The solution to the Niger Delta issue is to go back to Awolowo's 1945 "Thought to Nigerian constitution" for which one of the leaders in the region Retrd. Rear admiral Deity Spiff now a traditional ruler has always repeated that the solution to Nigeria problem is to go back to correct the deliberate refusal of the NPC/ NCNC coalition govt. to create the COR state of ( Calabar Ogoja River state ) in 1963 from the then Eastern Region as was done in the creation of the Mid West from the former Western Region.
It will be recalled that Awolowo had proposed in 1945 for the creation of 3 additional regions by the time Nigeria is granted independent by the colonial masters these proposed regions were Middle belt from the North, Mid west from the West and Calabar_Ogoja_Rivers from the East but for selfish political reasons only the Mid West was created leaving the other 2 regions so the cause of our problems today. The ministry of niger delta is a discrimination policy. which discriminate against other nigerian. And that discrimination need to stop. By changing the name of the ministry to cover all nigerian.
