Number 1: CHARACTER

Every BBnaija housemates whether Ex or New should consider H.Jackson Brown’s position about character. In his words, “Good character is more to be praised than outstanding talent. Most talents are, to some extent, a gift. Good character, by contrast, is not given to us. We have to build it, piece by piece – by thought, choice, courage, and determination.”

A deep survey into the world reveals that many people have charisma but lack character. Many folks have gigantic visions, dynamic potentialities and good dispositions but are really rotten on the inside. The lack of character in BBnaija house is not easily noticed until an intimate relationship and time reveals who they really and truly are. Character is a foundational issue in life.

Foundation have two important characteristics: they are always invisible and unattractive. The buried foundation holds the building. As long as you have a good character, your success is guaranteed in life. But when you are bad-mannered, you will have problems accomplishing your goals. Undoubtedly, the depth of your good character will greatly determine the height of your achievements. BBnaija housemates doesn’t know that “Good character is like a tree and reputation is it’s shadow. The shadow is what we think of the tree but the tree is what it actually is.

An old adage says: “Sow an act to reap a habit; Sow a habit to reap a character; Sow a character and you’ll reap destiny.” This means that whatever you do once is an act; your repeated acts form your habits while repeated habits form your character. Eventually, your character will metamorphose into a blissful or blistering destiny.


Number 2: HABIT

Of all the stages in destiny formation, the stage of forming a HABIT seems to be most dangerous. Why? As they say, Habits die Hard! A habit is often an insignificant act that you do without thinking about it or intending to do it. It was formed consciously but is now acted unconsciously and has become your second nature. Habit is defined as acquired tendencies formed as a result of repeated behavior which later becomes attitude. This attitude is often difficult to break easily. When you spell the word “H-A-B-I-T“, by removing the first letter from the word, you have “A-BIT” of it remaining. Remove the second letter, you have “BIT” of it and by removing the third letter, you’ll come back to “IT“.


It is recommended that any act that pricks your conscience must not be repeated. BBnaija housemates fails to understand that “Trying not to repeat a wrong act means you are disciplined and that you are in control of yourself. Repeating wrong acts strengthens the root of bad habits. Hence, your acts, habits and character are the fabrics that make up your destiny.

What is Relationship?

Relationship is a ship that Carries two or more people to a destination or is an eternal, unavoidable issue in the entire spectrum of life.

Relationship Phenomenon!

Relationship is a major factor in the quest for greatness. A factor is anything that has the power to either facilitate or militate against a phenomenon or person. One of the major factors in the issue of destiny is Relationship. Interpersonal skill is a fundamental requirement in the labour market. It is the most valuable and most rewarded skill in any company or nation. It has been said that people are the only eternal resource on earth. Hence, your success depends on your ability to make good use of this resource.

One of the greatest assets of a man is his ability to manage and maintain fulfilling and rewarding relationships. Anthony J D’Angelo said, “Treasure your relationships, not your possessions. ‘John F. Kennedy said, ‘The best way to go along is to get along with others.’ Zig Ziglar speculated that ‘When you can relate harmoniously with all kinds of people, you are on your way to the top’ and Gary Smaller said, ‘Life is relationship; the rest is just details.’
Statistical information reveals that:

People who are at the lowest level in multinational firms have 75percent technical ability and 25percent people skill

Those who are at the middle level have 50percent technical ability and 50percent people skill while

The men at the highest level have 25percent technical ability and 75percent people skill.

You see the difference is clear! That is why relationship is crucial!. Think about this:

The word, ‘relationship’ is a compound word: ‘relation and ‘ship’. Relationship is all about ‘relation’ in the same ‘ship.’ There are many ships we board in life. Some of them are: Friendship ( friends in the same ship); Membership ( members in the same ship) and others are: Leadership, Followership, Studentship, Discipleship, fellowship, Ownership and so on.

Every relationship is actually a ‘ship’s that takes u from coast to coast. Some relationships are avenues for blessings while others are avenues to learn lessons.
Factors

The relationships you keep could be: a catalyst or cataract to your dreams; a pillar or caterpillar to your destiny; and a setback or springboard to your success. It could also be an albatross around your neck. I have painted the word ‘relationship’ as a ship that carries two or more people to a destination. So, you can’t be in a relationship alone. Definitely, there must be people on board with you in the ship because it takes two or more to tango. Now, the BIG question is: Who is your ship mate? And the people in the ship with you? The character of your ship mates will determine the direction of your life.

Your ‘Ship mates’ will definitely influence you, either positively or negatively. They can add to you, subtract from you, divide your vision and multiply your joy or sorrow. This is the more reason why we need to know what relationship is all about. When you agree to be someone’s friend, you have submitted yourself to be influenced by him or her. So, any relationship that you do not define has the power to confine you.

Let me ask you these questions: ‘ Do you assess people before you give them access into your life? or you just fall for every person who asks you out for a date?’. Do you know that most people are unpredictable; they are like courses that need to be studied and understudied. Hopefully, Do you know that an expired product is always packaged with the same brand as others without being noticed until you carefully check it?
