InvestmentFree Cooking Gas! 24/7 Electricity! Make Ngn 2000 Daily. See How. by Dexpro(op): 10:42pm On Feb 01, 2016
With due respect to the moderator of this section, i hope this is the right section to post this very useful material. Over the past three years, research has been ongoing on how to harness the power of BIOGAS.
In view of this, i have decided to take any person who might be interested in generating his/her (Cooking/Electricity) energy @ home by the hand on how to construct a 500L BIOGAS TANK for domestic consumption ONLY.
This lesson is made possible by my teacher in BIOGAS TECHNOLOGY, MR J. Antoni Raj. (Rtd) Civil Engineer, Uthamapalayam and Dr. S Ajmal Khan, M.sc, P.hd, Professor- Emeritus, Centre of Advanced Study in Marine Biology, Annamalal University, Paranglpettai, India.
All lectures will be supported with pictures. I need 10 nairalanders to indicate interest before i proceed. PLS DON'T DROP YOUR EMAILS.

Hi, though you have said it is not costly to start the biogas, but can u just give us the estimated budget so that we can know what to expect. I believe it will go along to help so as to know if it is sth someone can start immediately as some ppl might have the money to start right away but don't know their capital is enough to start. Thanks
Yea, well spoken. But the issue is we have seven types of BIOGAS plants. It all depends on the you want constructed for you. If you want the one depicted on my tutorial, then we start costing from basic things like the GP tanks.

The removal of subsidy on kerosene I believe is unfair. The masses will bear brunt, myself inclusive. You can read more here www.nairaland.com/2887625/fg-ends-kerosene- subsidy-sell
What is the rationale behind the removal? Can someone please educate me? Our dear country is endowed with natural resources if well managed and harnessed, will make life very comfortable for us. I hardly will make a negative statement against our politicians but permit me to say those that made this particular decision missed it.
I vividly can recall back then when my dad will send me to buy kero at a pump price of N6 per litre. I pay N120 for 20 litre of kerosene. Now see what we have.
Here this: Don't use your words to describe the situation. Use your words to change the situation. Joel Osteen.
My fellow country men, we need a revolution (An awakening) in the energy sector. I have stated categorically that we have what it takes to be energy independent. I have advocated the use of renewable energy (Biogas) for urban and rural use.
Benefits of Biogas Technology
Well-functioning biogas systems can yield a whole range of benefits for their users, the society and the environment in general:
Production of energy (heat, light, electricity); transformation of organic waste into high quality fertilizer;
Reduction of volume of disposed waste products;
Improvement of hygienic conditions through reduction of pathogens, worm eggs and flies;
Encouragement of better sanitation;
Reduction of workload, mainly for women, in firewood collection and cooking.
Environmental advantages through protection of soil, water, air and woody vegetation;
Micro-economical benefits through energy and fertilizer substitution, additional income sources and increasing yields of animal husbandry and agriculture;
Macro-economical benefits through decentralized energy generation, import substitution and environmental protection.
Thus, biogas technology can substancially contribute to conservation and development.
Why then are we slaves to what we can master?

i need idea,want to purchase a small cab to be used for transportation to run within Lagos state,what are the requirement to succeed in the transportation business. i will like to get a driver that will be giving me weekly turnups.
Can someone brief me on the amount the driver will likely be submitting at the end of the week. note: His root will be from Ajah to Epe
My dear, running a cab may not be profitable to you. Why? Because whoever it is you employ to drive for you will never be faithful. They will cook up all sort of stories after a good business day (to his pocket) and he will give you peanut.

This happened to me personally. I had a cab, the man initially started well for a period of two weeks. After that period, it will either be road safety today or flat tyre. Sometime he will come and pick the vehicle as early as 4:30am, run it till around 12noon, only for him to come back claiming his mother is ill and will travel to see her. My sister, that day is wasted coz he will not drop the money he made since 4:30am - 12 noon.

Eventually I discovered a better kind of arrangement in the transportation sector. That will indeed pay you a lot. Mail me here on fimblecorp@gmail.com.

Fixing Gas Outlet from the Gas Holder Tank

Assemble all parts required for the gas outlet.

Using a sharp knife, make a small hole at the center of the Gas holder tank. You can make a neat round hole by just twisting the knife all around.

This hole should not be larger than the threaded portion of the accessories

Use suitable inner and outer washers at all joints. All threads must be covered with teflon tape.

Connect the gas pipe with the bend

Connect the bend with the nipple

Connect the nipple with the adapter inside the tank. Make sure all joints are tightened properly

Provide a leak proof joint by applying epoxy resin over the joint from outside and inside the tank

Preparation of Gas Pipes

I spent one full afternoon in shopping and preparing the Gas pipes. There will be three sets of gas pipes as below.

From Gas Holder tank to the Link Pipe mounted on wall

Link pipe between gas holder tank pipe and kitchen

From the link pipe to Biogas stove

Parts required

Three pieces of gas pipes, all about 2.5 meters long

Ball valve 2 numbers one with gas outlet on gas tank and another with the end of link pipe

Bend 1 number over the gas tank

Nipple 1 number over gas tank

Adapter 1 number inside gas tank connecting nipple with the bend

Three numbers of barbs with male threaded ends crimped with clips at one end of pipes

Two numbers of barbs with female ends crimped with clips at other end of pipes (One end of the pipe is left free as this will connect with the stove)

Inner and outer washers

One roll of teflon tape

Few 12 mm size U-clamps for fixing the link pipe on the wall

At the shop itself I have measured all the pipes and used their hand-crimping tool to crimp all the ends of pipes. The pipes are tested for leakage by fixing the closed ball valve at each end separately, immersed in water and blowing air from the other end.

Providing Guide Support on the Gas Holder Tank

As we have seen in the previous steps, 4 numbers of 32 mm dia guide pipes have been provided on top of the digester. In order to keep the gas holder tank in alignment, we will provide a sort of guide system on the sides of the gas tanks. Here we can use the 40 mm dia threaded couplers for this. Fix only two numbers opposite to each other. We can fix the other two once we place gas tank inside the digester and observing the movement of gas holder.

Fixing The Guides Over Digester for the Movement of Gas Holder Tank

Some sort of guides are to be provided for the easy up-and-down movement of gas holder tank. We will use the 250 mm long 32 mm dia pipes for this.There are six projected portions on top of the digester. The slurry outlet pipe and waste input pipe are in alignment with two them opposite to each other. Leaving these two we will fix 32 mm pipes on other four projections. These pipes will be extended after placing the gas holder tank.

Place the 32 mm dia pipe on top of projections and make a mark

Using a hacksaw cut and remove a square portion of the marked area.

Insert 32 mm dia pipes on all these cut portions and fix with M-seal epoxy compound

After the compound is cured cut and remove excess leaving about 25 mm projection

Fixing Slurry Outlet Pipe With The Digester Tank

The 50 mm dia 300 mm long pipe is to be fitted at the top of digester for the slurry outlet

Place the pipe on top portion of digester tank opposite to the feed pipe

Mark the cutting line

Using a sharp knife cut along the guide line and remove the cut piece

Insert the slurry outlet pipe and seal with M-seal epoxy compound from both sides of the tank

You can cut and remove the extra projection inside tank if required. Otherwise leave as it is

BusinessRe: Biogas Plant Using Kitchen And Food Waste - A way forward for Nigeria by Dexpro(op): 6:25pm On Jan 13, 2016
Good question Sir. Air can neither come in or go out. This is how. Your gas holder tank will initially sit on the digestate. As pressure builds inside the digester, the digested organic waste will automatically rise to be let out through the slurry outlet. Meanwhile, your gas will be stored right inside the gas storage tank. Water or any liquid substance will find its level as long as there is pressure present. Hope you understand.
agslow:
Nice work sir God bless your brain, pls sir my question is about the outlet pipe..... Is it sealed or left open? If open, won't air (oxygen etc) enter the tank from it? Or won't the already formed gas escape?.......... Urgent answer please!!!!!. Thanks
