and play. This revolutionary service powered by SWIFT is fast, secure, reliable and supported by legendary sponsor brands with strong commitment to corporate social responsibility to Nigeria”, enthused Mr. Chukwuma Okoye, Chief Operating Officer of SWIFT.

Red Cheetah hotspots went live in Lagos earlier this month at certain locations including MMA-2, Hard Rock Café, Shiro restaurant, Festival Mall, some Tastee Fired Chicken and Bukka Hut outlets, over 200 BRT Buses, Smart Cabs, Eko Hospital, VGC Club, among others. The rollout is ongoing and more locations are being added on a daily basis towards our 10,000 hotspot target in Lagos.

Prospective Red Cheetah users must first download the Red Cheetah app for Android free from the Google Play Store or www.redcheetah.net and complete a mandatory one-time online registration process. Users are allowed to register multiple android devices as every device must be independently registered to access the internet via Red Cheetah. The first Red Cheetah app release is for the Android operating system only while the other operating systems will follow shortly. Users will be expected to view adverts at intervals from the sponsors and partners who make the free service possible.
