Theme For David Jeremiah Devotional 14 February 2020 - GOD OF GODS

[King Nebuchadnezzar] answered Daniel, and said, “Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.”
Daniel 2:47

Recommended Reading: Deuteronomy 10:14, 17

Miracles occurred during the ministry of Moses, during the ministries of Elijah and Elisha, during the ministry of Jesus, and during the ministries of the apostles. In every case, they served to authenticate that the words being attributed to God were actually from God. And the miracles they performed had a dramatic effect on those who witnessed them.

Miracles also occurred during the life of Daniel in Babylon. When the King of Babylon had a dream, he insisted that his counselors first reveal the dream before declaring its meaning. They were shocked: Who could possibly know what another person dreamed? But it was a reasonable request. Otherwise, how could the king know the counselors truly had divine power? So God gave both the dream and its meaning to Daniel who then told the king. It was a miracle that had its intended effect. The king declared Daniel’s God to be the God of all gods.

We have these miracles recorded in Scripture for the same purpose: to remind us that Who is truly God of all gods.

The God of the Bible is God alone…all other gods are idols.

Religion / Joyce Meyer Devotional 14th February 2020 – Cracked Pots by Devotionals: 7:52am On Feb 14, 2020
Theme For Joyce Meyer Devotional 14th February 2020 - Cracked Pots

God works through jars of clay, or what I often call “cracked pots.” This means we are flawed, so when people look at us and see amazing things happening, they know it must be God at work because it certainly could not be us.

I believe anyone who really knows me does not have any difficulty realizing the work I am doing on earth today certainly must be God at work in and through me. They give Him the glory, not me, because they see my imperfections and know my limitations. God chooses the weak and foolish things on purpose so no human can have reason to boast in His presence (1 Corinthians 1:27–29).

Imagine a pot with a lamp in it and a lid on it. Even though it may be filled with light, no one can see the light within it. Yet if the pot is cracked, the light will shine through the cracks. In the same way, God works through our imperfections.

Can you love a cracked pot? God can! It is godly to love yourself in a balanced, healthy way. It is ungodly to reject and despise yourself.

Prayer Starter: Father, You and I are both well aware of my imperfections. Please shine Your light through my life, and help me remember that You get every ounce of glory for it. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

MEMORISE:

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16

READ: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?

12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Leviticus 5-7

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMN 22: OH LORD MY GOD!.

1. O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Chorus:
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

2. When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

3. And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on a Cross, my burdens gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

4. When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

Theme For David Jeremiah Devotional 13th February 2020 - WHO HOLDS THE FUTURE

As for you, O king, thoughts came to your mind while on your bed, about what would come to pass after this; and He who reveals secrets has made known to you what will be.
Daniel 2:29

Recommended Reading: Daniel 2:24-30

In the first half of the twentieth century, the American federal government and courts began ruling that buying and selling stocks based on non-public information—what came to be called “insider trading”—was illegal. Just think of the advantages one might have if future information about a company—or a nation—were to be gained.

That was the kind of knowledge the prophet Daniel had—not on his own, but by virtue of God’s revelation to him (Daniel 2:27-28). Daniel foretold to the king of Babylon, the existing king of kings of the world, that his kingdom would fall and be followed by three more. And all those kingdoms would be replaced by the kingdom of “the God of heaven” (Daniel 2:44). Daniel didn’t reveal this information to profit from it personally, but to cause Nebuchadnezzar to humble himself before the God who “removes kings and raises up kings” (Daniel 2:21).

We may not fully understand and know everything the future holds, but we can place our faith and trust in the One who does. Our future is in good hands—place your trust in Him.

Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.

Religion / Joyce Meyer Devotional 13th February 2020 – Choose Inner Purity by Devotionals: 8:38am On Feb 13, 2020
Theme For Joyce Meyer Devotional 13th February 2020 - Choose Inner Purity

How would you label your thoughts, attitudes, imaginations, opinions, and judgments? Are they clean or corrupt? Pure or carnal?

Inner purity is a challenge that requires you to pay attention to your inner life with determination and diligence. In the beginning, it may feel like most of your thoughts, imaginations, and attitudes are corrupt. But as you keep at it (with the Holy Spirit’s help), new habits will develop, and you’ll be able to enjoy inner purity.

What you do outwardly—the things that people see—determines your reputation with people, but your inner life determines your reputation with God.

Choosing inner purity is something you do to honor God. No wonder He says a pure heart is precious in His sight!

Prayer Starter: Father, please give me grace to pay close attention to my inner life, and to consistently choose pure, positive thoughts. Thank you for helping me to walk in greater levels of purity and closeness with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
