You can also delete the Abs and drive without it if your car system allows, that way you are the one that have to time your braking well and brake responsibility
My abs was faulty in my Honda civic, when I was told the price for a replacement, omo I deleted am ni, no more assisted braking system, my braking are now all manually done by me. Just the Abs light is on all the time on my dashboard

Just get an engine replacement, please do not rebuild or overhaul the current engine, they don't last.

200k for engine replacement is even on the cheap side in today's exchange rate.

Test your fuel pump to see if it pump pressure meets up with specification for your car ,

If it does, test fuel pressure regulator to know if it hold fuel within the fuel line or drains back into the fuel tank after car is turned off . Check YouTube for this.

After testing this, you can change the fuel filter.

yes the engine was still working just smoking, hence we were able to test drive and ensure the transmission shift within all gears, also we check to make sure the airbag intact and not deployed which ensure no major frame damage.

Sharing based on personal experience from buying 3 cars.

As we all know, car price has doubled, I bought an 05 Pontiac vibe in 2019 at 1.6m now go for 3.2m plus abeg self if not more.

While car price has doubled, the price of engine hasn't, at worst there have been a marginal increase in engine price, for example Honda crv engine 2007 used to 220k now 360k. Price increase of 140k. But don't worry there is something I am driving at.

Back in 2019 an Honda crv 2007 WAs 2.4m today it is a out 4.2m. Now suppose you get one with a very good chassis, no frame damage, no electrical abuse, that still drive but with a smoking engine.

A friend specially search on Jiji for this last month, we finally found one that meet our listed checklist. We negotiated with the seller for 1.1m. Paid and arrange for an engine installation and some suspension repairs.

The guy even used it with the smoking engine like for two week.

After getting a trusted engine seller and needed parts and after spending 500k which also include paint correction expenses. The car drives like new cars

Bro forget. I had that mindset before but when Nigeria used show me pepper..I had no choice but to close eyes buy tokumbo. One great thing about toks is dat if the owner maintains it very well via regular oil change, shocks replacement as at when due, decent driving style etc, the vehicle will in the long run save money that you would have continually spend on a Nigerian used car

But knowing this can be hard, there are tokunbo cars with bad maintainance too.
