Had some unforgettable experiences using the 08 Solara and Honda EOD. I repaired the car to the extent my mech said, if you want to fix all the problems on this car, you might end up trekking to the village.

Still on still it gets to a stage in your life when owning a car no longer becomes a luxury but a necessity. Our problem is we buy this car to show off most of the time.

I first met the boy in 2021 he was just 11 years old. I just stumbled on their shop at ikate lekki. Long story short my alternator needed replacement. The elder in the shop told the 11 year old to go replace it. I looked at the man like are you crazy ? You Dey send this small boy to come destroy my car ? The man laughed and said I should not worry. I monitored the boy closely as he did the job. He was good. Anyway fast forward to yesterday I was at spar at lekki ikate and after shopping the car no gree start. So I remembered the guy from back then because the shop wasn’t far and I went there. The boy was slightly bigger than I remembered him but he still looked very young but he had now become an expert. I mean the things he did with a spanner and a few tools I have never seen any mechanic do. It’s like a gifted intuitive ability that can’t be taught. The way he went about testing car components it’s like I can’t even describe it, it was just amazing to watch this young master at work. Anyway so the problem which was quickly diagnosed was a bad starter but I like the way he pulled out the starter and then went about testing the starter out of the car and then somehow hooked up the pulled out starter to the car battery and tried to get me to start the car that way. The guy was just doing some out of this world diagnostic magic tricks that I found amazing. That guy is a genius and he not even old enough to drive. Anyway he hooked my car up and coupled everything back together. Keep in mind he was going back and forth to his shop and then went to jakande to get the starter serviced etc. he was with me for like 4 hours. When I asked how much his labor was he said 10000. I gave him the 10000 without even pricing it. That’s only like 5 pounds. If you did that much work in a shop in uk you will be billed 200 pounds.

Was traveling last week when the car I was driving started leaking engine oil, I couldn't notice earlier because I was playing músic and checked the dashboard 30 minutes earlier, until the car just stopped in the middle of the road. Bought another oil, pour it inside the engine after the engines has cooled down. 15 mins later the engine knocked. I spent 120k to just repair it within 2 days, money that I can't finish in 2 weeks on a norms.

The way you will spend when you own a car ? For example if you have 100k in your pocket just one small thing that goes wrong with your car can wipe out that 100k in a second. For example if ac compressor just packs up to replace it and labor is 100k. And there are many parts in the car so something is always going wrong. Meanwhile if you have no car you can keep that 100k in your pocket and enjoy it slowly . The more expensive the car the more money it steals from you. Am starting to look at cars like money pits now. I don’t care what expensive car I see people driving now cuz all I see is big problems when I look at those cars. Imagine trying to change the head gasket in a Prado ? The labor alone they will charge you like 100k . Ac compressor on a prado ? Maybe 200k. These big moneys will just be dropping out of your pocket regularly . Tufiakwa
