💥 AKWA IBOM GOVERNOR CLEARS THE AIR: "I DO NOT TAMPER WITH A DIME OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT FUNDS" -Ezekiel Idiok, Uyo Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, has strongly refuted claims of state interference in local government finances, declaring that all 31 local government areas in the state receive their federal allocations directly and fully. Speaking today during the official commissioning of a key development project executed by a local government chairman, Governor Eno challenged anyone to prove otherwise, emphasizing his administration's commitment to financial autonomy at the grassroots level. "I can say without any fear of contradiction—I stand to be challenged—that all 31 Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State receive their funds directly from the federal government, and I do not tamper with one dime. All their money goes to them," the Governor stated emphatically. Clarification on Joint Account Deductions Addressing how statutory obligations are met, Governor Eno explained that the only deductions made from the allocations are for shared responsibilities, which are mutually agreed upon through the Joint Accounts Committee. According to the Governor, these deductions are strictly for "common bills" that ensure the smooth running of the basic education and local government sectors. "They only pick up their common bills like teachers' allowances, teachers' salaries, teachers' gratuities—all of those things they come together under their joint accounts committee, and once they finish deducting those, they go with the rest of the money," Governor Eno clarified. The Governor praised the host Local Government Chairman for utilizing the remaining funds effectively to deliver tangible projects for the community. He noted that the successful completion of the commissioned project is proof that local governments in Akwa Ibom are well-funded and capable of driving rural development when managed by accountable leadership. The statement comes amid ongoing national conversations regarding the financial independence of the third tier of government in Nigeria, positioning Akwa Ibom as a model for compliance with fiscal autonomy guidelines.

2027:THE GREAT SQUEEZE BEGINS—IS NIGERIA’S NEW ELECTORAL ACT A 'DEATH TRAP' FOR THE OPPOSITION? By Ezekiel U. Idiok My unbiased analysis devoid of my political affiliation examines the strategic landscape of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections following the signing of the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill 2026. With the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) aligning with new statutory timelines, the Ruling Party and the Opposition find themselves at a critical crossroads. From a strategic squeeze, the recent legislative shifts have fundamentally altered the "pre-game" phase of the 2027 elections. Under the Electoral Act 2026, the window for party primaries and the submission of candidate lists has been notably tightened. Specifically for the opposition, the timing is surgical. The tenure of the current National Executive Committee (NEC) expires on April 30,2026. Concurrently, political parties are reportedly required to submit their nominated candidates by May 30,2026. This leaves the ADC with a razor-thin 30-day margin to either: Trusting the old guard by Conducting primaries using the existing state executives before their mandate ends Or High-Speed overhauling attempt to hold ward, local government, and state congresses to elect new leadership while simultaneously organizing a national convention and presidential primaries. The Dilemma of legitimacy versus stability critic may argue that this timeline forces the major opposition into "survival mode." If they rely on the outgoing structures, they risk internal legitimacy crises and legal challenges from newcomers who may feel the process was "rigged" by the old guard. Conversely, rushing new congresses could lead to parallel structures and the kind of intra-party litigation that famously neutralized the APC in Rivers State in previous cycles. The contrasting perspective of poison or preparation discourse surrounding this "compressed" timeline is split between those who see a trap and those who see an opportunity for discipline. Some political commentators of "strategic trap" theory view the alignment as an intentional move by the presidency to destabilize the opposition. While the APC with institutional advantage also faces succession hurdles, it possesses "incumbency leverage"—deeper financial buffers and institutional control that allow it to absorb shocks more effectively than the major opposition. A seven-month campaign window (May 2026 to January 2027) favors the party with the deepest pockets. For an opposition struggling to consolidate, this extended duration could lead to financial exhaustion before the first vote is cast. A 'Sharp focus' alternative analyst suggests the timetable is a "blessing in disguise." 'Agility over inertia' political commentators Proponents of this view argue the major opposition like ADC is more agile than the "entrenched" Ruling APC. The deadline may force a "fast-track" organization that energizes the base earlier than usual. On a legal necessity some political pundit noted, the legislations are not made for ill-prepared entities sitting the six-month window before the election which is designed to resolve litigations before the general vote, ensuring that voters aren't choosing candidates who might be disqualified by a court a week later. The 'Big three' and the coalition factor significant thread in the current political discourse is the potential for a "Mega-Coalition" involving Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi. Report suggest these heavyweights, along with figures like Anti-graft hunted Nasir El-Rufai and a decision-insecure Rabiu Kwankwaso increasingly looking toward the ADC as a unified platform. However, political pundits suggest that the ADC’s internal structural issues could mirror the CPC (Congress for Progressive Change) of 2011—a party with high momentum but lacking a "rallying figure with universal acceptance" or a cohesive national structure. As an APC member and a public commentator of Akwa Ibom descent and hailing from the unified political landscape of Akwa Ibom, I view these unfolding events as a vital case study in political strategy. Even as I lead the charge for my party's candidates, I believe it is crucial to document how these new statutory timelines will reshape the electoral landscape for generations to come." 💥THE SUDDEN TRUMP-INTEREST IN NIGERIA: WHAT NEXT? By Ezekiel U. Idiok Some may fault on my submission due to my perceived political affiliations. However, I bare the truth as my conscience and convictions dictate. This sudden interest may be seen by Nigerians as a reaction to the recent failed leadership coup due to the interest timming, but my questions are directed elsewhere: Why now, this sudden interest from the West? For years, expatriates have operated in Nigeria, with some alleged to have trained, funded, and armed groups like Boko Haram, ISIS, and bandits etc. Where was the international community's intervention then? Should we now trust the same foreign elements who once predicted Nigeria's eventual fragmentation doom days? Let me be clear: I do not support the killing of citizens by these criminal elements in favors of these actors who often have political, investment, and economic interests in Nigeria. I believe we are stronger than these pretentious interventions that have, for years, turned a blind eye to the nations most in need of genuine security support. Furthermore, even if the most advanced technology were brought into Nigeria today, it would be misdirected by the mindset of the local actors, who often serve the interests of their paymasters and investors at the detriment of the citizens. Regarding President Trump's sudden intervention, I pray it's genuinity, for anything less will surely fail. We are aware that the dollar's influence is being challenged by recent economic policies, such as the Naira for crude oil exchange with Dangote, the 15% tax on imported petroleum products and the planned 2026 tax reform. The government's ability to intervene and negotiate in industrial disputes—from oil to education sector—has displeased certain economic cabals. They are unhappy even as food prices begin to fall. Could it be that the current economic pressures in their own countries have ignited this so-called "sudden security interest" from Western leaders? Why a sudden security-focused intervention on a calamity that happened months ago, instead of swift diplomatic visit to deepen and foster a genuine relationship between our two countries then? So, I ask: Is this sudden security interest in Nigeria a political maneuver, an economic decision in their favor, a conspiracy, or is it truly for the sake of humanity? As my father once told me, "A frog does not jump in the daytime without motives." I leave you with the video below for your own conscience to judge. Welcome to Nigeria my opinion |

OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC NIGERIA HIS EXCELLENCY ASIWAJU AHMED BOLA TINUBU ON THE REQUEST TO INITIATE ELECTRICITY METER SUBSIDY PROGRAM AND DIRECTIVE FOR DISCOS TO METER CUSTOMERS DEAR MR. PRESIDENT I trust this letter finds you well in good spirits in your commitment to give us a better future, As a youth and a concerned citizen, I would like to express my deep appreciation for your numerous goodwill programs aimed at alleviating the suffering of the masses during this period of economic recovery. These initiatives will provide much-needed relief and will demonstrate your unwavering commitment to the well-being of all Nigerians if properly executed and monitored. However, I wish to bring to your attention a critical issue that continues to affect millions of Nigerians which is the lack of adequate metering infrastructure within our electricity distribution network. The current reliance on estimated billing is crippling small and medium-scale businesses across the country therefore fostering opportunities for corruption within the power sector. To address this pressing issue, I propose the initiation of an electricity meter subsidy program, facilitated through the Ministry of Power. This program would ensure that every household and business has access to accurate metering, thereby eliminating the contentious practice of estimated billing. Implementing this subsidy metering initiative will ensure that consumers are billed based on their actual electricity consumption, fostering fairness and transparency, Reliable and fair billing will help small and medium-scale businesses manage their operating costs more effectively, promoting economic growth, it will also Eliminate the estimated billing system which will reduce opportunities for corruption within the power sector, as billing will be based on actual usage rather than arbitrary estimates, this Accurate billing will enhance revenue collection for Distribution Companies (DISCOS), reducing losses from energy theft and non-payment and encourage consumers to manage their energy use more efficiently, reducing overall consumption and wastage. The initiative of the subsidized metering system will significantly reduce customer complaints and improve the relationship between consumers and DISCOS and complement ongoing rural electrification efforts of the Federal Government, ensuring that newly connected households and businesses have access to reliable metering from the outset. Furthermore, it is crucial to address broader systemic issues impacting our electricity supply. Many areas in the country receive only two hours of electricity over five days. Compounding this issue, communities often have to purchase and replace transformers, a responsibility that should fall to the DISCOS. These challenges not only cripple businesses but also diminish the quality of life for many Nigerians. By directing DISCOS to meter their customers under this subsidy scheme, you will be addressing a critical need and creating a legacy of fairness and progress in the Nigerian power sector. This initiative will not only benefit the masses but also promote your regime, creating a sound and outstanding history for the future. So i hereby recommend that the price of meters be subsidized to a range of ₦20,000 to ₦30,000, significantly lower than the current cost of ₦83,000 to ₦130,000. I am confident that your leadership and commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians will drive the success of this initiative. Thank you for considering this request, and I look forward to the positive impact this program will have on our nation. Yours sincerely, Vtr. Vtr. Ezekiel Idiok, a prominent socialite and media analyst, has appealed to the federal government to reconsider its plan of allocating approximately N2.8 trillion for electricity subsidies. Instead, he urges the government to prioritize subsidizing prepaid meters for Nigerians, including those in impoverished communities. Speaking to Journalist in Uyo on Tuesday morning following remarks by the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, Idiok emphasized the importance of addressing the prepaid meter issue as a more effective means of ensuring fair access to electricity. Minister Adelabu highlighted the government's need for substantial funding to maintain electricity subsidies and prevent tariff increases for the remainder of the year during a session with the Senate Committee on Power. Vtr. Idiok also called upon President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the President of the Senate, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio to intervene and reconsider the current policy to encourage power companies to improve their services to Nigerians.

As a matter of first importance I'm extremely pleased with my party, The All Progressive Congress (APC), considering the fine pro qualities of these Aspirants, from Ahmed Bola Tinubu, David Umahi, Rotimi Amaechi, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and many others. I avoided manhandling or going against any of these up-and-comers as a result of place my Party above personal sentiment and the fact that they are largely best qualities to be voted for, however just not many here are suitable at the moment like this where the Nigerians character-sort of-Citizenry with various sketchy and witty characters are scheming for their interests. I therefore list my ideal model of a Nigerian President comes 2023 in the ruling party. 1. A Candidate from Southern part who will actually win the 2023 Presidential political race through massive support from the North section of the country assuming the Opposition Party chooses to fill in a fierce Northern competitor like Alhaji Atiku Abubakar with financial Match. 2. Someone whose choices in government will make the party wins past(beyond) his Two constitutional terms or APC 16years Presidency due to the sort of resistance we have that plays grimy. 3. Somebody who isn't apprehensive or pay attention to narrow minded and degenerate Powerful political class or Religious pioneers who predicts dooms days without bit of substance since dread is the most remarkable weapon to debilitate a leader. 4. Somebody who's insight and association can resolve any party disputes even at the di-minutes with all the waring parties coming to arrangement without been questionable. 5. Somebody who has political procedures to incapacitate savages without raising dust and political tension. 6. A man who's international strategy will be cheered by populace with his quality and histories in authority. 7. An aspirant like President Muhammadu Buhari who has a large followers as a leader for backup and resistance against the State enemies destabilize actions like End-Sars-Protest, political motivated insecurity etc. 8. A man who takes a decision, possesses it and takes responsibility for his actions. I Approve this message.

BABA, 298 MILLION CAR! by Otunba Abu Going through senate decision today on investigation of 298 million naira car for senate president is very sad at this time of recession. Today, people commit suicide every day in Nigeria because they could not makes end meet and I am wondering how somebody with the right senses can order 298 million car when our population is less than 200 hundred million. To me, saraki has hundreds of both official and personal car, thus, If he decides to create an award to help Nigerians with the money like what Gown did in 1974 with Udoji civil servant award, he would have help by given 1 million naira each to every Nigerians with the money for just one car. This is 100% wasteful and if Benedict Murray-Bruce and Shehu Sani fail to come out to against this wasteful activities in the senate, they should stop disturbing us with their critics.
