TOPIC: STRANGLED BY PYTHON: WATCH IT

BASIC SCRIPTURES: Proverbs 6: 23-28; Isaiah 28:18

In the state of Indiana in America, a 36 year-old woman kept some snakes in a house. The house was set up to house these reptiles. In that house owned by a County Sheriff, were some 140 snakes. News reported that the Sheriff had bred snakes for sale for several years. Twenty of those snakes belonged to this 36 year-old lady and she formed the habit of visiting them twice every week. Sometime in October 2019, she paid her usual visit to those snakes. The unfortunate and unexpected happened, she was found by the County Sheriff lying down in an unresponsive state with a reticulated python loosely wrapped around her. Medics were called in; they tried to resuscitate her but were unsuccessful. Autopsy carried out on her said the cause of death was asphyxiation due to strangulation by a snake. Reticulated pythons, the type that killed this young woman, are native to South and East Asia. They are known to be among the largest snakes in the world. They can reach lengths of 21 feet and weigh up to 165 pounds. Sometimes people may form the habit of keeping certain things that may be very dangerous to their Iivelihood and existence, like the case of this woman. Such people had better watch it. It is possible there certainly are very dangerous things that as you are using today’s devotional, you are keeping in your life! It can be an object somewhere in your house you are bowing to in the form of worship; it can equally be a relationship or friendship that is detrimental to your wellbeing.

Such is the case depicted in today’s scripture in the book of Proverbs. The scriptures describe vividly what follows a relationship with a strange woman or “strange man.” It is like taking up coals in one’s bosom (Proverbs 6:27-28). Other “PYTHONS” that can STRANGULATE vour destiny include addiction to alcohol, tobacco, hard drugs, pornography, masturbation, unforgiveness, etc. I decree today: Every agreement/covenant with the grave will not hold in your life! That trap set to STOP or TERMINATE your life/destiny is hereby arrested in Jesus name.

TOPIC: WHEN A MONSTER IS NOT A MONSTER! YOU ARE HUMAN

2 CORINTHIANS 4: 5-17: HEBREWS 4: 16

Welcome to today’s devotional hour with He, that is called EMMANUEL.” “EMMANUEL” excites me because God had to come to MAN. He came to Man because MAN IS MAN AND MAN IS HUMAN! He came because Man was messed up! And
that’s the meaning of life: The answer to the wasted years of your life, your struggles, your failures, your pain, the poor choices you made, etc, is SUMMED UP in one word: GRACE.” SOMEONE ASKED: “WHEN IS A MONSTER NOT A MONSTER?” THE ANSWER CAME: “OH, WHEN YOU LOVE IT.” That’s what God did! He took the MONSTER called MAN and loved it. Read “THE AWARD: CONSIDER OTHERS”

so, Grace is the power of love and not just the pardon of a mess! Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God’s grace. And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God’s grace. On this planet, everything is human: In the world where we are together the rivers have hands that pray. The birds have learned how to cry and the wornms have hearts and a central nervous system. Everything is human here. You are HUMAN! God’s treasure is in EARTHEN VESSELS(HUMAN VESSELS-Vs.7of today ‘s 1st Scripture)! That is why you need GRACE! Consider little children: The first step is always deciding to take the first step. The second step is miserable, and they usually trip down the stairs! Then they wait for months before attempting to climb back and start again!

Each fall and each struggle shows that you are human! Instead of condemning yourself, always remember: Everything here is HUMAN! FORGIVE YOURSELF! Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God’s grace! Hold on and keep moving!

TOPIC: THE 2019 FIFA FAIRPLAY AWARD: CONSIDER OTHERS

BASIC SCRIPTURES: PHILIPPIANS 2: 1-11; HEBREWS 10: 23-24

In April 2019, an unusual event happened in the world of football. Leeds United and their 64 year-old very experienced manager, Marcelo Bielsa, were chasing automatic qualification to the English Premier League (EPL). The Leeds United squad faced Aston Villa at Elland Road. Mateusz Klich, a Polish midfielder, put Leeds United in front when he scored the first goal of the match. While Klich scored that goal, Aston Villa forward Jonathan Kodjia was down with an injury. The goal scored by Klich resorted into a free-for-all fight between players from both feams. Before the game resumed, Bielsa ordered his players to allow Aston Villa to equalize! UNBELIEVABLE! ALLOW YOUR “ENEMY TO EQUALIZE? Albert Danquah Adomah was then allowed to run through and level the game. As Adomah tried to score, Pontus Jansson, a defender with Leeds United, tried to stop him because the manager ‘s decision did not go down well with him.

At the end of the day, the game ended 1-1.That result paved the way for Sheffield United, who were Leeds rivals to gain an automatic spot in the EPL. Wow! PUTTING OTHERS FIRST! The action of Marcelo Bielsa and the entire team didn’t go unnoticed. FIFA saw and noted what they did. When it was time to give awards, Leeds United and their manager won the 2019 FIFA Fairplay Award. In giving them that award, the following statement was posted on the FIFA website:” Some residents of planet football consider winning the ultimate, the only purpose or playing the sport. For others though, there are values which need to be held even higher than those which bring victory. What was at stake in the match of APRIL 2019, makes Bielsa’s act of sportsmanship all the more remarkable. BIELSA! What a man! In this year 2020, the Holy Ghost wants you to sometimes put the interest of others FIRST! We live in a selfish world, where consideration for others can sometimes become a rare find.

The average human being is selfish and self-centered. Ths is the reason why today’s scripture urges us thus, Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others” Philippians 2:4). It is Simply saying, consider others also. A wise man said, “Consideration for others is the basis of a good life, a good society. ” A.A. Milne reasoned it this way, “A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference.” It is not every time you think you are right that you claim your right! There are some times that you let certain things go, just the way Leeds United did. It does not make you a lesser person than you are; rather it brings to the fore the higher virtue you carry. By doing that, you are showing that CHARACTER is stronger than CHARISMA! Hebrews 10:24 says that such actions provoke love and good works! Consideration for others is an act of nobility. As you go out today and indeed in 2020, consider someone DAILY. It is a noble act!

TOPIC: THE STOLEN AMBULANCE: HOW MUCH DOES AN EXCUSE WEIGH?

BASIC SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 3: 1-19

Sometime in July 2019, a man from Texas stole an ambulance from a Psychiatric hospital where he was once a patient. The ambulance was taken just after midnight from Cypress Greek Hospital in Houston Texas, a mental health medical facility. The ambulance was said to have been taken so easily by the man because its engine was left running and the man was familiar with the hospital because he had been a patient there before. The man who was described by police to be in his sixties took the ambulance to buy chicken and cigarettes. When staffers noticed that the ambulance was nowhere to be found, they called the police around 2.30am. Oficers using technology, tracked the ambulance to a nearby gas station where they found the man sitting in the vehicle with fried chicken and cigarettes. When the police asked him why he stole the ambulance, he told them that he needed it as a ride to run some errands. Further investigation revealed that he had indeed used the vehicle to run some errands which included a food stop at KFC.

News further reported that despite the reasons he gave, he was taken into custody and was charged for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.. Apart from this case, that same month a woman was arrested in New Mexico because she refused to pay for her order in a drive-in. When the server asked her to pay for her meal, she was said to have told the server that she took the order for God to pay. There is no doubting the fact that life is not a bed of roses. This fact was acknowledged by Job of old when he said, Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble” (Job 14:1). The tough nature of life however is not a licence to give excuses for one’s failure. Benjamin Franklin said, He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else. Agatha ChrIstie
added, “To rush into explanations is always a sign of weakness.” In today’s Bible reading, Adam and Eve each gave reasons for falling short of God’s glory. Adam said, “The woman whom Thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat” (Verse 12).

Eve gave her own excuse, “The serpent beguiled (deceived) me, and I did eat”. Their excuses for eating the fruit weighed little or nothing before God. They were both punished severely for their failure. Nobody wants to listen or accept your excuses for failing to do the needful. Dave Del Dotto quipped, “No one ever excused his way to Success. Edward Murrow equally said, “Difficulty is the excuse history never accepts. Don’t attempt to give excuses for your failure.” The beauty of a woman or the good looks of a man should not be a reason for falling into adultery or fornication. The lure of money cannot be taken as an excuse for embezzlement or corruption. Ushers/church accounting officers that cannot control themselves when they see large offerings are not worthy of being stewards in God’s Vineyard. The man whose story was told in today’s devotion was still charged for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle despite his excuse.
Remember the words of Apostle Paul, “Thou art inexcusable, O man (Romans 2:1). Excuses for not doing what is right weigh very little or nothing before God and the world. In this year 2020, don’t shift blame, don’t give excuses. Take charge of your life. You are a success! You can always pray PRAYERS TO SUSTAIN/PRESERVE YOUR MARRIAGE (PSALM 119: 86)

BASIC SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 37: 24-30.

Welcome to today’s devotional encounter! I am led to paraphrase Vs. 24 and 25 of today’s scripture thus: “And they took him, and cast him into a pit. And they sat down to eat bread.” And Amos 6:6 says: “That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph” Amazing! Note the words: “But they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.” “And they sat down to eat bread.”! This is utter wickedness! The brothers of Joseph were not grieved, showed no remorse for the heartache, pain and agony they inflicted on their brother Joseph. They sat down to eat bread while Joseph was eating his tears in the pit. Oh! That means they threw a party for the downfall of Joseph.

They threw a party because they had concluded that his dreams would not come to pass. Ah! They sat down to eat and drink because they felt they had captured his destiny. Yes, even after they sold him to Egypt they continued their partying. Oh! Hear this: When the enemies of Samson captured him, they threw a party. Yes! When Jesus was captured and sentenced to death, the chief priests, Jewish and Roman leaders sat down to eat and drink. And finally, when He died, satan and demons threw a party in the kingdom of darkness. And since all truths are parallel, this is exactly what goes on in the realm of the spirit, in the hearts of your enemies and sometimes in the physical towards you. Your enemies want to throw a party daily because of you, but they shall fail. The Holy Ghost wants you to know that those partying, Jubilating, eating and drinking over you shall be overtaken today/tonight with the sword of God. Thus saith the LORD, I SHALL TURN THEIR PARTY TO PITY TONIGHT! Oh! They sat down to eat bread! What an insult!

God shall disgrace anybody that is celebrating because of your downfall. They were eating, dancing and rejoicing that they had gotten rid of Joseph: Any man or woman that is having a party because of you, God shall turn their party to sorrow today/tonight. Anybody that is happy at any battle concerning you shall suffer. Those sitting down to celebrate your downfall shall fall. Yes! Their BREAD shall become like STONE! Their food shall become poison. Their water shall become acidic! Their air shall be polluted! The earth they stand upon shall fight them!

May those who have vowed that they will not eat until they see you in the pit of life run mad to their graves tonight! YOUR ENEMIES DO NOT SLEEP, therefore, pray today and rise up like a wounded and angry lion later tonight, 12am- 1am, as you join millions of ODM users worldwide to declare: LORD, TURN THEIR PARTY TO PITY in Jesus name. TOPIC: PRACTICE NON-ATTACHMENT

BASIC SCRIPTURES: ECCLESIATES 1: 1: 11; LUKE 12:15

An astronomer once said to the Pope, “Look at all the billions of galaxies out there, each containing trillions of stars and planets, stretching over light years of distance. Looking through a telescope, you realize that a human is a mere speck in this universe” The Pope reportedly responded, Yes, but you must remember: That mere speck is the one observing and comprehending what is being seen.” Sometimes, the solution is all about changing perspective: THE WAY YOU SEE THINGS! The Pope was seeing things from the perspective of humanity in charge of the universe, while the astronomer saw it as the universe in charge of man!

How this affects you is this: Man was put here to observe the beauty of all creation, but you must NEVER be attached to ANYTHING CREATED! You must PRACTICE AS A LIFESTYLE, THE PRINCIPLE OF NON-ATTACHMENT! Stop getting attached to things or people! This is because NOTHING IS PERMANENT! Sometimes life seems meaningless! Consider this: Every 100 years, there’s a big flush and everybody in the world is gone! And there ‘s a new group of people! And that gets flushed again and there’s a new group of people. And this goes on and on and to a wise man or woman, THIS MEANS THAT LIFE HAS NO PARTICULAR END and it is scary without ETERNITY! So, since there really is nothing that is permanent, you must not become attached to things such that you need them to always be around TO BE HAPPY!

That is also IDOLATRY! Instead, you are better off enjoying them for the meaning they provide to you without setting up any expectation of how permanent they may be or how long they will last. Hold nothing so dear to a point that without them, you cannot experience JOY! Men and women will leave you one day! Your dogs, jobs, careers, friends, parents, spouses, money, houses, etc, will go. See what Jesus said in Luke 12: 15- …beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” You can always pray PRAYERS TO SUSTAIN/PRESERVE YOUR MARRIAGE (PSALM 119: 86)

Your life, your happiness, your fulfilment should not be tied to THINGS or PERSONS! Let it be tied to God and God alone! Further study: See Isaiah 61:7; 55: 11-12.

TOPIC: TREASURES LEFT BEHIND

Basic Scripture: ECCLESIATES 1: 11-18

As Common with other treasures left behind by the Iraqi dictator, toppled in 2003 during the U.S-led invasion and hanged three years later for crimes against humanity, the government that succeeded him has been struggling to find a use for his private luxury ship, (the presidential yacht) called the “BASRAH BREEZE.” Equipped with a presidential suite comprisng the late Saddam Hussein’s private quarters, dining rooms and bedrooms, as well as 17 smaller guest rooms, 18 cabins for crew and a clinic, the opulently equipped and decorated luxury ship, the “BASRAH BREEZE never used by SADDAM, has been serving the Basra University, hosting researchers on trips to study marine life.

Built by a Danish shipyard while Iraq was at war with Iran, the shıp was passed on to Saudi Arabia -then a Saddam ally to protect it from air strikes on Basra. The Saudi Arabian kingdom, which fell out with Saddam after Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990, then handed the SHIP over to Jordan. While the “BASRAH BREEZE survived the turmoil of Saddam’s decline and demise, its sister ship, “AI-MANSUR” (a second luxury presidential ship – which SADAAM also never used), suffered a different fate. It sank in the waterway that passes through Basra after it was hit by U.S. planes and then stripped bare in the chaotic aftermath of his overthrow. Oh! What is life? Two luxury ships NEVER USED and LEFT BEHIND as life’s lessons to others! Indeed, TREASURES LEFT BEHIND will be the story of every human – YOU WILL LEAVE ALL YOUR TREASURES BEHIND!

It is the will of God that you quit trying to make the temporary things of this world the main thing in your life! That is; quit looking for your 1identity, your security, and life’s meaning in the stutf of this world (the Bible calls this idolatry)! Indeed, vanity blossoms but bares no fruit! No wonder the richest man that ever lived in his generation-SOLOMON- declared in Verse 14 of today’s word: “I have seen all the works that are done under the sun: and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.” Please spend more time investing in ETERNITY! You will leave all this sweet and beautiful stuff behind! Your body will grow old and decay!

Beauty will fade! Your friends will die and loneliness will set in! You will take no TREASURE along to your FINAL DESTINATION! Oh, life! Always remenmber SADDAM and thousands like him gone by, described by two words “TREASURES LEFT BEHIND!” Pray now!

TOPIC: FAILURE BREEDS SUCCESS!-2

BASIC SCRIPTURE: 1 KINGS 18: 35-46

Welcome to today’s encounter once again with the Holy Ghost. Yesterday we talked about failure as the womb that caries the pregnancy of success. We shall discuss that again today. Someone wrote this, “It seems that failure tends to be more public than success, or at least that is what we perceive it to be. We fear failure, we try to avoid it, and we question ourselves every time we have unconventional ideas. But the simple truth is, no great success was ever achieved without failure. It may be one epic failure, or a series of failures such as Edison’s 10,000 attempts to create a light bulb, or Dyson’s 5,126 attempts to invent a bag-less vacuum cleaner. But whether we like it or not, failure is a necessary stepping-stone to achieving our dreams.” In 1978, Jones Dyson got an idea for inventing new vacuum cleaning technology. For 5 long years, he made 5,127 prototypes, and finally got a working model. today, Dyson’s cord-free vacuum cleaners are capable of capturing 99.97% of dust as small as 0.3 microns and expel cleaner air.

Many people know Henry Ford because of the Ford Motor Company. However, what they don’t know is that Ford failed two times which resulted in bankruptcies before he became successful. In 1899, at the age of 36, Ford formed his first company, The Detroit Automobile Company, with backing from a lumber baron, William Murphy. That company went bankrupt! He made a 2nd attempt in 1901, when he formmed Henry Ford Company. That also failed and it was re-named, The Cadillac Automobile Company after he gave up his shares in it. His 3rd attempt was what hit the nail on the head. Ford was not a stranger to failure but he didn’t just give up! Thomas Edison made over 10,000 attempts while trying to invent a commercially viable electric bulb, but he didn’t give up. When asked by a newspaper reporter if he felt like a failure after having gone through so many thousands of failed attempts, Edison simply stated, “Why would I feel like a failure? And why would I ever give up? I now know definitely over 9,000 ways an electric light bulb will not work. Success is almost in my grasp.” And at last he succeeded!

In today’s scripture, Elijah attempted to bring back rain upon the earth after some three and a half years of drought. As he continued to pray, it looked like the heavens won’t let the rain come down. Nevertheless, he didn’t give up. He commanded his servant to go back seven times again to look out for the sign of success. It was at the 7m attempt that a little sign of success in the form of “a little cloud out of the sea like a man’s hand was seen. As C.S. Lewis said, “Failures are finger posts on the road to achievement. Failure must not be regarded as absence of success. Its just a road map to success. As you journey through 2020, never give up! Hear EloIse Ristad, an anonymous writer who penned this down, “Failure is not the opposite of success, It’s part of success.” Did you get that? Child of God, no matter how all your past years have been, get up and try again!

You are not a failure or a DELAY-VICTIM, but a miracle that is about to blossom. I hear the sound of your dancing steps because the God of Elijah has your back! Pray now.

TOPIC: FAILURE BREEDS SUCCESS! 1

BASIC SCRIPTURES: JOSHUA 7: 2-7: 8: 1-2, 25-26

Welcome to today’s devotion! I pray that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will open your eyes to deeper secrets in His Word in the Name above all names. Often when we discuss success and successful people, we forget to mention the fact that most stories of success are preceded by seasons of failure. We read about successful people forgetting that they probably have gone through seasons of failure before they eventually became successful. Winston Churchill put it this way, “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” Today, the world celebrates men like Bill Gates, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, and women like Oprah Winfrey without telling us the stories behind their glory. This is the reason why sometimes, part of this devotional is dedicated to telling the story behind the glory of successful men and women. It may interest you to know that before Microsoft was born, Bill Gates, known to be one of the wealthiest men in the world today, initially suffered failure in business.

Bill Gates first business was indeed a failure. He started a business known as Traf-0-Data. It was a partnership between Bill Gates, Paul Gilbert and Paul Allen. Unfortunately, the machine they had built to process the data flopped in the process of presenting it to a traffic employee of Seattle County in America. But as God would have it, this business helped to set Bill Gates and his business partner, Paul Allen, up for major success with Microsoft. Although Bill Gates failed in his first business attempt, this did not discourage him from trying again. Almost the whole world, one way or the other, watches that lady called Oprah Winfrey on television. It may also interest you that Oprah had a rocky start in life. In her early years, not only was her living condition and that of her entire family rough, she also suffered abuse by people that were very close to her. At the age of 14, she became pregnant. The boy she gave birth to as a result of that pregnancy died shortly after birth. Today, she is not married and has no child, but nobody remembers that her first child died! She was hired later by a local television station to read news, but things went wrong for her.

The producer said she was “unfit for television,” so she was fired! Baby died, FIRED from job, yet she refused to quit dreaming! In 1983, Oprah relocated to Chicago to host a low-rated show called, ‘A.M. CHICAGO.” Within a few months, the show went from last in the ratings to the number 1 show at that time. This led to the show being re-named “The Oprah Winfrey Show which has become known worldwide. Wow! The beauty of failure is that it is the womb that carries Success! Joshua, in today’s story had failed in his attempt to conquer the small city called Ai. The men of this small country killed some gallant and very valiant 36 Israeli soldiers. The whole of the Israeli Armed Forces suffered depression, fear and discouragement. Verse 5 of Chapter 7 says,”…wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.” However, Joshua went back to the drawing board and put himself together to fight again!
Eventually Israel prevailed over Ai for “it was, that all that fell that day, both men and women, were twelve thousand, even all the men of Ai (Joshua 8:25). People of great minds say that it is not failure that matters but what you do with failure. Have you failed before or are currently in the pit of failure? Are you facing delays and setbacks’? See them as stepping-stones to greatness. Put yourself together again and get ready for an ELEVATION-a greater height of glory!

TOPIC: CAIRO: THE HERO DOG!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: PROVERB 20: 1-11

The dog that was injured in the raid that killed ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is back with his handler and recovering from his injuries. Last year, President Donald Trump (USA) released a photo of the celebrity dog as he hailed the dog’s actions while describing how the world’s number-one-most-wanted terrorist and ISIS LEADER was killed. This unknown dog chased the ISIS LEADER al-Baghdadi down a dead-end tunnel when the ISIS leader detonated a suicide vest, killing himself and three children. The dog suffered unspecified injuries. This beautiful and talented dog was simply called ‘K-9’ for security reasons. The “K-9s” have a tremendous success rate when it comes to targeting terror chiefs.

I remember that a Belgian Malinois dog breed named CAIRO accompanied the Navy SEALs (special military unit) who killed Osama bin Laden in 2011, and reportedly helped guard the fence perimeter while the SEALs tracked the al Qaeda founder down. Wow! Dogs! As loyal as ever! In fact, TIME MAGAZINE awarded CAIRO its “Animal of the Year” award in 2011 — before his identity was made public. And what the Holy Ghost wants you to know is that sometimes, we must COPY the FAITHFULNESS of DOGS! Do you know that there are more truthful dogs than humans? One Emily Dickinson said: ” Dogs are better than human beings because they know but do not tell.” Hear from Martin Luther: “Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved.”

Yes, dogs are more faithful than millions of souls AND DOGS CAN FOLLOW YOU TO YOUR BATTLEFIELD! How many people can still be your friends in ADVERSITY/DANGER? That’s why I once had about 15 dogs! Oh! See how David cried in Psalm 12:1 “Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.” He was saying that FAITHFULNESS and LOYALTY ARE disappearing from the earth! Then Proverbs 20:6 asked: “Most men will proclaim everyone his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?” A FAITHFUL MAN OR WOMAN who can find? In this year 2020, always know that your only TRUST is GOD and your “DOG.” Men or women can betray you at any time!

Men will leak your secret! Men will envy you! Men will try to PULL YOU DOWN and abandon you at any time! Men will be men! God will be God: EVER FAITHFUL! No wonder Mother Teresa said: “Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.” Close with Joyce Meyer: “Faithfulness is not doing something right once but doing something right over and over and over and over.” Let God and man know you to be a man or woman of your words! TOPIC: LAGOS, SWEET LAGOS -DEMONIC TRAFFIC JAMS MUST END

Basic Scripture: GENESIS 18: 3-15

LAGOS – Africa’s largest city, home of financial and business giants, a land of huge opportunities. Lagos has a fast-growing population of about 22million (a recent government estimate) yet it’s Nigeria’s smallest State which sits on a land mass of about 3,577.28sq. km. Of this, 779.56sq km is water. About 6000 people enter the city daily, armed with only one thing – HOPE and a deep thirst for the Lagos Dream. There are over 5 million cars and 200,000 commercial vehicles on the roads every day, the national average is 11 vehicles per kilometer (in other states) but Lagos is 227 vehicles per kilometer daily. A US News report (February 12, 2019) titled, “Cities with the world’s worst traffic congestion,” stated that Russian (Moscow) commuters lose nearly nine days a year sitting in city traffic.

Drivers spend an average of 210 hours in peak rush hour periods yearly. Moscow snatched the trophy for the most traffic congested city in the world last year. London came in at number 6, beaten by Istanbul, Bogota, Mexico City and Sao Paulo. Boston occupied the eighth place and Rome placed 10th. New York, Chicago, Rio de Janeiro and the traffic of some other cities is as terrible sometimes as that of my former National Capital city – Lagos. Now as the world is discussing TRAFFIC CONGESTION issues in order to improve productivity and increase their national GDP, the Holy GHOST wants you to know that the highest battles are situated in the SPIRITUAL TRAFFIC JAM of your life! There are powers that do not want you to move into your destiny in God’s time! They will HINDER or SLOW you down in order to push you into accusing God of wickedness!

Note that SPIRITUAL TRAFFIC JAMS are worse than PHYSICAL TRAFFIC JAMS! The LORD wants you to arise and determine that ALL that has been released to you for 2020 MUST get to your hands in His: TIME! Genesis 18:10 says: “And He said, ‘I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son….” NOTE: “according to the time of life.” God has a DIVINE CALENDAR called, “THE TIME OF LIFE” for every battle! All satan does is to attack THAT TIME OF LIFE! Many times, he would slow you down like he did to DANIEL or he can ACCELERATE (PUSH) you to use SHORTCUTS to avoid traffic jams as they did to Abraham!

The result of ABRAHAM’S EFFORT to avoid that “TIME OF LIFE” CALENDAR was ISHMAEL! Arise now in serious prayers and scatter every demonic traffic jam and any arrow to push you into SHORTCUTS to your Promised LAND.

TOPIC: THE ADVENTUROUS AVIATOR: SWITCH TO A HIGHER ALTITUDE!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 6: 25-34

Remember yesterday’s write-up of the aviator who decided to go on an adventure by flying to different locations of his country. Remember how he killed the rat by flying to a higher altitude! In the same way, sometimes, when worried about the issues of life, CHANGE GEAR TO A HIGHER ALTITUDE! Switch to meditation on God’s Word! When you switch to GOD’S WORD in quietness, you are immediately transported into a HIGHER ALTITUDE because God’s Word is SPIRIT and LIFE! It is celestial, while most things that affect your peace are terrestrial! In this year 2020, deal with anxiety, worry and fear of tomorrow!

Psychologists say that most of the things we worry about are not real and for this reason, they never come to pass! This fact was enumerated succinctly by Winston Churchill when he relived his experience about worries: “When I look back on all these worries, I remember the story of the old man who said on his deathbed that he had had a lot of trouble in his life, most of which had never.happened.” Even when our worries are real and we are deeply enmeshed in them, God gives us the assurance that we will overcome them. Hear Him: “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee” (Isaiah 43:2).

God is saying to you today not to worry about that situation you are going through. He has made provision ahead of the crisis. You must treat every challenge giving you fear, anxiety and worry like the rat of yesterday’s devotional! Soar high on the wings of faith and you will see that challenge die like the rat. I see you rejoicing this year as you FEED your FAITH and STARVE your DOUBTS to death.

TOPIC: THE ADVENTUROUS AVIATOR: WORRY IS LIKE A RAT

BASIC SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 6: 25-34

The story is told of an aviator who decided to go on an adventure by flying to different locations of his country. Every destination he flew to, he looked for an airfield where he landed to fuel the aircraft every 4 hours. Two hours after he took off from a particular location he had stopped to fuel, he heard a sound somewhere in the plane. He noticed that it was a rat in the plane that was causing the noise. He suddenly became worried about the critical wire in the plane that the rat could bite with its sharp teeth and cut off. It could be a wire that might hold the secret of the plane staying up there and the plane could come crashing down. As he thought about this, fear and worry set in from all sides. Who wouldn’t be worried under such a circumstance? As God would have it, he suddenly remembered that a rat is a rodent that should stay on the ground in dark holes where it would be in search of food.

He remembered that a rat would not be able to withstand the high altitudes of flying. Upon this realization, he nosed his plane up and began to soar higher and higher, going to higher feet above sea level. When he had reached a particular height, he noticed the noise had disappeared. He then decided to look for the nearest airfield to land. When he landed, a dead rat fell from the cockpit. The truth is this man knew something about the rat, applied that knowledge and defeated it. In the same vein, when you understand fear and worry, you defeat them. Worry and fear take away from man both peace and joy that God has Hesigned for us to enjoy. The Bible clearly declares to us that, “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).

There is no doubt that life is full of challenges. However, worry leads us into fear thereby pushing one into a deeper crisis of both mind and the body. Leo Buscaglia said, “Worry only saps today of its joy.” It magnifies our challenges, making them bigger than what they really are. A Swedish proverb says, “Worry often gives a small thing a bigger shadow.” George Bernard Shaw said, “People become attached to their burdens sometimes more than the burdens are attached to them.” Did you get that? Release that battle to God and LET IT GO! Your worrying cannot bring a solution but it may bring a sickness (hypertension)!

I have wondered why terrible storms are named after men and women! The National Weather Service was mimicking the habit of naval meteorologists, who named the storms after women, much as ships at sea were traditionally named for women. In 1978–1979, the system was revised again to include both female and male hurricane names. THAT MEANS STORMS ARE NAMED AFTER PEOPLE! Wow! We have past, terrible storms named KATRINA, BARRY, GAJA, FANI, DENNIS, ODISHA, IRMA, etc. The International National Hurricane Center has released names of 2020 stormsas Arthur, Bertha, Cristobal, Dolly, Edouard, Fay, Gonzalo, Hanna, Isaias, Josephine, Kyle, Laura, Marco, Nana, Omar, Paulette, Rene, Sally, Teddy, Vicky and Wilfred.

Ah! I can even see Josephine, Laura, Vicky, Isaiah, Nana, etc, there! Watch out for these names this year! But what the Holy Ghost wants you to know is that INDEED, MOST OF THE STORMS YOU WILL ENCOUNTER WILL COME FROM PEOPLE! No wonder William Blake opined: “It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend.” Joseph’s brothers were the cause of his storms! King Saul pursued David all through most of his youthful days! Men killed Jesus! Judas betrayed Him! Abraham was scorned by LOT! Moses was ENVIED by Miriam. The friends of Daniel were the reason for his storms. Indeed, a man’s enemies are not plants or animals! A man’s enemies are members of his own house! Watch and pray this year! Trust nobody! I remember Caitlyn Siehl: “Do not fall in love with people like me.

I will take you to museums, and parks, and monuments, and kiss you in every beautiful place, so that you can never go back to them without tasting me like blood in your mouth. I will destroy you in the most beautiful way possible. And when I leave, you will finally understand why storms are named after people.” Did you get that? Storms are named after people! People are desperately wicked! The heart of man is bloody! Those you trust will betray you! I have never ceased to imagine in my quiet moments why God used a RAVEN to feed Elijah! Remember that RAVENS are very selfish birds! The RAVEN in Noah’s Ark NEVER returned to the ARK, unlike the DOVE! Strange! But such are the ways of your MAKER and God! Then consider Elijah and the widow of Zarephath in 1 Kings 17. God used a POOR WIDOW to feed Elijah during a national economic recession! I would think Jehovah would have used a RICH WIDOW! But no! The ways of your God are sometimes PAST FINDING OUT!

Romans 11:33 says: “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!” Yes! Job 9:10 confirms this: “Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.” Wonders without number means “WONDERS THAT CANNOT BE COUNTED.” Wow! In this year 2020, refuse to put God in a BOX! He can use UNEXPECTED WAYS TO REACH YOU! God will send DESTINY HELPERS and INFLUENCERS to you this year but you must be VIGILANT not to miss them! They may come JETHRO-MOSES relationship! That means they could be people know so well that FAMILIARITY can lead to CONTEMPT which can BLOCK your ELEVATION through them! The anointing you do not respect or you are too familiar with, may not help you! They could show up as “HOUSEHELPS” — A simple and common MAID –used to help a WAR GENERAL-Naaman (In 2 Kings 5:3).

Why did God not use the great doctors or religious psychologists of that generation as “Special Advisers” to that “7-STAR” GENERAL? Yes! God can use drivers, cleaners, etc. to ELEVATE you! Or your destiny helper can show up as a “MORDECAI” who connected an orphan Esther to INFLUENCERS AT THE KING’S PALACE! Yes! In 2020, God will cause your name to be mentioned in the corridors of POWER before GREAT men and women of INFLUENCE! Oh! I see it happening! Ah! The ways of God – A God of wonders without number! Yes! A God of ELEVATION whose ways (wisdom, knowledge and judgments) are unsearchable! May you not miss your DESTINY HELPERS this year! TOPIC: Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer!

BASIC SCRIPTURES: PSALM 25: 4-10; PSALM 32: 8

William Williams (1717-1791) is considered by many to be the father of Welsh hymns. In 1738, Williams heard a sermon by the revivalist preacher Howell Harris, a fiery Welsh layman who had been influenced by the Methodist movement in England. It was through this sermon that Williams discerned his calling to go into ministry. Soon he came to discover that his heart was with Harris and his traveling ministry. The revivalists realized that the Welsh language was lacking in hymns. Williams would go on to write many hymns in both Welsh and English. “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah” appeared in Welsh in 1745. It was fitting that Williams should be the author of a hymn about the Christian’s pilgrimage on earth since as a traveling Methodist preacher, he was a pilgrim in both the spiritual and physical sense.

Williams’ ministry shook WALES. He traveled for forty- three years and made an average of 2,230 miles a year, at a time when there were no railways and a few stagecoaches. In this way, the greater part of Williams life was spent, not in a preacher’s library, but in the greatest world of outdoors. No wonder the world got one of the greatest hymns from this man:
“Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer”
Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but Thou art mighty;
Hold me with Thy powerful hand:
Bread of heaven, Feed me till I want no more.” Always remember that you are a PILGRIM through this BARREN EARTH! No matter your wealth, treasures or education, this earth compared to heaven is BARREN!

That is why you must live as a PILGRIM (A pilgrim is a traveler who is on a journey to a holy place). So, Williams as a traveler compared the physical to the spiritual and knew that without being GUIDED, through this world of difficult battles, hard and delicate decisions daily, trials without notice, betrayals by wicked serpents and scorpions (unfriendly friends and household wickedness), he could make irreversible mistakes that could keep him from his FINAL DESTINATION – heaven. In this year 2020, let that be your daily cry: “GUIDE ME O THOU GREAT REDEEMER!” Your REDEEMER knows the way you don’t know! He knows the way through the mountains, woodlands or wilderness! He knows where danger hides and He knows where green pastures are planted! Yes! He knows the hidden traps and evil nets! Oh! No Matter the pressure or “URGENCY,” do nothing this year without hearing a word from God! Pray/seriously now and cancel the HASTE that will lead you to WASTE or the MISTAKES that will lead you to MISERY!

TOPIC: STRESS STARTS FROM WITHIN!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: PHILIPPIANS 4: 1 – 9

Today’s scripture, Vs. 8(KJV) says: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” The NCV puts it this way: “Think about the things that are good and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and honourable and right and pure and beautiful and respected.” This is a year the Holy GHOST wants you to DEAL with stress! It was Rev. Rick Warren who said “The battle with stress in your life begins between your ears.” I would add: It begins FROM your thinking factory (YOUR INNER UNSEEN BEING – your mind) and THAT MEANS STRESS BEGINS FROM YOUR THOUGHTS! It’s in your thought life! What you fill your mind with determines the level of stress in your life.

The Bible says to think about the things that are good and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and honourable and right and pure and beautiful and respected.” To lower your stress, change what you think about! In this verse, the Bible gives us eight tests if we should allow something in thinking factory – OUR MINDS. Ask yourself, “Is it good? Is it worth honourable? Is it right? Is it pure? Is it beautiful? Is it respected? When you think about things that are good, worthy of praise, true honourable, right, pure, beautiful, and respected, you’re really picturing God. Then Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You. All whose thoughts are fixed on You.” (NLT). No matter how SCARY that issue is no, no matter how BLEAK it looks, no matter how UNSURE or ANXIOUS it makes you feel, JUST PUT IT IN HIS HANDS AND FIX YOUR THOUGHTS ON HIM. That is the fastest cure for STRESS: PUT THE MATTER IN HIS HANDS AND FIX YOUR THOUGHTS ON HIM.

- THE “3 Hs” OF YOUR PAST!
The result is PERFECT PEACE! This is because at that level, you know that the outcome will be ONLY HIS WILL! Why WORRY over what you cannot change? If God cannot change it, worry cannot change it! If you have done your best, in prayers and work, then LEAVE it in His hands and stop the stress, WORRY or anxiety! Sometimes, say to yourself: “STOP THE ANXIETY! WHAT WILL BE, WILL BE,” ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE DONE ALL YOU KNOW TO DO! Ah! Worry less! Smile more! Listen carefully! Take responsibility! Accept what you can’t change! Embrace the lesson! Love your life! What you think about determines how stressed and worried you will be. If you fix your thoughts on God, He will keep you in perfect peace even when the world is in perfect chaos! Hold on! Hold out!

We all have strengths and weaknesses! You are not perfect and you cannot do everything at all times. But you can be good at something and be known all over the world for that one thing! Joseph was known for his dreams! Oh! The Holy Ghost emphasis to a user of today’s devotional is: FOCUS ON YOUR STRENGTH and then FOCUS ON YOUR FOCUS! For instance, some people are good as thinkers than as doers. But they are spending their time doing instead of thinking. There are people who are gifted analysts. They are good in analysis! They can think for companies, organizations, political parties, etc, but they are not doing so! Indeed, many people are not in their places of strength. They are not in the business, job, career, etc, of their strength!

That is why they struggle every year! Let 2020 be different! When you focus on your strength, the world will focus on you! In this year 2020, stop trying to do everything. Stop trying to be like everybody and stop trying to please everybody! Focus on your strengths and not your weaknesses! A wise man said: “While multitasking may seem like a great way to get a lot done quickly, it turns out that people are actually rather bad at it. Juggling multiple tasks at once can dramatically cut down on productivity and makes it more harder to hone-in on the details that are truly important.” The overwhelming majority of people who have reached success will tell you that sticking to one thing and doing it until you reach your goal is the only sure way to achieve success. Multi-tasking gives the illusion of competence and productivity but it is actually a detriment to your productivity. I remember a Russian proverb: “If you chase two rabbits, you will catch neither one.” Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least! Paul said in Vs 13 of today’s word: “THIS ONE THING I DO…”
Peter Drucker wrote: “Efficiency is doing the thing right. Effectiveness is doing the right thing.” Unless you resist distractions and get focused, you cannot be EFFICIENT! When I write, I focus like ants are focused when they are after a sugar cube! I cut off friends and delete my social life! Yes! Success demands a singleness of purpose. People think SUCCESS means saying YES to the things that come your way! But they are dead wrong! It means saying NO to hundreds of other good ideas that may be seem very good at that time! In 2020, Satan wants to DISTRACT AND WASTE YOU! He knows that God created you to fulfil certain assignments on earth! And He knows that one of the greatest secrets is, FOCUSING ON YOUR STRENGTH! So, he will keep you busy off track till you forget that Success is built sequentially.

It’s one thing at a time. Always ask “WHO AM I?” Your promotion and elevation lies in discovering that answer! So, they knew Joseph as a dreamer. It was his dreams that put him into trouble. What does your world know you for or to be? Go and discover it! Pray with the Mantles today!

Welcome! It was Phillip Sweet who wrote: “Stay true to yourself, yet always be open to learn. Work hard, and never give up on your dreams, even when nobody else believes they can come true but you. These are not cliches but real tools you need no matter what you do in life to stay focused on your path.” Today’s 1st scripture Vs 19 says, “And they said one to another, ‘Behold, this dreamer cometh.” Wow! Amazing! Note the words: “THIS DREAMER COMETH”! They didn’t say ‘Behold our younger brother cometh.’ He was biologically their younger brother but they forgot that BLOOD was not equal to GRACE! They forgot the difference between AGE-MATES and GRACE-MATES! So, they knew JOSEPH as “THE DREAMER!”

May people know you for something this year! What Joseph’s brothers were after was not the person of Joseph, but his dream! The TARGET IS ALWAYS YOUR GIFT; YOUR STAR! So, they wanted to take his life so that the dream would not come to pass another thing the Holy Ghost wants you to know is that there is ONE THING Joseph was known for. Joseph was known for his Dreams! The lesson here is that in this year 2020, discover what you are good at and major in it. Yes! LET PEOPLE KNOW YOU FOR SOMETHING THIS YEAR. Be a solution to a problem around you and develop a skill, talent or ability through which God will elevate you this year. Be known as an artist, a cook, a good driver, an organizer, event planner, a singer, etc. Oh! I know of a man who is now a success story and has travelled around the world because of only one key of the Keyboard, KEY C! HE FOCUSED ON HIS STRENGTH! Oh! He is a “Wizard” on key C.
He has so mastered the C key that he can play anything playable as far as music is concerned because he focused on his strength. There are twelve keys of the keyboard, to know only one key is already a great setback and weakness. But because he focused on his strength, today he is a celebrity on key C. ALWAYS REMEMBER, YOUR FOCUS DETERMINES YOUR REALITY and the world will not focus on you until you make your FOCUS your FOCUS! Today’s 1st scripture, Vs 16, says: “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.” It is your GIFT and not necessarily your EDUCATION that singles you out of the crowd! I read Pharmacy, but today, I am by His GRACE, a prophet, a pastor and a prophetic writer! How this booklet in your hands got to over 190 countries is still a mystery to me! But I discovered my gift after a near-death experience! Oh! I still love Pharmacy which I rigorously studied at the great University of Ife, Nigeria! I love the art of making medicines for the sick, but due to divine instructions, I left Pharmacy over 30 years ago.
Most of the past American presidents in yesterday’s devotional had problems and they dropped out of school for one reason or the other, yet they became the presidents of the USA. Education is wonderful! Knowledge is awesome! But it is your gift that will make way for you in this year 2020. Make sure you DISCOVER it! Don’t waste your life, following your EDUCATION for the sake of daily bread! Use today and tomorrow’s devotional to deal with GIFT MANIPULATORS because there are powers that attack powers, that attack your gift from the day you were born! Do you know that million have been pushed to their education and not their gifts a quest for daily bread? They forget that it is your GIFT that MAKES ROOM and ELEVATES YOU!
Worse still, most people read courses even in school! Some people read what their parents wanted them to read! Thousands have lived and died without fulfiling what they were created to fulfil, because IT WAS NEVER DISCOVERED! THE CEMETERIES are the richest part of any country! It’s full of unwritten books, songs that were never sung, preachers that never preached one sermon, politicians that never ruled, doctors that never entered a hospital, businessmen and women that never discovered their trades, etc. Arise today and decree: OH, GIFT OF MY DESTINY; ARISE AND SHINE! YOU SHALL NOT BE WASTED OR MANIPULATED in Jesus name.

TOPIC: THEY NEVER WENT TO SCHOOL – 1


BASIC SCRIPTURES: GENESIS 50: 15-26; PROVERBS 18:16

In the USA, more than 66% of high school graduates between the ages of 16 and 24 are currently enrolled in college, up from just 9% in 1950 between the ages of 20 and 24. In fact, several American presidents never went to college, opting instead to pursue work, politics, or the military. Yes! These most powerful men in their generation, never went to college! George Washington never had a college degree, though some sources say he enrolled for a time at the College of William and Mary where he got a surveyor’s license. John Adams however attended Harvard college. He started the legacy of Harvard graduates becoming presidents. Thomas Jefferson attended the College of William and Mary and went to study Law with his legal mentor George Wythe. James Madison delayed going to school due to poor health. When he did eventually attend in 1769, he enrolled at what was then the College of New Jersey – now Princeton. He graduated in 1771 but stayed another year to study Hebrew and Political Philosophy.

James Monroe did not graduate from College! He left school to fight in the American Revolution. Andrew Jackson never attended college! As a young man growing up in the Carolinas at the end of the 18th century. Andrew Jackson’s early education was inconsistent. As an older teenager, he decided to read Law and became a lawyer in Tennessee after two years. Martin Van Buren never attended college instead, he worked as a law clerk eventually learning enough to become a lawyer in 1803. Zachary Taylor never attended college! He knew from a young age that he wanted to join the military. Instead of attending college, he joined the army. Millard Fillmore never attended college! Abraham Lincoln never attended college! He had virtually no formal education. He practiced as a lawyer, but like most lawyers of that time, did not go to law school – a Law degree was not necessary for the work.

Andrew Johnson started a tailoring business. He married and began his political career two years later. Theodore Roosevelt did not graduate from school (Columbia Law School). He enrolled in law school but dropped out after only one year to enter politics. The list goes on and on What the Holy Ghost wants you to know is that YOU MUST ARISE AGAINST ALL ODDS AND AGAINST DESTINY MANIPULATORS! Determine that in 2020, no power, delay, EXCUSE or battle can derail your PURPOSE! Like Joseph, may you fulfil all your dreams!
