This is politics and anything can be said to win voters sympathy. the truth is Buhari is simply a spoiler because he knows this is his last chance and he also knows he cannot defeat jonathan.  people should always rememeber that mud throwing is a common feature of nigerian politics, buhari just lied to disorganise the north and create pandemonium. he is not the kind of leader nigeria needs because:
1. buhari is an ethnic and religious bigot
2. buhari has repeatedly called for nigerians to only vote for muslims; is he the type that would hand over to bakare?
3. buhari practices selective justice where some are exempted from punishment eg alhaji abubakar alhaji operated many foreign accounts and remnained free  while fela was jailed for being in possession of a foreign exchange for the upkeep of his band;
4. please think would buhari have executed batholomew owoh and co if they were muslims or were bearing names as ibrahim or mohammed or abubakar? but buhari knew of babangida's coup but said he did not want to have blood on his hands;
5. BUHARI IS GOOD MILITARY OFFICER AND A GOOD ADMINISTRATOR BUT CANNOT LEAD A HETEREOGENOUS NATION LIKE NIGERIA THAT NEEDS A HIGHLY ACCOMMODATING AND TOLERANT LEADER!!!!

these are two men at two extremes perhaps two radicals in a team. buhari is a bigot and a shameless one and bakare (once a muslim) can be classified a radical and very vocal cleric and what he is doing in politics baffles me! it is a most uncomfortable union that I know would not stand the test of time. The choice of Bakare I know was tactical: he represents Christians and is from the south west. But we are not deceived by all that  cos they will not win and definitely the choice of Bakare as running mate would not make me forget buhari’s attempt to islamise Nigeria and his request for his fellow muslims to vote for a muslim in the wake sharia declarations across northern Nigeria some years back. Buhari represents the old brigade who are reactionaries, intolerant to superior criticism and half educated. Bakare, utomi, momodu, ribadu should have begun their quest at the state level and joined more established political parties.

The voting pattern at the primaries is indicative of things to come.  Bias for character over  money, education over ignorance, professionalism over the ‘business as usual syndrome’ and the advent of  a new generation of leaders who are well educated and professional.  For Atiku and the northern elders, it is the long overdue eclipse of a generation that have held the north by the jugular for so and perhaps too long. It is the emancipation of a generation and clearly a quantum leap forward for the north.  Atiku displayed unbelievable political naivety by burning too many bridges during his sojourn in the Action Congress (AC). The  unrelenting and acrimonious legal battle he fought against the Presidency of his benefactor’s younger brother, Shehu Musa Yar adua and his unwillingness to withdraw the case despite entreaties from many influential northern elements did him in finally.
For now Atiku is a closing chapter in Nigeria’s political history.

yes sadly that the way it is; its sometimes best to look for ladies with affluent backgrounds for marriage and not just those from struggling backgrounds as that struggling level is one of wickedness replete with the dog eat dog syndrome
