Chelsea is likely to fire manager Jose Mourinho if he fails to get the maximum point against Liverpool on Saturday.
Despite passing a vote of confidence from Blues owner Roman Abramovich, Mourinho could be relief of his job if Chelsea loses against Liverpool. There have been concerns over Chelsea’s continued struggles on the pitch—and the manager’s conduct off it—could see the club take drastic action if the Blues sink to its sixth Premier League defeat of the season against the Reds.
Further, Mourinho’s position is currently “under review” with former Blues bosses Guus Hiddink and Carlo Ancelotti potential candidates for his replacement—the latter in particular is described as “interested.”

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday invited and grilled the Abuja-based lawyer, Mr. Leo Ekpeyong, who wrote a petition to the commission against the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Investigations revealed that the operatives of the Economic Governance Unit of the commission invited Ekpeyong to report at the commission to shed more light on the allegations he raised against Akpabio in the petition.
Ekpeyong had accused Akpabio of massive diversion of funds of the Akwa Ibom State Government when he was Governor of the state in the petition.
Based on the allegations contained in the petition, the EFCC invited and grilled the former Governor, now Senate’s Minority Leader, on October 16, 2015.
Although Akpabio was released to go on the first day of the interrogation on administrative bail, he was asked to return to the commission the next day and was interrogated for hours.
The former governor is now on administration bail to await further action on the case from the anti-graft body.
However, the EFCC invited the petitioner, Ekpeyong, to report at the commission to make clarifications on some areas of the petition by 10am on Monday.
Ekpeyong told our correspondent on the telephone that he would be at the EFCC by 10 am as directed in the letter inviting him.

Rather than the silly tough talk which adds no value to Nation building let the Presidency and APC think outside the box and work towards a more perfect union!

Fashola is an APC man, he is an advocate of devolution or true federalism. Let APC channel the debate in that direction.

Igbos are known to own businesses and landed properties in other regions outside their own than any other tribe. Perhaps Igbos have more vested interest in the unity of Nigeria than any other tribe! Let's have a referendum and a vote and people will realise that majority of Igbos will stay in Nigeria with a promise for devolution.

If I own a business in Lagos or Kano, I doubt I will like to wake up one morning to be designated an immigrant and require a visa to continue my business just because of Biafra. But like I say more hearts and mind will be won if devolution or true federalism is on offer!

Think, honestly think. Asked to name Igbo leaders, does Nnamdi Kanu or Uwazurike come to mind? Has anybody heard or seen a true Igbo leader of thought at the vanguard of the current quest for Biafra?

Nnamdi Kanu and his IPOB are free to pursue any aspirations in a free society so long as they do so peacefully, it is up to Nigeria to silence this group through providing superior ideas and alternatives rather than alienating the rest of the majority of silent Igbos!

The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, has called for the abolition of the Eze Ndigbo title outside Igbo land.

He said the craze for title by the Igbo indigenes outside their states of origin was making a mockery of the Igbo tradition and culture.

Igbokwe, who said this in an article titled, ‘Eze Ndigbo title outside Igboland: A needless distraction’, on Sunday, advised the Ohaneze Ndigbo to end the embarrassment caused by the Ndigbo title by issuing a policy paper that compels the Igbo to abide by it.

He said it was unfortunate that politicians outside Igbo land exploit the Eze Ndigbo to their own advantage, especially to win elections.

He said, “A situation where drug kingpins, armed robbers, kidnappers, failed businessmen hide under the Eze Ndigbo title to continue to embarrass us calls for immediate attention and concrete actions. We cannot continue to pretend that all is well when these pretenders sow seeds of discord between our people and the host communities.

“We need to have the courage to do away with this dangerous trend which tends to cause disaffection between us and the host communities across Nigeria. Let us abolish this Eze Ndigbo title outside Igboland for peace to reign.”

It will be recalled that the Deji of Akure, Oba Kole Aladetoyinbo, recently banned the Eze Ndigbo title in Akure after a disagreement with the Eze Ndigbo of Akure, Gregory Iloehike.

According to Igbokwe, the Deji of Akure and other Yoruba rulers see the holders of the Eze Ndigbo title as a threat to their sovereignty due to the way they “carry themselves about with noise and arrogance.”

Igbokwe said most of the Eze Ndigbo title holders were common traders who needed political power to raise their status both at home and outside Igbo land.

He also said some of them were failed businessmen seeking to earn a living and political and economic patronage.

He said, “I suggest that Igbo leaders, especially the Ohaneze Ndigbo, move into action now and stop this nonsense forever. We must produce a paper on it and compel our people to abide by it.

“We must do the needful before it gets out of hand. Our people must care about the feelings of other Nigerians outside Igbo land where they do businesses and must be told in the strongest terms to respect the rules of engagement and rules of business anywhere they are.

“This craze for titles outside Igbo land is making a mockery of our tradition, culture and cherished ideals.
