Hello Guys,

Like I have been crying here every day, I am still unable to book an appointment after making payment via EFT since the 20th of September 2024.

I have called customer care every day since this terrible thing happened, Created 11 ticked and 3 is on hold.

I called today and I was given the US embassy number in Lagos to call them and ask for an appointment - 08014603400. The number doesn't go through. If anyone has had this problem and resolved it please let me know how you went about it. Mine is 3 weeks and counting

Mine has been pending since 20th Sept 2024. I check my portal everyday and calls them everyday, even OyoTunji seems to have given up on my case.

It is sad that since I made the payment on September 20th, I have been unable to schedule an appointment. I have been calling every day. I think the people on the phone have received too many of these kinds of issues that they just say it is an IT issue. How is it even fair that some people have these kinds of issues and it is still pending? A whole USA the hub of tech? Thats disappointing

Do you all advise we go to their physical office? because call every day and raising a ticket is not resolving this issue. Please if u r experiencing this say ..........................i

Nooo, I am unable to book an appointment after making payment for my MRV, my payment has been updated from the backend, but from the front end I see it nor proceed, rather it tells me to make another payment.

Yes, that's what I have been doing, I have been calling every day and each time I call they mention they have escalated the ticket and the issue is with the relevant departments. They are no longer even escalating my ticket because they noted there is no point since from their end the ticket is on hold means they are working on it. But till now nothing has changed, I can't schedule an appointment. I was due to travel on the 4th of October for a tech event and it is on that DS-120 I paid, what happens now? since the event is tomorrow? I can't change the information on the DS form since I made the payment on that basis.

TBF, I have had staff pick up my calls and I know this because of the accent, when the Americans speak and when asians talk I know who I am talking to. off recently it is even the Americans that have been picking up my calls. Still, the issue persists

1. No. Your last update was that they could see your payment over there , but you cannot proceed with your appointment in your profile . You also wrote that you planned to restart your browser and relogin.

2. I will recommend you call the helpline again, because most time, your calls are being taken by a new or inexperienced or exhausted staff, and such staff just want to tell you something so that you can hang-up 😄

3. Do not open any tickets again. I would rather you continued calling the support-staffs , perhaps you will engage an experienced staff who will attend to your issues.

I have not been able to schedule an appointment yet and it has been 3 weeks now and counting, I have created 11 tickets as I speak although 2 3 were put on hold.

Please is anyone still in my shoes, it is so frustrating. I can't say if this is village people...lol

They have confirmed that they can see my payment from their end, but I cannot see it from my end. That is the main issue at hand, hence I cannot book an appointment. But let me shut down my computer for a while and do as you say.

1. I thought you have even booked an appointment? It seems none of your MRV payment has been confirmed? Switch off and on your phone or computer , or restart it, then log out and log back to AVITS and navigate the clickable options again.

2. Call the helpline physically again.
Most of the time,your calls to the help-desk goes to the new/junior/baby staffs, and you need to keep calling in order to get it touch with the right experienced ones. Those calls goes to staffs randomly.

PS: You may also visit the bank if you have paid physically.

There is no place to delete pending requests, I did a short video but realized I cannot upload a video to this page.

1. Cancel your appointment request. It will delete all details you have and you will need to start all over . You can then start all over with a new email and phone number , and only quote your recent and confirmed MRV payment acknowledgement.
Don't raise any ticket about your double payment of MRV again, if you do, you won't be granted visa appointment.

1. We are all in the process of learning, and on the early days of introduction , one of the AVITS helpline-staffs gave the awareness of profile self-deletion which i have done several times.
There is also a section , where you are not supposed to write anything in the middle name, and if you do it will pop up double profile.

PS: In whatever way, my priority is to give the best of my knowledge in guiding applicants here. I may not be right all the time, but that percentage is 20% over 100. I triple check with various means , before i post on public forum, knowing that my reputation is at stake .

2. How can you delete a profile and you want to relogin with the same info ?

3. If you have double profile in the same AVITS login , how do you resolve it ?

PS: The new system AVITS allow creation, deletion and multiplication of profiles (family application). If you don't do it the right way , you get wrong result.

1. USA embassy cannot be forced into VISA APPLICATION related action by mass protests, physical or via social media. If you go on X.com a.k.a twitter, they will still direct you to go and follow instructions.

2. I understand your frustration, but the embassy has stated that any applicant that is having payment issue
" should not pay another VISA fee , but should raise a ticket. Your scenario is likely that, you are bombarding the embassy with tickets (complaint), while previous tickets have not been resolved.

3. This is what i will suggest : Keep your payment records intact . Login to AVITS and delete your profile (s). Some applicants are communicating with the embassy with complicated profiles. * Re-visit AVIT, sign up with a new email and phone number , and create a new ticket based on one MRV payment . You can make back up calls in support of the tickets, and wait for the confirmation.

PS: The above is the solution, not escalation. You may email the embassy with your payment acknowledgement too .

Thats crazy, How many tickets have you created? How do you think we can resolve this? This is also my second MRV. I have create ticket daily and make calls.

I am having this issue. I have two applications, first one I apaid the MRV on 31st August and have not been able to proceed to Visa interview scheduling till now. I have called different contacts and they kept redirecting me to another contact until it got into a in circle. The 2nd application, the MRV was paid on 18th September and till now, I am also not able to proceed for that one too.
This whole new system is so frustrating!!!!

Thank you for your constant response - Yes I have done everything you mentioned here, I screenshot the error message and sent to them in the form of tickets. But I will call the Nigerian telephone number you dropped here on Monday, I have been calling them via the website and they claimed they have been escalating the issue.

I want to know if those who had similar problems have resolved it. This is frustrating

1. Why not screenshot your AVITS profile for people to see Whats going on ? Were you charged the MRV fee ? Did you attach your payment acknowledgement along in your ticket message ? These are the important scenarios to be considered.

2. Creating ticket is the official recommendation of the US embassy thus ;

If you paid by card or cash/ EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) and payment is delayed longer than the usual processing time, please use the ''Create a ticket'' option in your scheduling account on usvisaappt.com to send us the payment confirmation and the screenshot of the error you encountered, alongside with a brief explanation of the error.

* Please do not make an additional payment as it will not be refunded. You may as well use the other options to reach out ;

it is unfair nobody wants to answer me. Has anyone been able to navigate this issue of not being able to book an appointment since I made a payment last week Friday, it is over a week. I have made calls every day and have created at least 8 tickets. If anybody has been able to navigate this big problem. Please let me know. if you navigated this issue by just raising tickets please can u share with me the exact ticket u raise and the wording?

I am so sad, it is been over 1 week. I honestly do not understand what is happening now

Since last Friday, I can't still book an appointment after paying the visa fee. From their end, they can see the payment has been updated but from my end, it keeps telling me to make payment. This kind of patient is very exhasting. I am due to travel for an event for October, it was for this sole reason I made another MRV, imagine paying over 600K in one year and I really need this money. TBF I am upset. The event is for 1st week of October 2024. I don't even know what to do. I have called the help desk several times complaining bitterly, from thier end they can see my payment has been updated, meanwhile from myn end I cant see anything. I am just livid and disappointed.

1. You guys should be clapping for the IT staffs @AVITS b/cos they are attending to millions of VISA applicants daily , with possible under staff.

2. The best things to do in all of your situations are to raise a ticket, call the helpline , restart your browser, login and log out , change your browser etc, and go home ,and be watching television instead of developing hypertension, while checking once in a day for positive outcome.

3. AVITS staffs are treating your tickets randomly, so it's a kind of game of luck. Their system is also undergoing trial and error era, which is expected to continue all through 2024.

PS: Patient is all you need.

This is the same issue I am experiencing. This is my second MRV , I have asked them for a refund if they will not allow me to book an appointment. You cant hold my money to ransom on the bases they wont refund.

Pls help me oo. Today make it One week i made payment for B1/b2 visa fees at First bank in which I generate the bank slip from Avits. Now I cannot book appointments have call the customer service they said I should create ticket and send my payment confirmation and bank slip to dem . Nothing is done ooo. 1. I hope this is not " the funniest joke of the week ?
USA embassy does not refund VISA (MRV) fee, and it is clearly stated repeatedly on their website, especially when making payment. You should not have rushed to pay another fee, you should have asked question regarding your appointment here.

2. Just pray that you are not even getting a " double whammy" by having two profiles on AVITS.
Open a ticket (complain message), by navigating the support option in your profile and attach the necessary documents in support of your request. You should also call the support -staffs.

Hello People,

How long does it take for the payment to reflect on your dashboard for the new site? I made the payment just a few minutes ago however I can't schedule an appointment and I have an event for October 4th, this is my second MRV payment. The first was in March and then the second is just now.

While others have migrated their data to the new site, can I get a refund for the one I made in March?

Also how long does it take for the second 1 to reflect?
My first MRV payment was 350k, its too painful

Has anyone done an expedited application before? I paid for a visa fee in March, However, I want to apply for an expedited application.

I realized with the site they changed the bank to First Bank, whereas I paid to GTB in March.

I raised a ticked explaining the situation and the issue. What is the typical response time when tickets are raised?

Do I have to pay for a new MRV to get an interview date and for my trip in March?

Thank you for your reply. She never got me an appointment date that is what I am trying to say. Will I still receive the email from the US embassy?

Also I created a new file on Avis , but I stopped because it was requesting some personal details and I did not bother proceeding because I felt I havent done enough research, some days later she then sent me a message asking me to watch out for an email. I am now confused on what to do because I have been waiting since March. What will now happen? Since I have created another profile on the new site although didnt complete it ?

1. It's DS -160 not DS-120. She could not get you a date and i don't think she can because 6- months is much if she really has a magic to offer. Although, she might have tried her best by using the reschedule option, or failed emergency request but that is now past story.

2. For the new website, you do not have to create any profile until you receive the introduction email from the embassy, so she is right. If you go ahead to create another profile on the new website , you won't be able to move further except you are ready to pay another MRV (visa fee), and by creating a new profile means , you now have a double profile with the USA embassy. In all, your old appointment and VISA fee payment is intact. She just lied to you in order to discourage you from opening another profile , which is the best idea she can use.

PS: Wait for the introduction email from the embassy. It applies to everyone. It's an idea from the embassy to make all VISA applicants wait for their turn.

I paid to GTBank, I filled the form myself on the DS120 and for the interview website I created details and sent her my my deets and 6 months later she has not gotten a date.

Please I will like to hear other people opinion on this, because there is no where on the US consulate site mentioning that one would forfit their payment if they created a page on the new site

Hello All,

Please come to my Aid, I paid an travel company for date since March 2024, till now she has not gotten me a date,

I have filled my DS160 form and now she is claiming that I am meant to receive an email from the embassey and till then I cannot do anything if not I will forfit the visa feee I paid in GTBank is it true? Because I was able to create an account on AVIS and I was about putting in my DS160 detials but I thought I should seek guidance.

Should go ahead and apply for a date? because the essence of this new site is to elminate agents selling slots.

Please assist me. Has anyone even gotten date and which date was it also I am in Lagos ? Please treat as high priority .
