Hi Dhollargurl

Have you applied for and received your baby's Nig passport? How did you go about it? How 'seamless' was the process?
I have left Atlanta, did visa-on-arrival and i have applied for the passport in naija. Cos when i called the nigerian consulate in atlanta, nobody was picking, was left with an automated response and they reopened same week i was leaving, didn't know how fast the process would be so i opted for the more reliable option.

Okay, Atlanta consulate has started issuing passports again, but I have two questions, how do I go about the guarantor's form thingy? Also, is the letter of consent from the unavailable parent compulsory? And must it be in black ink too? Or should I just burst it and continue with the visa-on-arrival?

Good day everybody, I'm sorry I can't reply everybody, I have several emails unread cos my hands are full, but let me break it down here:
Piedmont 3500 ( 2 nights vaginal delivery) 5500 for 3 night stay C.S
Epidural 2284 (American Association of Anaesthesiologists)
Ob/GYN fee (Kaiser Permanente medical group) 2400 for normal vaginal + tests and 2800 for C.S.... Mine was lot cheaper because I had a spontaneous normal vaginal delivery, so the cost depends on how fast or slow ur Labour progresses and how (un)complicated the delivery is
However, i heard u can get epidural for as cheap as 450 dolls if u have uncomplicated pregnancy in Emory midtown and 2 night stay .

Congratulations Dgurl,

I still have a little more time before I go to Atl by God's Grace.

I will look that hospital up. How were their charges?

What's going on at the Nigerian Embassy? Is it data page avalability issues?
Someone posted some time either July 4th or 5th to send a mail to oa@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng to apply for your child Nigerian passport was that what you did?
Well if it still doesn't work then it's best to go for visa on arrival as you said.

Rest easy dear.
It will all work out.
Thanks alot, the fee was 3500 for 2 night stay vaginal delivery and 5500 for 3 night C.S delivery...... covers for lab tests for both mother and child

Hello everyone, so I gave birth to my cute little princess upper Wednesday (July 5) , thanks to people that have been sending their wishes. And I'm so sorry that I've not been replying mails, esp naija greatest and naija summary. Will reply asap. So far, B.C and SSN have been gotten, waiting for the notarized form from Naija to apply for her U.S passport. However, naija consulate in Atlanta seems to be having some kinda issue at the moment , which is making application for her naija passport impossible for now, I'm still waiting for them tho but if by first week in August it's d same, will have to do visa-on-arrival. Although, I don't know how that works or how long it takes, hoping someone will enlighten me. Thank you all and by the way, I used Piedmont Atlanta, awesome hospital.
