I will say not just the medical profession alone. Almost all the players in the industry are leaving. Nurses, doctors, pharm and so on.
Working conditions poor
Dominance of one profession over others
Inadequate remuneration
No/less incentives

Good one but my question is that...did she do it alone? No of course. There was a Nurse that died too. So why is that she is the only person been honoured. Let's learn to honour everyone that have exempted him/herself in a course. RIP DR, RIP Nurse, RIP to others that we don't know.....may your souls and the souls of he faithfully departed rest in peace.

Hi guys, I am a serving coper in Jigawa state. I will be sharing my experience so far in this state.
Note: 1. this is just to provide info for those posted here or those that want to be posted here
2.info is based on the current trend in Jigawa state
3. Feel free to ask questions

My experience/perception
Jigawa is a very peaceful(no boko boys here) and friendly place.
It has about 27 LGA, 5 emirates.
Nysc zone are 3, dutse, Kazaure, Hadejia.
Jigawa has two camps, Gumel and Fanisua
Of course, some places are OK to live in and some are apology
Most of all the LGA provide accommodation except dutse town
State government pay coppers allowance bimonthly
Amount is 5k (non medical coppers), 16k (Nurses, pharmacy, Physiotherapists, med lab etc) and 26k (doctors, Dieticians, Dentist)
Housing cost in dutse is from 35k -50k.

Will be back for more......

OGP's contract is for 4160 hours (2 years) while Avant's contract is for 6240 hours. With OGP, you will have to work for at least 40 hours a week to complete the contract in 2 years. Any hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a week does not count towards the contract hours but you will get the applicable pay. Chances of completing the contract in less than 2 years is almost impossible.
Avant's contract is in two parts. The first part is 4160 hours and the second part is 2080 hours. On completion of the first part, you have to option to convert to a full time staff of the hospital where you are assigned. On conversion, the second part of the contract does not come into being. However, if you do not convert, Avant will assign you to another facility to complete the 2080 hours.
Being a full-time staff of the hospital makes you eligible for benefits like better health insurance coverage for you and your family, better pay, better time-offs, better retirement plans etc.
The best part of the Avant contract is that all hours worked count towards the the contract hours. For example, I completed 2080 hours in less than ten months. By the grace of God, I'll complete 4160 hours in less than 2 years.
Finally, with Avant, you do not pay anything towards your NCLEX-RN review program. Avant also has a unique transition program that prepares you to adapt quickly to life in the US.
thanks for the info. I got a call from avant and they were telling me that I should do my cgfns exams first and contact them.

Hmm.. My reasons..
1. Texas does not need ielts
2. It is a compact state
3. Less tax
4. High wages due to low cost of living
5. Diversity. The black community is massive

Why did you choose Boston?

Boston is one of the highest paid states, scope of practice is not limited, you can still apply even without a SSN and no English test if you were taught in English

Y is it that everybody want to practice in Texas as if its only Texas that is the only state in USA. I am looking forward to heading to Boston, MA.......bottom line, let's try to inquire about other states before we run into Texas and like you know, license is for a state not like Nigeria that is for a country..

Seriously.. Why am i the only one answering questions here?
I love what @ogwashiukwu, @endowed, @gratefulme and Co did earlier.. Please let us all contribute the little we know and stop keeping the knowledge to ourselves, your experience during that application, the mistake you made etc may help someone else too. Please please please let's be our brothers and sisters keeper. So many of us have gone through this stage, others are currently prepping for nclex while some have even passed and are working already, what do you stand to gain if you can't help your fellow collegue with information to make the process less cumbersome? Let's stop this habit of waiting for one person to contribute and answer all the questions, I may not come online for a week or two.. I don't expect the forum to come to a standstill in my absence. We need to work together to achieve our goal. So please oga, madam, pickin don't just come here look and go. Talk your own.

Sorry for my rant this morning my good people
Happy good Friday
#still in the spirit of Easter.
am here now. We will answer them together

Corrections, there were 300+ arrests over the most recent attacks. Do your research before posting half-truths.
my friend dnt believe every single thing on TV or dailies. They are killing Nigerians. No single arrest...even if they were, who will charge them to court? Even police are among those killing foreigners

SHOPRITE SPEAKS OUT AGAINST XENOPHOBIA

Shoprite Nigeria strongly condemns any kind of xenophobic violence and intimidation against the citizens of other countries, anywhere in the world. The retailer is highly concerned at the acts of violence against foreign nationals that sporadically flare up in South Africa and the resultant rhetoric of intolerance that is now being levelled against South Africans living in Nigeria.
As a company with deep African roots who employs thousands of African nationals and most importantly works to bring low prices to 14 countries outside of South Africa, we would like to see an end to xenophobia across the continent.
Shoprite appeals to the general public of South Africa and Nigeria to protect the human dignity and safety of all people living in both countries.
We remain committed to work with industry and the appropriate consumer groups to engage so that decisive action is taken against those involved in violent crimes and intimidation against foreign nationals as well as to convey our strong position against xenophobia.

i don't blame you...I blame my stupid government for this opportunity given....I Neva reli knew the situation about xenophobic attack until I watched a video when a Nigerian was shot multiple times in cold blood all in the name of "taking our jobs" I suggest we drive out all these south Africa guys from here and see who lose. Useless people of South Africa
Travel / Re: Postpone U.s Trip For Now Presidency Urges Nigerians by desy24444(m): 6:17pm On Mar 06, 2017
Factfinder1:
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has advised Nigerians who have no compelling or urgent reason to travel to the US to postpone their travel plans until the new administration’s policy on immigration is clear.

A statement in Abuja by Dabiri-Erewa’s media aide, Abdurrahman Balogun, said that the warning became imperative due to series of reports received by the office of the SSA.

In the last few weeks, the office has received a few cases of Nigerians with valid multiple-entry US visas being denied entry and sent back to the Nigeria. In such cases reported to the office, such affected persons were sent back immediately on the next available flight and their visas were cancelled,” she said. Dabiri -Erewa said that “no reasons were given for the decision by the US immigration authorities.” The Presidential aide said that the statement “is only to advise Nigerians without any compelling or essential reasons to visit the US to consider rescheduling their trip until there is clarity on the new immigration policy.”
She, however, reminded Nigerians in the Diaspora to abide by the rules and regulations of their host countries and be good ambassadors of the country.
