For transportation, we definitely need a good HSR network. We may not have the money, but it should be there as a priority.

snydergp: Yes ur correct on that front, but military aid comes in different forms AID can also mean military training programs.

The US Aid to Egypt was strategic plot to keep a strong strategic ARAB State as a US Puppet so that there's no Arab Ideas and complots to cross into the Gaza strip into Israel.
No US aid to Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and south Africa is to maintain a strong "white" base, from which they can strike, when needed.

Shedysworld: Gr8 ideas, gud development on textile.being a textile personal,i realise that this 'll go a long way to bring back the glory of d textile sector. One other thing that 'll be lovely to add to this lovely ideas of our ministers is 4 the federal government to look into the demands of the bank of industries from indigenious technologist as concerning loan conditions with special reference to collateral which is too high and difficult to meet.
I totally agree. Our banks are very greedy and their demands are highly unfavorable to business in this country. Government should liaise with banks and figure out a way to act as co-surtees. We have to help our banks to start lending to medium to small local businesses.
PoliticsRe: 776,000 Jobs Lost In Textile Industry –FG by Dibiachukwu: 7:30am On Feb 15, 2013
grandstar: The so called job losses in the textile mills are not so bad when you realize why.

The power sector is one of the problems. The second may be the poor state of roads. A third may be cotton.

The biggest problem really is China. The ultra competitive Chinese not only brought the textile sector here to its knees but also adversely affected those in other countries.

We do not have any comparative advantage in producing textiles.

It will therefore be wise if we fully open the borders and slash import duties to as low as 5%.

We may have lost jobs in the textile industry but many tailors are not complaining. It is estimated that up to 1million jobs depend on imported textiles.

The cement stats to me are also wrong. Imported cement which is much cheaper would have created far more jobs on the ground than producing it expensively locally. High cost of bricks has slowed down construction.
So you want us to mortgage our future to the chinese. Law of comparative advantage is a scam. I thought we should have learnt that by now. That law would only be applicable if the world was homogeneous. It is not. Close the border. Provide loan schemes for prospective enterpreneurs. Aba may soon have 24 hours electricity. Encourage them with loans. KELE CHUKWU
PoliticsRe: You're Buying 'BLOOD OIL' President Jonathan Tells British PM by Dibiachukwu: 7:19am On Feb 15, 2013
macdanpets: President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday met with David Cameron, British Prime Minister and pleaded his country’s assistance to stem the big oil theft in Nigeria’s Niger Delta.

Jonathan reportedly told Cameron, who now chairs G8 that stolen oil from the Nigeria is shipped abroad where it is refined and sold in the international market.

He described the crime as “blood oil”.

Oil theft, known in Nigeria as illegal bunkering accounts for more than 10 per cent of Nigeria’s daily oil production of 2.2 million barrels.

The president who called for sanctions for all those involved in the illegal trade, said that the G8 has a role to play in putting an end to the crime, challenging the group of industrialised nations to take a stand similar to the one taken on money laundering by public office holders

Jonathan also called on the G-8 to look into the issue of proliferation of small arms and light weapons in Africa, and long term peace keeping support for Mali, a theme that he took across the Channels to Paris, where he later held talks with President Francois Hollande.

According to him, there is need to sustain stability in Mali after the military intervention, otherwise, the rebels may adopt a guerrillas approach of killings and suicide bombings, thus continuing their terrorist activities by other means.http://primegossips.com/?p=3529

While noting the cordial relations between Nigeria and the UK, the President expressed commitment to promoting trade and investment between both countries.
http://primegossips.com/?p=3529
“We have a robust relationship in terms of trade, because trade between African nations are more difficult than trade with other countries. Without robust trading the economy cannot develop because whatever you do either primary production or industrial, you need trade facilitation,” Jonathan said.

Responding, Cameron, said both nations had a close relationship based on successful trade and investment which would double in the coming years.

Cameron also said that the two countries would continue to build on their strong diplomatic and political relations as well as aid and development partnership.

Pataki: Eeediots! You are busy celebrating Super Eagles won a useless cup. The super star players amongst them are back earning their foreign exchange, only for NIN to kidnap their relatives and start asking for ransome money. Yet some demented beings wants us to think Nigeria is a paradise on earth.

Your future policemen are living far worse than a goat who is resident in Europe. A demented being is here telling us lies. I have just recently seen things with my eyes in Nigeria, and there is nothing to write home about. A country bastardized by corruption, ineptitude, failure, cluelessness and animal lifestyle! Who lives in a state of no-electricity for weeks and expects to be normal? Your glorified mansions are nothing but prison cages! Your glorified cars are nothing but dumps in developed world. What amazes me .more is when you lot take loans to buy used cars and start driving it round the streets and everyone starts greeting you with a 'sir' or 'ma'.

There is no new Nigeria, until there are new creatures!
And NIN pay millions for DSTV subscription to keep them there. You people really don't know how the international business/scams work. Believe me, in this whole football crap, the west wins big time.
Me thinks on a serious note alot of nations dislike Nigerians and have little respect for us.This is obvious when you say Nigerian or display a green passport internationally. The screw ups some foolish Nigerians do outside the nation has destroyed everything called good name for us.Why do you think Dora Akunyili was working particularly on re-branding the nation?
The Nigerians that go outside the nation often get desperate and decide to do things that hardly helps. Also we sit in Nigeria and damn ourselves to stupor!!! Anything that happens we want to act is us against them and naked ourselves until the world hear us and mark us for that.Once you leave the land of Nigeria,That's when you will know you bear no name than Nigerian. So if you like abuse other members of the nation all you like.you will still share in there negative publicity. It still will be called Nigeria. We talk evil against ourselves often and publicly in our local media. We also act wrongly in our deals often when outside the country because of being rich any how even at the expense of the nations name and profile.
List our known negative images and you will be amazed is largely self inflicted.from scamming, fraud, violent crisis, smuggling, drugs, human trafficking, laundering, treats of chaos, robbery, disobedience to laws or rules we find ourselves govern by.The problem is not about Government alone its our attitude.People don't trust us resulting in why they don't like us,simple!Always resulting from information, impressions or experience gotten from Nigerians. undecided undecided undecided

We are only good to the world as for contributing our men to peace keeping, making cheap wealth from the nations resources by fraudulent expatriates/foreigners of certain nationals, using our votes internationally and probably population influence. That we are respected or loved because they love our dealings, skills, attitude, environment generally etc i doubt!!!!.We are even introduced as the most populous nation full stop. Not democratic not industrious, not naturally endowed, nothing just population?Google Nigeria and see results.Negative news everywhere.Na only us get problem?
So in other words, we should bow down and beg them for forgiveness. You can do what ever you want, but I will meet hostility with brutal hostility. That is what I think we lack. Deadly force.

PoliticsRe: Ihejirika Blast Critics: Denies Lopsidedness In Promotions, Postings,Retirements by Dibiachukwu: 7:44am On Feb 14, 2013
kingoflag: Well, no insults, but I wouldn't consider you "a rational person" as you self-proclaimed above. Your posts are usually tinged with "ethnic superiority" over others and are largely sentimental as opposed to logical. Again, like I said, this is not to denigrate you,
but to state the facts as I see them.

You claim you never approach issues sentimentally, but that in this instance you would. Well, my brother, that's your prerogative. I, personally, believe in approaching ALL issues LOGICALLY. At the risk of sounding sexist, only women are allowed to approach issues based on sentiments. So, except you have a 4-5 day period every month where you bleed, cramp
and are all types of illogical for no other reason but for what nature bestowed on you, there's absolutely NO excuse, why you should approach decisions just based on sentiments.

Do you really believe that an Igbo man should be made president just because of where he's from and what language he speaks? Do you really believe that a party which Igbos are already distancing themselves for should field an Igbo man as it's Presidential nominee? Do you really believe PDP will field an Igbo man as it's Presidential candidate? If everyone said today "okay, let's field an Igbo man", tell us one QUALIFIED Igbo man whom you think would be acceptable to all.

Nigeria should realize that 2015 is probably the last time she'll have an opportunity to get it right before everything implodes before everyone's eyes. "The right person over ethnicity, religion,
or language" should be the motto when deciding who will lead Nigeria out of the doldrums, not these backwards reasons which a lot of you seem insistent upon.
Yes Igbos are Nigerians, but Igbos are a nation too. For many nations to form another nation, there has to be an agreement. We are saying that the agreement is false because we were forced into it by war. We can all deceive ourselves forever. Do you really believe that there would ever be a time Nigeria can be one. It was not designed to be one. It would only be one if we make another agreement. SNC(SOVEREIGN NATIONAL CONFERENCE)

You are one of those that believe all the rubbish propaganda in your media. Let me bring you back to reality, there is no country in this world that doesn't have the expertise to build both nuclear weapons and intercontinental missiles. That is why your USA is all around the world, sniffing everybody's butts. If any people are made to fight another war of survival again, the world would see nukes flying all over the place. You don't know how vulnerable we all are.

They where never hiding. And just look at Africa and you can see how divided we are.

Really you think you just throw money and you get the nuke and ICBM. To date only one countrie has had the bombe and that is SA and we still have the plant where we reshered the bomb and enriched the urniam. So no Nigeria can't just get the bomb. And you don't even build one missiel in you country yet ypu want to build a ICBM. No african country has them. SA stoped its ICBM project after angola was no longer a threat. The northen countries have have SLBMs. Nigeria has nothing close to a stand off wepaone.
SA was stopped from having nukes immediately the Africans took over government. Nukes are dead easy to make. Lol. You are saying that no Nigerian, or group of Nigerians can build even a missle. Hahahahahah. What a f&&l. Anyway KELE CHUKWU

InvertedHammer: Misconception!

What you don't realize is that NID are the ones developing Nigeria. Those houses you see in most cities and
believe that NIN don hammer actually were built by NID. If you check Western Union and Moneygram data, you
will be amazed at what percentage equivalent of Nigeria GDP that NID contribute to Nigeria every year.

If Nigeria is this bad with all the financial support coming from NID, I wonder what it would be if such
support is withdrawn.

Believe it or not, the little peace you enjoy in Nigeria today is being subsidized by NID.

I will take my State for an example...if you drive through Awka, most hotels, hostels, new houses
are owned by NID or politicians (in rare cases).

What utter rubbish. We should ban illiterate Nigerians from living the country. They cause us a lot of harm. This are people that would quickly become criminals or spy agents for foreign, hostile countries.

This nairalnad is now producing and exposing many half baked human beings in Nigeria.

What was wrong with the comment? David Mark is right that Nigeria as a country has no friends mostly in Africa, if you have traveled to even some ECOWAS countries you will know that truly Nigeria has no friends in Africa.

As the fellow commented the government and the politicians contribute a lot to the hatred by their wickedness and incompetency in the administration of the country. When you loot and misuse the peoples' wealth you will make them wanderers and desperate for survival, these will lead to people taking up both good, bad and ugly options for survival.
You think a comment like "80% of Nigerians are starving" is a responsible thing to say?
