It's genuinely troubling to see that instead of raising academic standards, we're steadily lowering them. A few years ago, I sat for the UTME. My first attempt (still paper-based) was 155. Never got a university admission. I tried again under the CBT format and scored 200. Still didn't get a university admission. I studied harder and sat for it in 2017, scoring 279. Scored 220 in Post-UTME. The cut-off for my preferred institution was 180 at the time, and I gained admission on merit. That journey taught me the value of genuine preparation and resilience. Today, scoring 200 is considered luxury! What makes the situation even worse is the role some parents and guardians play. Many are quick to claim their child is "too smart" for their current class and push them into 2nd or even 3rd class ahead of their peers. While the intention may be good, the reality is that quite a number of these children struggle to cope and never truly catch up with the academic demands of their new level. |

donsheddy1:I haven't said Nigerians had no other options. You should have spent some more time to read what I wrote. If you observe, we didn't really have many options in Fintech industry for global transactions. If we did, there were still a lot of processes to secure one. Only real online entrepreneurs who have been in this online struggle since the past 2 decades will understand. |

I personally can't start counting the number of opportunities I couldn't take advantage of due to PayPal's blacklisting of Nigeria. Lots of foreign and genuine affiliate marketing opportunities all paying only via PayPal. But most Nigerians couldn't take advantage. Are we even talking about some foreign clients we couldn't work with due to inability to accept payments through PayPal? I can go on and on. After over 20 years of such restrictions, what suddenly changed? To h£ll with PayPal ! |

I don't know why people still pay for scripts in third party sites. It might be cheap to get but consequences are very expensive. I have worked on a crypto script that maliciously updates wallet addresses automatically. The owner of the website lost a significant amount of money before I finally figured out where the malicious script was embedded. Just hire a developer to build something secure and highly customised for you. Plus, if you encounter any issues, you always have the developer to fall back to and he will resolve it for you since he was the one who built it.
