Hello, I'm currently roaming my MTN line in the USA. I would like to renew the BIS which has expired. There is sufficient airtime on my phone but I'm unable to send an sms to 21600 (roaming network is Tmobile). Please advise if there is a workaround for this. Thanks.

PoliticsNigeria: Ex-militant Leader Arrested Over Bombings by dholla1(op): 10:59pm On Oct 02, 2010
South African authorities have arrested an ex-leader of a militant group that claimed responsibility for a dual car bombing that killed 12 people in Nigeria, a Nigerian secret police spokeswoman said Saturday.

The arrest of Henry Okah, a former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, came as Nigeria's secretive State Security Service acknowledged it received a warning about the impending attack long before the bombs exploded Friday.

Nonetheless, the militant group was still able to detonate the explosives only a 10-minute walk away from a ceremony in Nigeria's capital Abuja attended by the president and other dignitaries in the oil-rich nation.

"Unfortunately, there's no way security can be 100 percent foolproof," State Security Service spokeswoman Marilyn Ogar told The Associated Press. "We are happy all the same that the event went on smoothly and it wasn't interrupted."

Ogar said a "foreign partner" provided her agency with information of an impending attack on the 50th anniversary celebrations. That information apparently involved Okah, a former militant leader who left Nigeria for Johannesburg after being released from prison in July 2009 while facing treason and gun running charges.

A day before the bombings, security agencies in South Africa raided Okah's home and seized a laptop, though they did not arrest him, the militant group previously said.

t was unclear Saturday night if Okah faced any charges in South Africa. South Africa police spokeswoman Tumi Shai said police would have no comment on the matter for now, and referred queries to the Nigerian government. Saul Molobi, a spokesman for the foreign affairs ministry, also refused comment.

Ogar declined to elaborate on what evidence her agency had, saying officers continued to investigate the bombings.

PoliticsRe: Gangstar Oba Of Akure Removed! by dholla1(m): 7:42pm On Nov 10, 2009
mjbaba:
The council said that some of the allegations include: “Violation of Akure tradition and custom by personally going to the market to disturb market women from trading and engaging in wanton and indiscriminate destruction of essential food items in the markets.
“Incessant, rampant and re-occurring cases of highhandedness, brutal and repressive oppression of the people in and around the Akure community.

“Oba Oluwadare Adepoju Adesina has been personally leading a team of recruited and sponsored thugs, gangsters, hoodlums and armed terrorists to the people’s houses at the late hours of the night to inflict injuries on innocent citizens in the Akure community in his presence and at his instructions and directives.”

Apart from these, the council added that part of the allegation against the embattled Deji were descration of the palace and grooming of a notorious gang known as “60 by 120” that was involved in land disputes.

PoliticsRe: Bola Tinubu Barred From Aso Rock by dholla1(m): 9:28am On Aug 05, 2009
yarodin:
My goodness, some Igbos and Yorubas really have issues. This thread stated that an Hausa man was banning a Yoruba man from entering the Presidential Villa, and it turned into a war between the Igbos and Yorubas. Now do we see why the mallams are still ruling in Naija? Only idiots praise and glorify achievements from the past when things currently in Nigeria are failing. With all the braggings still going on, I still see very poor and suffering Igbos and Yorubas in Nigeria, Yoruba and Igbo politicians assisting their nothernern counterparts to loot Nigeria, Yoruba and Igbo thugs, Police force etc terrorizing innocent Nigerian citizens.
Words of wisdom. How did such a trivial issue turn into a tribal war. I'm Ibo and have lived in the West among Yorubas virtually my entire life. Im embarrassed to say the least at seeing this display on NL. If this is what we still belive and teach (by example) our childern, why are we surprised at the state of our nation?

I dont think any tribe has the monopoly on evil traits or the right to point fingers. Some of the best people I've met have been Yoruba and the worst Ibo (my own relatives for that matter). Should I then draw conclusions about millions of people based on the small sample I met. In my line of work, I've met nice oyibos and pretty racist ones, should I then conclude that all oyinbos are nice or racist based on a sample I met in Lagos?

We have bigger problems and this kind of reasoning is not only diversionary, its infantile. What Awo may or may not have doen to Zik has othing to do with our current light problems or why our police men routinely murder innocent citizens in cold blood.

We need to wake up and smell the coffee. Our REAL enemies of progress love nothing more than seeing us bicker pointlessly like children.

vigasimple:
I notice tribal bigots here as usual and it is sad.

The issue is Yar A'clueless alledge to have claimed that Tinubu is dropping his name all over the place.

If that story credited to Yar A'dull is true(and my instinct is that it is not true), the questions the are in two folds

1. Who on Earth want to be pal of Yar A'doubtful ?

2. Assuming someone want to be a pal of Yar A'Do nothing, what will be the benefits to such person unless he is IBORI, Aondaooka and Waziri(would anyone honestly respect any friend/pal of this President unless they are nation looters)

Also, Tinubu has Fashola in Lagos performing execellently, is that not a better and much proud Name to drop? and would it not be what Tinubu will be dropping if he choose to derive any benefit, infact, he need not drop the name, everyone knows already, and for those that do not know, all he would do is to make a direct phone call to Fashola.

Finally, I think the issue is more like Yar A'Failure is looking for relevance, attention seeking and looking for cheap publicity and finding a way to break into South West via Lagos.

Example is the Local govt saga which exposes Yar A'Nonsense as very shallow minded and fighting a wrong cause at the wrong time.

This country need good leadership, infrastructures at this time and Not trying to make the country A ONE PARTY STATE.

PDP want all the power without the corresponding discharge of the Responsibility. ANIMALS calling themselves human beings.

BY THE WAY, COMPARE AND CONTRAST 2 YEASR OF YAR A'CLUELESS WITH FASHOLA. your answer to the question is there.
The only person on this thread who hits the nail on the head as far as im concerned. The report is obviously false and a political ploy contrived to rubbish tinubu and by extension fashola/ac/lasg. Absolute nonsense, Asiwaju namedropping a total failure. That senior clown in Aso Rock and the perfect retards that thought up this ridiculous and completely infantile story should all be completely ashamed of themselves.

Car TalkRe: Jerking When Trying To Accelerate My 1998 Honda Accord by dholla1(m): 2:28pm On Jul 20, 2009
I had the same issue with my 2004 honda accord. After much ado (and money spent) I was advised to get a diagnostic test done on the car. The issue turned out to be the throttle body. Apparently two of the sensors attached to it were malfunctioning. Had it changed a month ago and its been ok ever since.
